Months later, if not years the debt was sold to Jefferson Capital Systems and it reappeared on my credit file. Even though I have never owned a personal XXXX account.

When I contact XXXX they don't recognize account number or balance being reported by Jefferson Capital. When I contact Jefferson I can't get a hold of anyone that can bring me up in their systems. I have been disputing this with XXXX for many years and it is still appearing on my credit report.

This email clearly indicates that I owe no outstanding debt to XXXX. However, to my surprise, I recently discovered that Jefferson Capital Systems has reported this debt on my credit report, despite the balance being {$0.00}. This action by Jefferson Capital Systems has negatively impacted my creditworthiness and is causing significant distress. Attempts to Resolve the Issue : In an effort to rectify this matter, I have made numerous attempts to contact Jefferson Capital Systems regarding their erroneous debt collection efforts. Specifically, I would like the following actions to be taken : Investigation : Conduct a thorough investigation into Jefferson Capital Systems ' debt collection practices to determine whether they have violated any consumer protection laws. Removal from Credit Report : Request that Jefferson Capital Systems immediately remove this erroneous debt from my credit report, as it is impacting my creditworthiness and causing undue harm. On XXXX, XX/XX/, I was contacted by an agent from Jefferson Capital System stating they are a debt collecting agency and I owe them for a contract I had with XXXX XXXX. I advised the caller I did not owe Jefferson Capital System anything as they had not produced the contract for services rendered. On XXXX, XX/XX/, I received an alert from my credit reporting subscription where Jefferson Capital System increased the amount of the collection. I believe this updated report was done with malicious intent causing my credit score to be lowered. I have filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX to report their malicious and unethical practices. I am not liable for this debt with Jefferson Captial System as I do not have a contract with them as they have not provided me with the original contract as I requested.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX was first contact with XXXX whom is associated with Jefferson. Thought they were a scam and gave them a dummy account to get them off my phone. Starting XX/XX/XXXX started receiving random calls from different numbers and text messages. The same day I noticed Jefferson reporting debt on my report. Contacted Jefferson and asked them to send written communication they own the debt and to remove themselves from my report as I don't have an agreement with them. Under code 15 USC 1681B- permissible purpose, it is illegal to report a debt on my report without my permission.
