Consumer Complaint: A debt collection appeared on my credit report for {$810.00} owed to Jefferson Capital Systems ( JCS ) with the original creditor listed as XXXX XXXX, opened on XX/XX/XXXX. I sent XXXX a debt verification letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, asking for several specific pieces of documentation which proved their claim of a debt owed. XXXX responded with a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, which included a single-page document and claimed it to be " verification of the account ''. The document provided is what appears to be an overview of an account with XXXX XXXX ' one-month billing period XX/XX/XXXX, to XX/XX/XXXX,. This document shows only a total amount owed on the account and lacks specific information that, in my opinion, is necessary to prove any owed debt on my behalf. It's also unclear who owns the rights to this debt as the bill is directly from XXXX XXXX and can, to this day, be accessed and paid off directly through XXXX XXXX via their website.

Jefferson Capital is using my consumer report with extortionate means to coerce and swindle me into an payment which is an violation of 18 U.S.C. 892. You are also collecting on an time barred debt. Consumer Complaint: Company has not followed the credit reporting guidelines. The CFPBs debt collection rule requires debt collectors to take certain steps before reporting a debt to a credit reporting company. This company has neglected to send me any correspondence and/or any means of communication validating if this account belongs to me, prior to reporting to the credit bureaus. They further are fraudulently reporting on an account that has no merit, as I never had an account with XXXX or Jefferson Capital in XX/XX/2019 in the amount of {$2600.00}, not to mention they have waited seven ( 7 ) years to bring such a claim and have neve sent me any correspondence signed contracts, etc. They have not provided any original documentation to prove I have had an account with them through my many attempts to request this information, they have refused to provide any such documents and continuously harass me.

Consumer Complaint: My claim concerns Jefferson Capital Systems ( debt buyer ) attempting to collect on an account which is disputed by myself under general principles as outlined in the FCRA. I have disputed this account with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, and the company stamps the dispute as having been deemed accurate days later, with no proof whatsoever, no investigation, no documents, nothing but the false statement that they have met the guidelines for accuracy in disputing as presented in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Jefferson Capital Systems has violated my rights in this regard, and I wish for this agency to intervene and mediate this matter, make this complaint public so that others may learn from it and so that it becomes part of the public record against Jefferson Capital Systems violation of consumer rights. I authorize this agency to review all my credit bureaus, to verify the claims outlined, where multiple disputes have been presented, including date and time, and when they have been returned as accurate ( date and time ) without the requested information. Also, since I dispute this as not mine, I ask that this agency mediate the matter of mandating an investigation and removal of this error collection, so far as it is able under the law.

Consumer Complaint: Jefferson Capital Systems LLC owned a account from XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$1600.00}. This account is 8 years old. I disputed this account not once but twice the last time being in mid XXXX of XXXX, I went to call them & they said they could not talk to me as this account was being serviced by XXXX XXXX on behalf of Jefferson Capital Systems. XXXX still owned the account though. I asked for the verified info from XXXX they said they would send it & they also told me I could settle for {$1000.00}. Today on XX/XX/2022 I called XXXX & they informed me that the account had been sent back to them but they owned the account the entire time & that XXXX could only process payments & not send out verified information. The payment option that XXXX gave me was different than the XXXX option that I got back in XXXX. So in one week I was told to call a different ( XXXX ) company, got a payment option from that company, sent back to the original company ( XXXX ), asked for the original contract with XXXX with my signature on it & all the documents XXXX had with my name on it. After going back & forth & being transferred 4 times I got a supervisor on the phone. His name was XXXX with Jefferson Capital Systems ID # XXXX. He informed me the account would be removed in full. I have a witness to this phone conversation & was on a recorded line.
