Consumer Complaint: Billing Error Dispute Dear Best Buy Credit Services, I am writing in regards to a billing error previously identified in a billing statement issued on ( XX/XX/XXXX ) in the amount of ( {$3800.00} ). Now, the statement reads {$4900.00} of which there is still a billing error. As of XX/XX/XXXX, i have yet to receive a response from you. I will attach a copy of the previous letter sent and received by you to this complaint. You have now defamed my character by placing a late payment on my credit report as well as pushing the account over the limit. Until this is resolved this account should be placed into a Do Not Pay, Do Not Collect status. Kindly remove the negative marks from my credit report. Nothing is late and there isnt a balance. I have the right to withhold payment until this matter is resolved. Please be informed that the closing, restricting or any form of adverse action will forfeit your rights to collect on the account according to federal law. I am disputing the entire balance on this account. {$4900.00} is a credit not a balance due. Please send documentary evidence such as books of accounting, proving that this is in fact a balance due. Do not send statements, that does not constitute a form of documentary evidence. The amount indicated as being owed is in a POSITIVE amount of ( {$4900.00} ) which is a credit balance in excess of {$1.00}. Pursuant to 15 USC 1666d any credit balance in excess of {$1.00} should be credited or refunded to the consumer. I would like to request a full refund of the amount of the credit balance in excess of {$1.00} be mailed to me.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried on many different occasions to remove my Citi Bank Secured Card from my credit report/Profile. I have called the Citi Bank directly, as well as dispute with the three credit bureau and each time it is verified, or each time I call either companies they tell me to contact the other party to get it removed, leaving me in circles going back and forth. The account was paid in settlement in XXXX. When I call to confirm the balance, it is XXXX or not found but it is still showing on my profile. Citibank sent me a paid in full letter, with a XXXX balance, dated XX/XX/XXXX but will not remove the account from my credit report. I sent this to the bureaus but it continues to report on my credit file as valid which is affecting my credit report and score.

Consumer Complaint: I was trying to transfer my XXXX rewards from Citi Bank to a partner airline XXXX XXXX as advertised on their website and their online portal, but I was never being able to do so. The only reason why I kept my Citi credit card is because they offer this service to transfer points to XXXX XXXX airline. I contacted both Citi and XXXX XXXX Customer service and Citi CS told me to contact XXXX XXXX to resolved the issue and XXXX XXXX CS told me to contact Citi and Citi has to initiate the conversation with XXXX XXXX to resolve the issue. However, after 2 attempts on the phone with Citi on XX/XX/2023 and XX/XX/2023, they are still unable to resolve the issue. On XXXX, the Citi representative told me he will submit a report to investigate the issue and get back to me in 48 hours. However, that did not happen. On XX/XX/XXXX, the supervisor from Citi CS told me that the issue " can not be solve at this time '', exact wordings, and my points will not be able to transfer to XXXX XXXX. I believe it is a false advertisement in my particular case if my points can not be transfer to XXXX XXXX as of what their website and online said.

Consumer Complaint: In my credit record it shows me that I have a Citi bank card worth {$30000.00} which does not belong to me, at no time have I shared my personal information or any other information so that this account appears in my report. There are so many errors in this account that only the XXXX reflects is not an account that the 3 credit agencies verify so any information about this account does not belong to me at all.

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I received a text message on my cell phone, asking me if I made a purchase with my Home Depot credit card account/Citibank . I immediately responded no to the text message. Shortly after that I received another text message asking me if I made another purchase and I replied no immediately as well. I called the number that they prompted me to call immediately to let them know that it was not me using the card. I also informed them that I did not use the card on hand, which was expired nor did I authorize or give the card to anyone else to use. During the time that my card was used, I was physically at work, working as a XXXX Night Shift. They informed me that they will remove the charges and open a file for dispute and do an investigation and get back to me.. two months later I received a letter on XX/XX/2022, stating that they reapplied the balance plus interest to my account and I am now responsible to pay this amount. They did not provide any proof, No camera footage, no sales copy receipt/signed nor did they care that my card was expired and I could not use it. They also did not care the fact that I had never received a replacement card or activated it. They said that the investigation shows that the purchase was used with a physical card and as a result, it must be me that used it and therefore I am responsible. Since then, I submitted them all documents, proving that it was impossible for me to purchase using my card at that time of date being that I was in a different town an hour and a half away from the purchase location ; at same time I was physically at work ( I supplied them the necessary paperwork from my employer, confirming my presence at work ). In addition, I supplied in the copy of the card that shows clearly the credit card I had on hand which was expired at time of purchase. In addition they requested that I submit copies of my passport with signature to prove if it was my signature on the sales receipt which they told me that they can not let me see the sales receipt or signature that was signed on sales receipt or look at the footage from the cash register. I filled out a police report as well as identity theft report and have gotten nowhere with Citibank/Home Depot credit services . They are insisting I pay for charges plus interest for purchasesI did not use. I spoke to Home Depot manager in person and they confirmed that multiple reports of fraudulent purchases were done to their customers. She stated that now they have all types of way to duplicate a card or take credit cards mailed to customers by stealing their mail. They advise me to get in touch with the fraud department at Citibank and sending all the paperwork disputing charges.. I did send in certified letters disputing the charges to Citibank fraud department supervisor name, XXXX but she keeps on sending letters and over telephone telling me that I am responsible for these charges. I am outraged and horrified how they are insisting on innocent customer who is a victim of identity, theft and fraud be held responsible for purchases she did not purchase. I am also horrified and appalled how Citibank is handling this dispute from a loyal good standing customer very unprofessional. Citibank is attempting to make me a responsible without any proof or proper investigation.. I am kindly requesting that Justice should be served, and I should be credited for all the fees that incurred as a result of these fraudulent purchases and interest that they insist on charging every month. They also refuse to close my account and keep on charging late payments and interest even though they refuse to close my account.

