Consumer Complaint: I submitted a bill pay payment to a contractor in the amount of {$71000.00} on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX This contractor does not have electronic payments enabled for bill pay, so Capital One was supposed to send him a paper check, and they were supposed to receive it by XXXX They never received the check and I don't know if it was sent. Capital One debited the money from my account. I waited to see if it was lost in the mail until XXXXXXXX I called them and asked them for a stop payment on the check, and to refund money into my account. Originally, I was provided with the date that I would receive a provisional credit to my account by XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I did not receive that credit, so I called back that day. On that day, I was told that I would receive a credit by today, XX/XX/XXXX. I didn't receive a credit today. I called back, and was finally told that I would receive a credit by the end of this week. I don't trust this to be resolved in a timely manner, and I really need the money back due to bills that I have upcoming.

Consumer Complaint: Case Number # XXXX On XX/XX/2023 I went to XXXX which is a know auction site and attempted to purchase two diamond rings for {$1100.00} online from third-party seller XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2023 After receiving invoice but no shipping or tracking information I emailed and called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and spoke with a rude XXXX XXXX agent over the phone, that let me know I would never be ordering from this company again. Then The Same day I received a reply email with the shipping & tracking information and when checked, item had been created with XXXX XXXX. Tracking # XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2023 item successfully, delivered to address on front door step and received by me and my wife. Upon inspection all temper evident was sealed and shipping bag was taped well. After opening package and noticing none of my online purchase items were inside packaging. I immediately called seller and gave them notice that both items were not received and I immediately receive rude and suspicious treatment, so immediately I called my credit card company capital one to dispute transaction XX/XX/2023 Item was removed from credit card account, but charged back XX/XX/2023 my dispute letter was denied XX/XX/2023 and now Im reaching out Because I know and believe that XXXX XXXX is defrauding its customers and have reached out to host site XXXX & have been told that they have had several Claims This Year also about empty box shipments and items not being received. from this third-party seller XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX i noticed two withdrawals each a little over {$1000.00} withdrawn from my joint checking account done at a XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX in XXXX, MA. immediately i reached out to my partner and was notified that over the prior weekend my partners phone drivers license all banking cards and banking information had been stolen. the individuals then on XX/XX/XXXX transferred {$8000.00} dollars from a savings account a proceeded to withdraw a total of {$2000.00}. a claim was reported with capital one bank XX/XX/XXXX and i was told all cards had been locked by capital one. XX/XX/XXXX i woke up to a XXXX negative balance after being told my cards were locked the day prior that balace was too disputed. fastforwarding to today XX/XX/XXXX capital one denies all claims due to login activity and electronic activity. i am declaring that capital one has not done a thourough investigation into my claims and has made false staments and has not stuck to their words. my account is fdic insured so any claim of fraud should be reinsured up tp {$250000.00} i do not want to bring litigation against capital one but i will if i have to

Consumer Complaint: The check was approved for deposit, I was advised to destroy the check and monies would be avail XXXX. Then I get an email saying After an in-depth review of the check deposit ( s ) you made on XXXX XXXX, 2023 into your account ending in XXXX, we believe there's an increased risk that the deposit may return based on confidential information that indicates the check may not be paid. To protect you from this potential risk, we've decided to delay the availability of all or part of {$1400.00} until XX/XX/XXXX. Which sounds like the same info. Then on XXXX I get an email from the security dept. We're restricting your Capital One 360 account ( s ) until we can verify your recent account activity. Based on the results of our review, your account ( s ) may be closed and your balanceplus all interest earnedwill be transferred to your externally linked checking account. If you don't have an externally linked checking account or if the account linked is no longer open, a check will be mailed within 7-10 business days to the address on file. I reply asking whats going on and never get a response.

