Consumer Complaint: This company stated the accounts with them were charged off. They also sold these account to debt collectors and so they were indeed paid for the account. Debt collectors are now telling me I owe them for a debt. I need the balance to reflect as it should be which is XXXX. This company also did not provide me with my copy of the 1099c for their financial cancellation of this debt. If they did then that would be clear evidence that this is no longer owed. Its improper to state I owe something that they received payment for whether it be by government or myself. I need full accounting records showing they were never paid by the government which is obligated to pay for all public debts and if indeed they were then I do not owe them anything. If they can not provide that then this account should be removed.

Consumer Complaint: I had loaned a relative money for a home transaction in XXXX XXXX. He banks at Capitol One. Recently the house sold and he deposited the proceeds from the sale into a separate checking account at Capitol One which would be used to pay me back. First he called Capitol One to try to wire the funds to me and was told he could not do that, as the amount exceeded their individual-to-individual limit. He was initially told that the only way to get the funds to me was to mail/send me a cashiers check, as we live in different states. That was a poor idea to send a cashiers check of this magnitude through the mail or otherwise. Ultimately, after elevating the call 3 times, it was suggested that we establish a joint account ( he and I on the account ) at Capitol One and he could simply do an internal transfer from his personal account into the new joint account and then I could transfer the funds into my personal accounts. So, we did that. However, when I tried to transfer the funds the following day I learned the funds can not be accessed, even though they appear in the new joint account. I called the Capitol One phone number included in the notice and was told that there was nothing I could do to access the funds ; rather there was something that my relative had to do and only he could do, that would make the funds accessible and that I needed to tell my relative to call the bank to take the action they required. I contacted my relative, they contacted the bank late in the day. My relative was told that there is nothing he can do to make the funds accessible ; rather that both he and I must be on a phone call to the bank! As we live in different states, in different time zones and he has a very demanding job, this is difficult to accomplish. It should be illegal for Capitol One to hold these funds and make them inaccessible by the owners of the funds for no reason and keep telling us changing requirements of what we must do to access unencumbered money which belongs solely to us. I called Capitol One again to explain/complain about this and was told there was no one I could speak to at a higher level than the customer service manager I was talking to. Seriously, this should be illegal. I feel that the bank has stolen our funds! And also, as Capitol One has no branches in the two states we are located, neither of us can go in person to resolve this matter. Untenable situation!

Consumer Complaint: I have capital one 360 checking account and I never used my debit cards. In addition the debit cards are locked in safe box, it has no way for other people to steal my debit car numbers and security code. But in XX/XX/ around XXXX XXXX New York time my debit card was charged twice by XXXX for {$19.00} each. I immediately called Capital One and have them to replace my debit cards and I am waiting them to resolve this security issue. I strongly believe that Capital One 360 bank system is/was hacked. Consumer Complaint: I was a victim of identity theft, and i'm not sure how my credit keeps getting compromised however i need this off of my credit IMMEDIATELY!!! I have already filed a police report an a FTC report for this Incident and I've also filed a report with the 3 credit bureaus ( XXXX, XXXX, and also XXXX ) for this account. ( Capital One ) ( Account # XXXX ) ( opened on XX/XX/2023 ) According to the FRA 605B of congress you'll have to comply with these Regulations of having this collection account closed and removed, and if not, I will be taking ( Capital One ) and also ( The three Credit Bureaus ) to court seeking punitive damages of {$1000.00} per occurrence. Thank You and I look forward to an instant resolution to this matter.

Consumer Complaint: My complaint is in regards too an offer being offered by Capital One 360. When I logged into my mobile app, there was an offer that indicated if I opened a 360 Performance Savings account, depending on the amount of money deposited into the account I could receive a bonus up to {$1000.00}. My initial deposit would have been {$30000.00}. However, when trying to access the reward it disappeared and when I went back into my account it was no longer there. I called the customer service number and the associate that I spoke with indicated that this was a glitch and that I should not have received the offer for the award. He also indicated that three other people had called in with the complaint. Given that it was no fault on my end, and the fact that associate indicated that it was an issue on the bank 's side, the offer should have been honored. The fact that the bank has refused to honor a offer that they marketed to me is unacceptable.

