Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I traded my vehicle and the dealership over paid credit acceptance by {$630.00} and they also owe me for {$1500.00} for gap insurance and {$1400.00} for my warranty. We have contacted them several times and they refuse to give us back our money. Straight out said they were keeping it and will not explain why. They said they would give us {$7.00}. This is fraudulent and I want my money back. They lied about the amount on the check they received from XXXX XXXX XXXX sales for the pay off. XXXX XXXX sent a check for {$15000.00} and Credit Acceptance admitted the pay off was {$14000.00}. They put it on the account like they didnt get the overpayment of {$630.00} put there is a paper trail at the dealership that says different. Also they admit they owe for gap insurance refund and refuse to give it back.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: I voluntarily surrendered a XXXX XXXX after it kept breaking down. I paid thousands of dollars to have multiple items fixed and then the engine had to be replaced. I had a vehicle warranty on it, and it did not cover all the parts ( the auto dealership told me it was bumper to bumper ). It was beyond the lemon law time period, and they would not work with me. They sold it for an amount beyond what they have on my credit report after I surrendered the XXXX. I tried settling the amount and they will not work with me. I have disputed Credit Acceptance Corporation 's amount and also asked for them to remove the account off my credit.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with the interest rate
Consumer Complaint: On the day of XX/XX/2020, I went to an dealership to purchase a care for the use of work and school. The car that was sold to me was an XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXXXX/XX/XXXX. The dealership sold me the car for the price of XXXX with monthly payments of {$430.00} with and interest rate of 22 %. Not making the right decision of actually looking around. The down payment that I had put on the car was {$1800.00} with only putting down {$1400.00} and owing {$300.00} which i payed. I am now paying an overall amount of {$32000.00} for the car over the period of 72 months. The dealership really conned me out of this deal as when i went back to discuss the situation they couldn't do or say anything but it was to late after bringing the car back 2 1/2 days later. My interest rate is really extreme and i want to be able to fix this if possible. On the day of XX/XX/2020, i went to get my car registered and I couldn't because I needed the title so i contacted the dealership. I spoke with the woman that signed off on my documents and she sounded very qwerky as if in a it is what it is voice. I told her i needed the title to register my car and she said the wasn't possible because they were still " processing '' that and other items. This dealership isn't the best one to buy a car from and this will be my LAST time. This was my first car to have ever bought and my first car period and my experience has been horrible even finding an affordable insurance. Hopefully someone can help me.!?

Consumer Complaint: I got a vehicle in XXXX of XXXX. The vehicle had a lot of problems from XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX TN and they refused to fix the issues. So we had to do a voluntary repo in XXXX of XXXX. Now I'm getting calls from Credit Acceptance wanting payment. They are threatening legal action and wanting me to pay an unfair payment for it to be paid off.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I reported a dispute to XXXX regarding Credit Acceptance. I called Credit Acceptance first to work out reporting. They state my account has been closed since XX/XX/XXXX. ( verified verbally as well as the XXXX tracking on the check sent to them ) Yet, they reported to all bureaus that it was open. They received a check for {$22000.00} which is in excess of the XXXX payoff amount due. Proof attached, verbally stated it is good through XX/XX/XXXX the date the check was received. Then they stated to all bureaus that my debt amount owed to them was XXXX ( the amount of the check ) which caused a 34 pt. decrease in my credit score. Proof attached. This is troublesome for several reasons - unfair, incorrect reporting. Credit damage. Reporting an account as NOT closed yet agreeing over the phone it is. Appearing to intend to keep the refund owed due to cancellation of the warranty. Contract states it is owed to me ( Illinois provision ).

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance Corporation continues to call and harass me about a debt that they have been paid off on through there insurance company plus they are reporting the loan opening dates different with 2 out of 3 of the credit reporting bureaus. Which is a violation of my credit consumer rights in which everything has to be accurate when reporting a debt. An they sent me a copy of a contract that was signed with computer generated signatures that I have never signed even my signature was a fake.

Consumer Complaint: Obtained loan to purchase a used car XX/XX/XXXX for a XXXX XXXX with 101,637 miles on odometer. Borrower put {$3800.00} down as deposit and borrowed {$15000.00}. Now it's XX/XX/XXXX and the blue book value of the car ( {$10000.00} ) is less than 50 % of the Account Balance ( {$22000.00} ). At this point there is no way to get out from under this predatory loan. To add insult to injury, we spent {$4000.00} fixing the car before calling to surrender it ( timing chain tensioner failed, jumped teeth, and the valves hit the piston ). Credit Acceptance should not be allowed to make loans like this to vulnerable consumers.

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: I have contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX ( inquiry XX/XX/XXXX ), Credit Acceptance ( XX/XX/XXXX ), and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I let each of these companies know that I did not recognize the inquiries that THEY placed on my credit report. I asked each company to provide me with a written consent from me indicating that I agreed to the credit inquiry. After several hours on the phone getting nowhere with each of these companies and getting the runaround, I decided to send a formal letter to them ( each letter is attached ). I have found that most of the companies that are reporting information out on my credit report are receiving their " inquiry '' from a 3rd party and are not the actual furnisher of the data. This fact makes it even more imperative to see the written approval with my signature.
