Consumer Complaint: I had sold a phone i got and called my cell phone provider XXXX to close the account and cancell my service. They said they will get it taken care of. Got a bill in the mail a month later with ridiculous chargers. They never closed the account and the person I sold the phone too was using my old service which wasnt an unlimited plan. I call and dispute and they said they would fix it and dont pay the bill. So I dont Then I get 2-3 more bills in the mail with late fees and more charges from the provider. I dispute again and they tell me that I never asked to close the account. Which I did. So then they finally close the account and they tell me that I still owe that money even tho they messed up big time. I create a XXXX complaint and have corporate call me 3 times. By now they already but my stuff into collections still while its in a dispute phase. And they said they would look into it and they apologized but they never got back to me. When I followed up I got the head of corporate on the phone and they ensured it was going to be taken care of. 3 years later its still in collections and they are still trying to collect a debt I dont owe. I disputed the debt with the collection agency multiple times. And they hang up ever single time. I call them back and they still hang up. I recently successfully disputed it without a hang up and they still are destroying my credit with false claims. I told them to send a itemized bill and proof of debt and they havent sent anything to me. No proof that its owed and no proof that it is my debt. Yet its still impacting me and my family.

Consumer Complaint: A collection account from Jefferson Capital Sys was placed on my XXXX credit report without proper notice in accordance with the Fair Credit Report Act. I have no knowledge of this debt and do not believe that it is mine. After disputing the account with XXXX it was added that it is related to XXXX XXXX. I had previously filed CFPB complaint XXXX related to the XXXX XXXX account on XX/XX/2020. I have not had an account with XXXX XXXX for over 3 years and the account had a {$0.00} at the time it was closed. The complaint was forwarded to the FTC. The result of the complaint was that the XXXX XXXX account was removed from my credit report. Now without proper notice or verification the account has been sold to Jefferson Capital Systems.

I have never signed a contract with, had any business dealing, nor do I owe Jefferson Capital System. Jefferson Capital System has harassed with phone calls and direct mail, to which I don't know how they obtained my address. I have disputed this with all three bureaus, stating that this is not my account and I am not responsible for this debt. I have not had any success with getting this resolved.

Consumer Complaint: Jefferson Capital is reporting an account on my credit report that I have not received any communication from them about. The account is reporting with a company called XXXX XXXX. I have not received any documents or letters from Jefferson Capital about this account. The account just showed up on my credit report in XX/XX/2021. Now the company is calling me repeatedly. As far as I know Jefferson Capital was required to send a letter to me before reporting this account on my credit report so that I could have a chance to request validation. The company did not send me this letter. They have not sent me any letters. Nothing. This account should not be on my credit report.
