Consumer Complaint: I closed my XXXX XXXX account on XX/XX/XXXX after my XXXX contract expired and I moved to XXXX for better pricing and plans. XXXX sent a bill for the next billing cycle despite me closing my account. I disputed this several times with XXXX and reported XXXX to the XXXX, I have also joined class action lawsuits against XXXX as this has happened to many people over the years. I have not seen relief from either the XXXX nor the class action. XXXX maintained I owed them for the subsequent billing cycle and put negative marks on my credit for 7 years. Now that 7 years have passed, they sold the account to Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. Jefferson Capital Systems LLC is trying to collect XXXX 's debt that is 1 ) incorrect and 2 ) past 7 years old. They email and/or call me daily. I have asked them to stop contacting me via email. Per the FCRA, " consumer reporting agencies may not report outdated negative information. In most cases, a consumer reporting agency may not report negative information that is more than seven years old, or bankruptcies that are more than 10 years old. ''
