Issue: Repossession
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: I told the company, Credit Acceptance Corporation, that I wanted to voluntarily repo my vehicle. It was towed away by my apartment. I notified CAC where to pick up the truck. They never got it. The tow company got a mechanics lien, retitled the truck and sold it. CAC sent one notice in XX/XX/2023 saying I owed {$24000.00} when the payoff was {$13000.00}. CAC continues to add delinquent marks on my credit report, with no way for me to settle the debt. They will not turn it over to collections nor can they be contacted directly. Their phone number goes to a medical life alret robo system. This is unethical and I will be continually punished for this with no way to make amends

Consumer Complaint: Some guy pulled into my driveway and tried to take my car while I was still in it.. I noticed that there was some guy lurking in the back of my driveway, because I heard the door close. The drive way is wrap around so, as I ran out to confront him trying back into the entrance of the wrap around drive way.. so I got in the car. As he backed up to block me in, so as to attempt to hitch the vehicle ( 1 that I'm still in at this point, might I add ) rolled my window down and asked him not to block my driveway yet he proceeded to do so, then he put the forks under the tires and began lifting. So, I proceeded to drive off the forks, at which point he still tried to block me in the driveway and I had to drive thru the neighbors yard to evade him.
