Consumer Complaint: Coinbase refuses to timely and adequately investigate unauthorized accounts and transactions. A user is illegally using their services as an escrow account as a part of an elaborate fraudulent scam, but the company wont respond to email requests on their support line, nor will they take calls. One of their users has taken my identity and others to open accounts and fraudulently wire money into those accounts. I have sent over 30 messages through their support email the same day these funds were wired to no avail. I contacted their bank servicer, XXXX XXXX, who also had no way of contacting them and have provided information to the authorities. The account number XXXX Routing number XXXX is a fraudulent account using my stolen identity to wire funds into under an escrow account. Coinbase will not respond, not take calls, and cooperate with an investigation with authorities.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021, abruptly could not access my Coinbase account. Fearing someone was trying to manipulate the account I submitted a request to close access, then reported this to Coinbase. Following their instructions I tried to regain access but was unable to and reported this to them. XX/XX/XXXX they indicated they were not able to They responded that they were unable to resolve the issue, and would be back with further instructions within 10 days. No such response ever came and I issued a new support request on XX/XX/XXXX and got a response that this support request was being added to my original one, and that I should get a response ( " generally within 4 or 5 days '' ). I have heard nothing as of today XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. Because of the inability to access my account, I was not able to withdraw over $ XXXX, and the value of the account has now dropped significantly while I continue to wait. Over one month has passed and I have received no communications and the account continues to display " temporarily disabled '' if I try to log in.

Consumer Complaint: I have been with coinbase.com for about 4 years now. Every time I login, I receive a code that is sent to my phone.. after I input that code, I then receive an email to authorize the login. 3 weeks ago I woke up and saw 3 codes being sent to my phone 6 hours ago. I was quick to login to my coinbase and saw multiple transactions being sent out to different addresses in increments of XXXX . They had also purchased more cryptocurrencies with my visa debit card ... depleting my checking account They took everything I checked my email and there was no authorization email sent by coinbase. Also no new ip address logins to my email. Security fault on coinbases end I'm assuming. I opened a dispute with coinbase and I got an automated response saying please allow 4-5 business days. It's been about 15 business days now. 3 weeks in total days with no response from coinbase.com

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/2021, I learned of a company called Coinbase. Through them, one could buy parts of Bitcoin. After registering with them, providing driver 's license scan, self-portrait, Social Security numbers, and bank account numbers, I sent {$100.00}. a few days later, I Sent another {$100.00}, for a total of {$200.00} a few days later. About one week later, I was no longer able to get into my account. The company has a help phone line which is unmanned and through which one can only report possible fraudulent activity. I have filed several reports, and find a lot of XXXX complaints about the company. Apparently I am not the only one that's getting built on these things. They are traded on the XXXX XXXX as of XX/XX/2021 ( symbol is coin ) Apparently, a case number is automatically assigned when you call. I have several case numbers. In each of their responses, they wanted to know the same information that I keep sending them. They act interested and state that they will get back to me as soon as possible. As of this date, I have not heard anything from them. I am unable to get into my account and can not get my money back. Their canned response to each of my emails shows that nobody seems to be reading them and I am probably being addressed by a computer. The instructions they send tell me to change my password and login again but the problem with that is then the site tells me that I have an invalid email or password. It invites me to change the password if I have forgotten it, which I have not. Clicking on the forgot password icon takes me to another useless exercise in changing it and then finding out that it still doesn't work. XXXX XXXX XXXX complaints are numerous, and in XXXX complaints about this company one sees hundreds of similar cases. All documents are emails and are not included here

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Coinbase tried to debit my account XXXX for the 2nd time after reaching out and advising I am having an issue with my bank. Coinbase has a misleading statement saying that they will liquidate the cryptocurrency account in order to recover funds. They went ahead and debited my account again. This has caused my bank to charge a {$35.00} overdraft fee, which they can not remove. Coinbase is using deceitful tactics.