Consumer Complaint: I was charged a cash advance fee for a transaction that was incorrectly categorized. I asked Citi to grant a one time refund and they were unable to. I then asked to dispute the charge as the services were by definition not as described by the merchant. I was then hung up on by the representative and did not receive a call back.

Consumer Complaint: The bank launched new software since then they do not process payments for 5 to 7 days but more importantly twice they have applied a low fee to my account then used a XXXX dollars plus from my account for days thus causing me to struggle. I like most Americans live paycheck to paycheck I have to care for my mother and my XXXX XXXX child. On XX/XX/2022 the bank indicated a XXXX charge and my balance went from XXXX to XXXX then again on XXXX. They charged XXXX non citi atm fee first of all there is no XXXX atm fee that I know of the largest fee I use is XXXX, my balance then went from XXXX to XXXX causing my money apps to not be paid and making it impossible for me to move my money the way it works for me. If they are doing this to somebody with no money what are they doing to everybody else. I do intend to move my account but of course that will take all of my money to go smoothly.

Consumer Complaint: Please see previous CFPB complaint filed against CITI BANK XXXX After a very stressful and tedious process with CITI BANK to receive a replacement on an expired credit card, CITI BANK has established a FRAUD HOLD on my account that requires me to answer many unnecessary or already document questions in order for the credit card company to approve purchases charged to my open account. One question in particular is repeatedly asked of me " Do you have a Citi Checking or Savings account? '' I am repeatedly asked for various phone numbers for verification. CITI Bank continues to discriminate against me as a customer. No one else has access to use my credit account. CITI Bank did not disclose that I would have to continuously pass through FRAUD examinations before I can use my account. This is a highly discriminatory practice. I will file a complaint with the FDIC and also write the U.S. Congress about the CITI Bank 's aggressive tactics and creating excessive, unnecessary barrier to access open credit account. Furthermore, I will begin the process of looking into a campaign to start a class action lawsuit against CITI Bank regarding it discriminatory practices towards its consumers.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX : This issue still has not been resolved to any reasonable end. Citi has continued to issue responses placating my previous complaints, offering no further proof that I proactively enrolled in the Payment Safeguard program, instead insisting that the statements issued over the lifetime of the account were authorization enough. Of course this is absurd, as if to say continued abuse of the relationship is permissible so long as it goes undetected. Consequently, I maintain my current position that Citi 's responses thus far have been nothing more than boilerplate and the issue remains unresolved. XXXX ( Background ) : Citi 's response to my complaint lodged through the CFPB is their latest attempt to further placate me. They've provided no additional evidence that would prove I willingly enrolled in the Payment Safeguard program, only suggesting that my activation of the card was consent enough. What's more, they included a veiled threat to alert ratings agencies of any delinquent payment activity due to the dispute, despite the fact that my account is in good standing. This was a boilerplate response that aims to dissuade me from any further action. XXXX ( Background ) : I've been a Citibank credit card account holder since XXXX, and it recently came to my attention that I'd been enrolled in their " Payment Safeguard '' program unbeknownst to me. This is a program that, to the best of my knowledge, I've never agreed to participate in, but have nonetheless been subject to, exposing me to years of monthly fees totaling in the thousands. Over the past months I've contacted Citibank on numerous occasions requesting proof that I willingly enrolled in the " Payment Safeguard '' program. In each instance no such proof could be relayed by phone, only a promise to share such details by mail. I've since received two identical letters ( one of which I'm including in this complaint ) suggesting that I enrolled in the program XXXX XXXX XXXX with no evidence to support my authorization ( something that was promised when speaking to Citibank representatives by phone ). What's more, when speaking with Citibank representatives I was assured this was a program I would have had to proactively enroll in, suggesting that such proof of consent exists. Still, no details have been offered. As far as I can tell Citibank fraudulently enrolled me in their " Payment Safeguard '' program, collecting monthly fees I never authorized and has placated me in all attempts to refund said monies.
