Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I have just learned that my fraud submission for Case # XXXX ( note a second case # XXXX filed on XX/XX/22 at the suggestion of XXXX ) has been rejected. This is my Appeal Letter. I am confounded by the banks denial of my claim. Please take another look at this open and shut fraud case and refund the {$980.00} that has been taken out of my account. On XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX ET, I was contacted on my cell phone by XXXX XXXX XXXX the number she used was XXXX XXXX ), who said she was with XXXX. She claimed that I had XXXX pending transactions coming from XXXX against my XXXX XXXX account. Note I have a joint account at XXXX XXXX XXXX which I share with my wife, XXXX XXXX. As an aside, I only recently signed up for XXXX on Citi and have used it only a couple of times it is not an application I am comfortable with yet and am surprised that the caller knew so much about me. The first thing I did was conference in my wife in to see if she had used XXXX for the {$1900.00} and {$900.00} ( the XXXX transaction amounts that XXXX XXXX mentioned ). When XXXX said she hadnt, I then went through the steps that XXXX XXXX suggested to block the transactions. I as told to open XXXX and put in these digits : XXXX ( which I should have recognized was a dollar amount but didnt at the time ) and put this detail in the notes field : XXXX. I was also provided with a XXXX # XXXX. When XXXX XXXX asked me to do this again with a second set of larger digits ( which would have been a larger dollar amount ), I asked to speak with her supervisor. She put me on with a person, XXXX, who said I was at risk and take this next step. He provided me with his phone number : XXXX XXXX. I told him I was uncomfortable with the situation and was going to call my primary bank, Citi, to investigate. At this I hung up and called Citi to report the fraud. On my call with XXXX today at Citi, I was told that my claim was denied. I am dumfounded by this decision. I am the unfortunate victim of a fraudulent transaction and I expect Citi to stand behind me. I would be glad to get a phone record from XXXX if helpful to your investigation. Please call me at XXXX XXXX XXXX if you have any questions for me about this submission. Thank you in advance for a thorough and proper investigation, XXXX XXXX Account # XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I was charged for a {$1200.00} transaction on XX/XX/XXXX and Citibank/ bestbuy waited for a month and closed dispute with a wrong reason. Disputed transaction Date : XX/XX/2023 ; Disputed Amount : {$1200.00}. There is no record of this transaction on bestbuy.com for this amount on that date. Bestbuy customer service have told me that there is no record of this transaction. I believe this transaction is showing up because of some odd way bestbuy has been processing a refund of an old transaction. Related transaction date : XX/XX/2023 ; amount : {$1200.00} ; This was TV pickup order i made. I canceled transaction on XX/XX/XXXX without picking up tv and bestbuy refunded that amount. 2nd related transaction date : XX/XX/2023 ; Amount : {$1100.00} ; I made a different transaction on XX/XX/2023 for {$1100.00} for same TV pickup and I picked up the tv. From my pov, {$1200.00} transaction on XX/XX/XXXX was canceled and refunded on XX/XX/XXXX. I made a separate transaction for tv pickup that i pickedup for which i was rightly charged {$1100.00}. Reason provided by credit card card company for closing dispute without refund : I pickedup the tv. Why i contest the reason : 1 ) I canceled that order completely 2 ) I pickedup TV by placing a completely new order and was charged for it 3 ) the old transaction shows up as canceled on bestbuy.com and bestbuy customer service also confirmed that it is completely canceled and i should not have been charged. I dont understand two things. 1 ) Why will a {$1200.00} transaction suddenly appear on XX/XX/XXXX on my credit card when it was refunded on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ) How can a transaction amount appear on a different date on my credit card when my bestbuy.com account shows it as canceled and refunded and there is no record of this transaction 3 ) Why does bestbuy/ citi take more than one month on this dispute and resolve it without adequately investigating or explaining to me

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the severe issues I have encountered with CitiBank and their Priority account services. On two separate occasions, first in XX/XX/XXXX and again in XX/XX/XXXX, I opened an account with CitiBank, only to face the same distressing situation that ultimately led to the closure of my account. In XX/XX/XXXX, I had planned a family trip outside the country during XXXX week. As a responsible account holder, I contacted CitiBank well in advance to inform them of my travel plans, ensuring a smooth usage of my card. CitiBank assured me that they had made the necessary notes on my account and even provided details regarding spending and cash withdrawal limits, emphasizing that it would not pose any issues during my travels. Relying on this information and for safety reasons, I carried minimal cash and planned to withdraw additional funds from ATMs upon arrival at my destination. However, upon using an ATM, I was only able to withdraw {$230.00} USD. Subsequently, my account 's withdrawal limits were downgraded from {$2000.00} to {$500.00}, leaving me unable to withdraw any further cash outside of the {$230.00}. This unexpected limitation forced me to spend numerous hours and days of my vacation on the phone with Citibank 's customer service. During these frustrating interactions, Citibank verified that there were no fraudulent activities on my account and attempted to restore the account to its original limits. Regrettably, resolving this issue required multiple calls, frequent call drops, and