I noticed this been done when i tried applying for an apartment and my credit report had all of these credit cards account open which affected my credit scores and opportunity to get the apartment. I need my credit to be repaired and to remove all of these fraud accounts that were open without my knowledge. It isnt fair for me to be stuck and having to pay for something i didnt authorize.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I was sent a request to apply for a credit card with Capital One to see if I was preapproved. I went through the application process. They showed me that I was preapproved for two secure credit card options. One of the options was the Capital One XXXX card secured along with the regular Capital One credit card secured. Then I was denied stating that they couldnt confirm my information with XXXX. That isnt true. Capital one stated that by making this inquiry it would not have an effect on my credit score. That isnt true. My XXXX score drop by XXXX points by them stating it would not have an impact on my score .My score with XXXX XXXX by XXXX points. This needs to be corrected. My score shouldnt be allowed to drop by FCRA by using false advertisment by Capital One. This inquiry did make a hugh impact on my credit report. I would like them to be held accountable for false advertising. This isnt right for the consumer. I want my score back up with XXXX by the XXXX points dropped along with the XXXX points with XXXX. I have prestine credit. I only have XXXX credit card. Please get this error and false advertisement rectified. Best Regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I applied for a capital one credit card on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Capital one denied me saying " they couldn't adequately get my report because it was frozen ''. My credit was frozen at the time. I then went to unfreeze it to reapply, however, before I reapplied they already put a hard inquiry on my report. I checked my credit score to see 2 hard inquiries one on the XXXX and one on the XXXX. I sent a letter to capital one to have it removed over 75 days ago but I have not heard back. Please have these reports removed, thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Good afternoon, There was a recurrent purchase for a XXXX last year in XX/XX/2022 with a card ending in XXXX. In inadvertently purchased a new XXXX account in XX/XX/2022 with the same company with a card ending in XXXX ( Capital One ). The XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) company did not notify me and I was unaware that I had made XXXX purchases with the same company for the exact same service. This year after the XXXX payment was drafted, I received an email that a recurrent charge of another {$89.00} charge would be billed to my account with card ending in XXXX. I reached out to the XXXX company and let them know that my XXXX card had already been debited in XXXX and to cancel my account ending in XXXX immediately in XXXX of this year before the billing due date. I also requested a credit for the time that I was paying twice for the same service, which they declined. The XXXX company then charged my account once again in XXXX for {$89.00}. I have since cancelled my service with the XXXX XXXX and disputed the second charge with my credit card company ( Capital One ). I sent them all supporting email documents ( the email chain is somewhat repeating, but my request is on or around XX/XX/XXXX ) with the XXXX company regarding the cancellation request in XXXX of this year and explained as I have here what had transpired. They did not credit my account and closed the dispute claim. Please let me know what recourse I have to receive a credit and/or reopen the case. Thanks for your quick action regarding this matter.

Consumer Complaint: According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC 1681 section 602 states, There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities for fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX are consumer reporting agencies and I am the Consumer. I have the right to make sure my private information isnt shared which is backed by 15 USC 6801 which states It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic information. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are financial institutions by definition under that title. Pursuant to 15 USC 1681a, ( 2 ) Exclusions : ( A ) ( i ) report containing information solely as to transactions or experiences between the consumer and the person making the report ; Reporting Transaction history is illegal. Per 15 USC 1681b Permissible purposes of consumer reports -In accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. I never gave written instructions authorizing the creditor to send my personal information to any credit bureau. The Creditor did not get my consent to add anything to my consumer report, which is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. -P.L . 90-321 ( 82 Stat. 146 ), states that any agency can only get my consumer report in response to a request by the head of a State or local child support enforcement agency ( or a State or local government official authorized by the head of such an agency ). 15 USC 1681 section 604 section 2 states that In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are the financial institutions and the Consumer reporting agencies XXXX, XXXX and XXXX do not have my consent to furnish this information and they surely do not have my written consent. Any and all consent to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ; Also Portfolio XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX whether it be verbal, non-verbal, written, implied or otherwise is revoked. 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ) states that A financial institution may not disclose nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party unlessthe consumer is given an explanation of how the consumer can exercise that nondisclosure option. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; Never informed me of my right to exercise my nondisclosure option. Not only that, 15 USC 1681C ( a ) ( 5 ) states, Except as authorized under subsection ( b ), no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information any other adverse item of information, other than records of convictions of crimes which antedates the report by more than seven years. These accounts are adverse items they are reporting again without my permission which is against the law. 15 USC 1681s 2 ( A ) ( 1 ) states, A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. 15 USC 1681e states Every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to avoid violations of section 1681c of this title and to limit the furnishing of consumer reports to the purposes listed under section 1681b of this title. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are not maintaining reasonable procedures. Also 12 CFR 1016.7 states that A consumer may exercise the right to opt out at any time. I am opting out of your reporting services to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX.