It appears this pathetic disgusting company isn't satisfied with annoying the XXXX out of everyone with their incessant repeated ads, but they have to harass us through the mail as well with repeated unwanted credit card solicitations. It stated, " Serious person needed urgently for the job ; work from home job {$600.00} per week ... 100 % legit ; it doesn't disturb your current job if you already have one ; location and working experience doesn't matter ; will pay you in advance to give you assurance of steady pay ; for full details and application visit https : XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I click the link sent and applied. XXXX @ XXXX from XXXX - I received confirmation text of my application. XXXX @ XXXX from XXXX - I received another confirmation text of my application. Then I received a text by someone named XXXX XXXX. He asked if I was still interested. XXXX @ XXXX - He texted to please let him know if I'm not interested in the job so that he can contact the next applicant. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted, " Yes, I'm interested. " XXXX @ XXXX - He that that my duties were to shop for gifts, pay bills and receive mail and packages. He asked if he could trust me with this job. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted, " Yes, no problem. " XXXX @ XXXX - He texted that I got the job and proceeded to verify name and address. XXXX @ XXXX - He texted that he supplies artwork to a company recently so he will instruct them to issue a check for {$1900.00} to me. He instructed me to deposit said check to my bank account once received then deduct {$600.00} as my 1st weeks wages and keep the remaining {$1300.00} safe for him and if I understood. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted yes then asked, " Can I also get a copy of the invoice proved to my email XXXX? '' No response. XXXX @ XXXX - He texted that he will keep me posted with all the necessary details once the check is mailed out to me and to save his contact info. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted I understood. XXXX @ XXXX - He texted that the check has been delivered to my mailbox that day and asked when will I be able to deposit the check. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted, " Same day received. " XXXX @ XXXX - XXXX received mailed check and reviewed it and the envelope it came in ( check, dated XX/XX/2022, was written from a XXXX XXXX check with what seemed incomplete/fake street address, drawn from a company called XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WA XXXX ; XXXX from XXXX XXXX Co XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX ) . I texted that it may take up to 5 business days for the check to clear and texted him some of my concerns such as why the check company/location and the senders company/location weren't the same ; what assurances did I have that if the check doesn't clear for whatever reason, that I'm not held responsible ; once deposited, am I using my check card to the account to pay COD ; before depositing the check, I needed a receipt or invoice associated to the transaction that I was performing and for it to be sent to my email. XXXX @ XXXX - He texted in response stating, " First, the check will clear within 24 hrs, not 5 days. I told you the check is from the person I supplied artwork so the company is one of his companies and company is not his residence. You are to deduct {$600.00} as your first week pay then send {$1300.00} to the artwork seller. No transaction receipts will be sent to you because you are just my PA... You can mail the check back if you are not interested in the job anymore. Thanks '' XXXX @ XXXX - I texted, " XXXX '' XXXX @ XXXX - He texted me XXXX XXXX and asked when will I be able to deposit the check. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted that it was done but hasn't cleared yet. He texted to send the picture or screenshot of the deposit. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted him a screenshot of my email confirmation of the check deposit. XXXX @ XXXX - He texted asking if I made a mobile XXXX @ XXXX - I texted XXXX @ XXXX - He texted that the money will be available sooner, not 5 days. To let him know once the money is available in my account. XXXX @ XXXX - I texted XXXX @ XXXX - He texted to keep him posted tomorrow. Afterwards I looked up the company on the check and sent a note to them, via there website, asking if someone from accounts payable can contact about a check that was supposedly written by them. A gentleman by the name of XXXX called and stated that the check was fraudulent and that it will be rejected if cashed. He explained as a protection of their finances, they have to scan each check they write to a system that tracks fraud so that aren't liable for fake checks written in they company name. I told him thank you for the info and stopped all contact with individual named XXXX XXXX. Once it was confirmed that the check was fraudulent, I immediately called Capital One fraud department and left a vm about the check, not to cash it. Later I filed a complaint online with the FBI. **A few days later my bank account ( s ), checking AND savings, were closed by the bank indefinitely, with the explanation that fraudulent activity occurred with my checking account and that Capital One wanted no longer to do business with me. I was appalled and felt victimized twice... once from the check sender and once from the bank. XXXX - Filed report w/FTC ( report # XXXX )

Consumer Complaint: I shopped at XXXX store XXXX in XXXX XXXX, XX/XX/2022. I spent XXXX but my Capitol One card declined the transaction so I had to use my XXXX debit card instead. My Capitol One statement for XXXX showed the XXXX charge. I also got my XXXX bank statement that showed the XXXX for XX/XX/XXXX XXXX called Capitol One and disputed the charge. The charge was removed in XXXX statement XXXX. I had stopped using the Capitol One card but I did use the card XX/XX/2022 online for XXXX. I had a XXXX on my Capitol One account. I sent Capitol One a copy on my receipt that says Capitol One declined the purchase XX/XX/2022. The receipt says another credit card was used. I am sending pictures of my receipt and XXXX bank statement with the charge from XXXX with the XX/XX/2022 charge.

Consumer Complaint: I received an email on XX/XX/2023 that an account was opened under my name with my social security with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. I called them the same day ask received the email and they closed the account for me, they informed that the account was closed and they I should call up to the 3 credit bureaus to let them know. I did receive another email that they tried again the next day ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) but it didn't go further than that. THEN, I received an email on XX/XX/2023, that someone had opened an account under Capital One. I called them, I informed them about an account that was opened using my security information, including legal name XXXX street address, email, and social security number. They verbally told me the account was closed, that it would take up to 3 months to fully close the account.
