Consumer Complaint: I had a job loss and I still kept sending money that was being applied to the wrong account. Finally they repossessed the car, I paid the balance of {$600.00} to get the car back. Then they made a payment arrangement with me after correcting their mistake. They gave me the same account number I had for years and they were not applying my payments to that account, because supposedly it was not my account. They found the money that they were not applying, because my bank had to get involved to clarify the discrepancy that they caused. They then made a payment arrangement but have been reporting my payments late and refuse to correct their mistake. Please I need your help because this has severely impacted my credit history and score.

The MA Attorney General Has Sued Credit Acceptance Corp, which informed me that the loan company is current committing a criminal act by charging a MA residency over XXXX XXXX for an auto. I have reached out to XXXX on XX/XX/2022 to submit a payoff payment to end this illegal contract with Registered mail Number RE XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, no response, I sent another letter to them on XX/XX/2022 Certified mail : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX incase there were some type of error. Again, no response, I used a Notary as a witness to the transaction and sent the final letter on XX/XX/2022. Again no response. This corporation is Boldly Violating a multitude of laws that was developed to prevent this very situation right here. Consumer Complaint: I took out a loan with Credit Acceptance XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX I was in a car accident with my car. The vehicle was towed to a local auto yard. My insurance had lapsed, so the repairs were not covered. I contacted Credit Acceptance and explained the situation and turned the vehicle over to them, as I had no way to repair. This should have been a repossession in XXXX. The last payment made on this vehicle was XX/XX/XXXX. My loan was paid as agreed until I had my accident. Credit Acceptance is continuing to report this account, more than three years after I released the car back as an open account that is XXXX days late. This inaccurate reporting is intended to do maximum damage to my credit, and more than three years later is hindering me from being able to obtain an auto loan from a reputable lender because of my " open past due car loan ''. I have tried numerous times to have this corrected and have not been able to get any response. I understand that this account will report negatively, that is my responsibility, but the reporting is inaccurate and this reporting is doing damage to me and my family. I have been unable to secure reliable transportation for my children with this inaccurate credit reporting.
