Consumer Complaint: ok in XXXX i purchased a car a XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the finance company was Credit Acceptance. The car was in a accident in XX/XX/XXXX the car was totaled and the at fault insurance company totaled the car, i advised the insurance company that i wanted to keep the car which i did,,, they estimated the value of the car and told me that they would send the check for the value of the car with my name on it and the lean holder which was Credit Acceptance. i sent the entire check to credit acceptance and paid the off they kept the entire check and stated it covered the balance of my loan so i wouldn't any of the money because it paid my loan completely off .. they sent my me title and to my XXXX XXXX XXXX ... i couldn't get my title until the total loan was paid off so the check that was sent to them covered my loan .... so now i don't know why they are showing negative remarks on my credit report and showing that the loan was settled less than full balance,,,, they wouldn't release my title until the loan was completely paid off so why they put that inaccurate remark on my credit report i paid that entire loan off with the check the insurance company sent me, they need to removed that remark or remove the entire account from my credit report because the loan was paid in full, ,and not less than full balance,,,,

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Denied request to lower payments
Consumer Complaint: I have been a customer with Credit Acceptance Corporation since XX/XX/XXXX. My XX/XX/XXXX used vehicle is unfortunately financed through them. I have XXXX and have recently been undergoing XXXX. I had a payment that was due on XX/XX/XXXX. My next payment was just due on XX/XX/XXXX. A few days ago I called and spoke with a rep and Supervisor on XX/XX/XXXX and told them I was in the hospital and asked if they could give me an extension until the end of the month to catch up payment. They said no and that the disabling switch to cut off the car would go into effect in a couple days by XX/XX/XXXX if I didn't make at least the payment if {$290.00}. I asked if they could put that one payment at the end of the loan due to the circumstances and stated that they do not provide that option. So if you get sick you loose your car. They will disable it from starting and start the repo process. It does not matter how many years of payments you've invested into paying these people. When I purchased this car the dealership stated this was one of the lenders quick to say yes but you don't know how bad the lender is until you start dealing with them. With no options for customers when they have a financial hardship especially due to sickness this lender is not providing consumers with good car loans. They are simply in business for profit and could careless about the consumer. This company needs to be investigated for its practices for no options for consumers to put at least one payment at the end of their loan or the ability to make even a partial payment. Consumers get XXXX with company. They need to fulfill my request.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, Id like to file a complaint with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, along with Credit Acceptance Corporation. On XX/XX/XXXX I started a new car loan on a XXXX XXXX XXXX. My amount financed was {$16000.00}. I was rushed through the process of buying a car, as me and my co-signer were not allowed to read what we were ( electronically ) signing. ( we were only allowed to check boxes. ) Our dealer offered brief explanations, but said we could not read it as it needed to be signed electronically before being printed out. We were told I was going to have a 15 % interest rate by the salesmen, as the only creditor that would finance me was Credit Acceptance Corporation. After signing all the paperwork and going home, I was reviewing the paperwork a few days later and saw my interest rate was 22.9 %. My total amount I have to pay back is {$29000.00} for my car. This information was not disclosed to me, I was not allowed to read it. I went back to the car lot to try to return my car, as there is a paper I signed for the fees of a cancelled car deal. Prior to going there, I called credit acceptance to see about canceling the deal. They said it was an option, and it was up to the dealer if I could cancel the deal. I went to the dealership ready to pay these ludicrous fees so I wouldnt be trapped in this loan. When I got there, the dealer coincidentally couldnt get ahold of credit acceptance to verify that I could cancel a deal. ( Although credit acceptance said I could cancel it. ) It got to the point where the salesmen, along with his fellow salesmen, were screaming at me and my mother and refusing to take my car back. They were literally in our face, yelling. After things calmed down, he told me I can refinance in 6 months and my interest rate will go down, along with my loan length. After a year of making payments on time in hopes of refinancing, I find out I will never be able to refinance. My payoff is still XXXX dollars. My car isnt even worth {$9000.00}. I was not offered gap insurance. If I follow my payment schedule, I will still be paying {$22000.00} until my loan is over. The dealer also falsified my down payment amount, to make me eligible for a extended warranty which I also had to pay for. Since I am unable to refinance my loan, I am unable to get out of my loan. If the information was disclosed properly, I would have never put myself in this situation. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, but more importantly Credit Acceptance Corporation are designed to rush the car buying process, and the target people who are unaware. They also do not disclose that you barely pay any of the principal of your loan, and almost all interest until the end of your 66 month loan. There is not an option to pay extra towards the principal of your loan. Its a shady creditor for shady dealerships. On the dealer section of Credit Acceptance website, it tells them they will finance anyone. None of the information I was told, lined up with information I signed for. We were deceived, and taken advantage of. Im trapped between a rock and a hard place. I also just read on my paperwork for when I received my car, that I had the right to return the vehicle to the dealer if I did not receive a certificate of title within 31 days. ( It is a dealer title affidavit, will provide signed copy. ) I have yet to receive one, as after them blowing up on me and my mother we have not been in contact.

