Consumer Complaint: Jefferson Capital Systems I am responding to your notice that you placed in my con-sumer report under collections about a debt you are trying to collect. Please supply the information below so that I have all information : The name and address of the creditor to whom the debt is currently owed, the account number used by that creditor, and the amount owed. Provide the name and address of the original creditor, the account number used by that creditor, and the amount owed to that creditor at the time it was trans-ferred. When you identify the original creditor, please provide any other name by which I might know them. In addition, tell me when the did you obtained the debt. Provide verification and documentation that there is a valid basis for claiming that I must pay the debt to the current creditor. For example, can you provide a copy of the written agreement that created my original requirement to pay? Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau : Im writing to request assistance resolving XXXX and credit reporting discrepancies with Jefferson Capital Systems. I received a letter from Jefferson Capital systems in XXXX of XXXX requesting payment on a debt incurred through XXXX XXXX back in 2019. The original debt was XXXX and the letter stated they would accept a settlement payment of XXXX to resolve the account in full. I called Jefferson Capital systems on XX/XX/XXXX to negotiate payment options. I learned during the call that the offer expired the day before, on XX/XX/XXXX and they had just filed a case against me with the XXXX XXXX XXXX system. I asked if there were still options to negotiate a settlement. Jefferson Capital systems agreed to accept a payment of XXXX} as payment in full and to drop the associated court case. I made the full payment of XXXX that day to avoid receiving a court summons and settle the matter before it became a legal proceeding. I received a letter from Jefferson Capital systems on XX/XX/XXXX confirming the debt had been satisfied. I received another letter from them dated XX/XX/XXXX notifying me they had requested dismissal of the court case, with prejudice. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a court summons on the case. I called today to check on the case status and the court confirmed they never received a request for dismissal, and I have XXXX days from the date I was served to file a response. I have also learned the debt collector has updated my credit file to show the account still in collections with an amount owed of XXXX. I would like to find out if I have any recourse against the debt collector for failing to uphold the terms of the agreed upon payment to settle the debt. At the very least I would like the active court case against me dropped and my credit report update to show the debt collection paid as agreed. Thanks for your help

Consumer Complaint: I have reached out this Debt Collecting Company I mentioned that I do not acknowledge this debt that they are making efforts collecting on. I requested a Validation of debt. They mentioned they have no validation of the debt they are collecting on and asked me to provide proof to them that the debt isn't mine that they are making attempts to collect on behalf of a creditor. However they are in violation of Utah Code Law. That clearly states that need to provide validation of debt in order to make attempts to collect debt. There is lots of inaccuracies with reporting This collection company is inaccurately reporting information to credit bureaus that is affecting me negatively and has costed me lot of money. Along with that it has hurt my ability to obtain new accounts such as mortgage and has affected my credit rating. I now demand that this information be removed if they are not able to provide validation of debt immediately so my credit report is accurately being reported to the credit bureaus.
