I have previously disputed these accounts with Jefferson Capital and the original creditor and provided them with documentation proving the fraudulent nature of these accounts. However, they have not taken the necessary steps to validate these debts as required by law, and they continue their collection efforts. Consumer Complaint: The original debt was with XXXX, I was paying them and they sent my account to XXXX. I didn't trust that XXXX was authorized to collect money for XXXX so I kept sending money to XXXX at the end of XXXX, beginning of XXXX and then COVID issues. Almost the entire amount XXXX billed me for were turn off fees for XXXX devices, which first of all should have been illegal. I paid off several of those devices. XXXX issue, I finally arranged to make payment of the debt with XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I agreed to 5 electronic pre-authorized payments of XXXX. They took the first payment and were supposed to email me a contract, they never did. They were supposed to mail it in the regular mail, I don't remember getting it and have not found one. I asked them this year to resend it and they said they would and I did not get it. Back to the payments : They took {$180.00} out of my PNC Bank account ending in XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, the second payment was {$180.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, the third payment of {$180.00} was taken out on XX/XX/XXXX. I have an attached statement showing that the last XXXX payments were to be taken out on XX/XX/XXXX which they did, and then on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. The payments for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX were never attempted or processed. I did not realize this until I was checking in XXXX to make sure that they closed the account and showed it as paid. That's when I discovered that they never took the payments out. When I talked to the lady originally, I specifically chose dates that were after my pay date to make sure the funds would be there. When I called to find out WHY the pre-authorized payments were not taken out, I was told that there wasn't enough money in the account. That is false. I have never heard of a payment not being taken out or retried and if that is the case why didn't they notify me so I could check on it or pay it directly, they didn't do any of that. In fact you can see that my account has overdraft protection and I was charged an overdraft charge at one point during the year and then they refunded the charge. So for some reason XXXX did not take the funds out of my account to satisfy the 'contract ' that they never sent me so that I didn't know what to do to complain. I called several times, requested paperwork, etc. They were very mean and said there was nothing I could do. How could I prove that they were supposed to take the money and didn't? I was having trouble downloading their messages from their encrypted emails so I don't even have some of the communication. I got smart at one point and figured to screenshot a email and the 'bill ' so I do have a few of those but any other communications I could get into because I didn't know the password. I couldn't find any of those emails at first and was unable to get any copy 's of the info and then I finally found some. I believe they didn't want to satisfy my account and must have gotten more money from XXXX for not collecting the entire amount and instead ruining my credit. If you look at my credit all my other accounts are in excellent repayment status. I have found a few statement from XXXX but they have a crypted email and some of the emails link to an encryption which you need a code to get to see any of the info. I was able to successfully get some of the info and even screen shot a chat. I can upload all of that information. XXXX in the first place turned off my XXXX lines after I complained that their sales rep gave me a phone that I ended up getting 2 lines and one phone. I complained because they were charging me for 2 lines ( in XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX ) and they wouldn't fix it. I had to pay an extra {$75.00} for nothing, then they turned off my other 5 accounts and charged me turn off fees for EACH line! they caused me to have my business number turned off and it affected my business, I was angry but made payment arrangements. in XXXX I missed a scheduled payment and they turned my account over to their company XXXX. I was a XXXX customer for over 20 years!!! but I felt they were abusing me because they kept turning off my phones and charging turn off fees so that I couldn't pay the extremely expensive bill and as soon as I got caught up ( and these bills were sometimes $ XXXX a month-like in XX/XX/XXXX ) they would turn it off again within a week or two! I feel those were extreme costs and I had been complaining for months. My normal bill was around {$200.00} and they would turn off my lines, I would pay and they would turn them off again in a week or two!!!! I lost my number because of their fraudulent fees and practices. AND now their company screwed me over by not taking out the preauthorized payments so my account could be settled and then they turned it over to Jefferson Capital to collect more money from me and ruin my credit. You can see this is the ONLY collections account on my record. AND I tried to settle it. What am I supposed to do when the collections company doesn't take the agreed upon money?? It's very difficult to find where to even complain about this stuff.