Consumer Complaint: CREDIT ACCEPTANCE CORPOR XXXX XXXX XXXX CREDIT DISPUTE DEPT XXXX, MI XXXX The above referenced company does not provide any type of verification of account history, payments etc. I have made my payments that apparently, a few were not applied accordingly causing an issue. Without receiving any type of monthly statement or access to online account I was not aware of an issue until I called in for verification. This account is set up on biweekly payments but because of the initial issue, it is continuously running behind. This is only adding late fees and additional interest I should not be responsible to pay. I have no idea of what my balance is or when my payments post. I contacted this company to get assistance on updating the account and was told there was nothing they could do until I pay the past due amount. I make my full payment every month. This is outrageous that they can bill me for late fees and additional interest without providing me access to see the activity on my own account. They are reporting this account as constantly delinquent.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I was looking through my report and noticed a vehicle that I returned to the dealership where it's reporting completely incorrect, and it's reporting on my credit report with multiple inaccuracies. I had the opportunity to talk to several lawmakers and friends, and learned some basic laws in regards to voluntary or repossession of a vehicle. Under the laws of MASS and UCC 9.506 as well as State RISA and MVISA statutes, a deficiency can not be claimed unless all of the required notices were properly and timely given, and all of the allowable redemption and cure time limits were adhered to. PLEASE HAVE THEM IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THIS ACCOUNT FROM MY CREDIT REPORT.

Consumer Complaint: Please reference case XXXX and credit Acceptance account XXXX. Bi received a letter from Credi Acceptance legal aid XXXX XXXX. As a result we were placed in a do not call list with Credit Acceptance. But they denied any other wrong doing which is expected from such people. The issue at hand is my wife has called two days in a row trying to make the payments and the representatives proceeded to verbally harass and abuse my wife. She started calling 3 days after the due date to make this payment and the recording we have on hand prove the abuse and just downright ugliness we have to endure when calling. Todays date XX/XX/2018 she calls again to make the payment and she gets off the phone in tears from the verbal assault. This is the absolute last time I report this information. Next time I am suing Credit Acceptance because we have the recording now of their abuse Ive nature to people who actually pay. I got on the phone today with a manager named XXXX and she was extremely apologetic. I made the payment and foretold her of the actions getting ready to be against credit Acceptance. They have been sued so many times due to their actions and this time those cases will be referenced and show a history of abussive communications.

Consumer Complaint: I settled an account in full with Credit Acceptance Corp on XX/XX/2018 for the amount of {$5100.00}. Credit acceptance still reports a balance of XXXX, as well as a late payment when it should be reported as XXXX balance. I have brought this information to credit acceptance on XX/XX/18 and XX/XX/18 and they will not correct it. I have recordings of making the payment stating that it is payment for settlement in FULL, as well as supporting documents. When I brought the issue to XXXX they called credit acceptance, and took the information provided from credit acceptance because they said so and disregarded any supporting documents that I had sent over. This was on XX/XX/18. I gave credit acceptance the original 30 days allotted for dispute through XXXX, at the end of the 30 days they still reported false information. I am currently going through the mortgage underwriting process and this information immediately dropped my credit score XXXX points putting my mortgage approval in jeopardy. I will upload any documents I have. I can also provide the recorded conversation with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX co, clearly stating that the payment was for SETTLEMENT IN FULL.