extended hold times spanning hours. Each time, I had to repetitively explain the situation to different representatives. Finally, when my account was restored, I attempted to use the ATM once again, only to encounter the same problem of being unable to withdraw cash. I tried multiple ATMs across different banks, all yielding the same disappointing outcome. This situation further compounded my distress, leading to more calls, dropped calls, and extensive hold times. The inadequate communication with overseas call centers and the poor call reception exacerbated the already dire situation. As a result, my vacation turned into a series of exhausting days spent on the phone with Citibank instead of enjoying quality time with my family. Stranded in a foreign country without cash during XXXX week, I encountered severe limitations in various places that did not accept credit cards. Citibank offered no viable solutions or explanations for the recurring issue, continuously blaming the ATMs I used, despite my attempts at different banks and machines. Ultimately, Citibank suggested that the problem might have been a credit card chip malfunction and proceeded to cancel my card altogether. It is essential to note that this was a new card that had only allowed me to withdraw money once before ceasing to function. In conclusion, my XX/XX/XXXX trip was marred by a distressing experience in a foreign country, where my family 's holiday and vacation were significantly impacted due to being limited to a mere {$230.00}. Citibank failed to provide any reasonable explanation for this recurring issue, consistently resorting to excuses until finally closing the account, citing a chip malfunction. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with Citibank from XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX mirrored the circumstances I faced in XXXX. Once again, I could only withdraw {$230.00} initially, followed by a temporary restoration of the account that allowed a withdrawal of {$160.00}. However, shortly after, I was again unable to withdraw any cash again. This time, I was better prepared for such an occurrence, but my experience with Citibank remained unchanged. My withdrawal limits were arbitrarily reduced from {$2000.00} to {$500.00}, and I was bombarded with excuses, including a representative 's unfounded claim that the ATMs I used had no cash. This assertion was clearly absurd, as ATMs generally display an " Out of Service '' message when lacking funds. Moreover, previous individuals had successfully withdrawn cash from those ATMs. On the XXXX XXXX XXXX, I went as far as emailing the branch manager XXXX XXXX XXXX who opened my account and never even acknowledged my email. I spent hours on phone calls, frequent call drops, and repetitive explanations were the norm. Every representative I spoke to offered the same excuses and even suggested that the chip on the card was damaged once again. It is evident that nobody at Citibank possesses a comprehensive understanding of the situation, as they have been unable to provide a satisfactory resolution or a clear explanation for the recurring issue. Therefore, I kindly request a thorough investigation into these incidents to prevent their reoccurrence not only for me but for others who might face similar challenges. I implore you to ensure that someone with the necessary authority and expertise at Citibank provides me with a clear and logical explanation for these repeated incidents. Transparency is of utmost importance, and it is crucial that Citibank takes accountability for the distress caused by its inadequate customer service and unresolved issues. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a prompt resolution and your assistance in rectifying this situation.

Consumer Complaint: I already had a Best Buy credit card, and when i XXXX to a new state I did not get a new card in time. They have a cool feature that if you give them your social they can look up your card info and charge that Bestbuy card digitally. The person ringing up my items tried to get another card in my name, or just negligence on his part but he ran another credit card resulting in a bad pull. I was denied obviously since I already had a card, but the inquiry will not drop off for two years. I have emailed citi Best Buy services during the time of XX/XX/2022. They told me it would take 90 days for them to respond to the claims. Ive been trying to reach them for months with no updates, and the hard pull is still on my record.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX one of my citi cards was updated to a rewards card then reversed without my consent, see previous complaint. I filed formal complaint with Citibank on that employee. XX/XX/XXXX without warning my credit was decreased significantly and without provocation on both my Citi accounts ( 1 card went from {$13000.00} to {$8800.00} and 1 card went from {$7700.00} to {$4800.00} ) odd credit limit number right?. I contacted Citi executive department for some resolution with no formal explanation and the problem was NOT repaired. I expressed that decreasing someone's credit limit based on credit bureau makes no sense seeing that I was over XXXX at that time. This action would cause havoc within the credit bureaus ( now at XXXX ) and thus showing what damage it caused. Earlier this week XX/XX/XXXX ( just 3 months later ) Citi has decided to decrease the credit limit once again ( XXXX card went from {$8800.00} to {$5400.00} and 1 card went from {$4800.00} to {$2000.00} ) again an odd number. Conveniently as I pay each card down it decreases just above the amount I owe. Which in turn causes the credit bureaus to adjust based on the percentage owed. My oldest credit is 24 plus years old and for the past 10 years I have over 100 % on time payment. I have excellent credit limits with all my creditors except for Citibank now ... seems odd? ( I have paperwork that can be attached ).
