Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 : I opened a XXXX XXXX XXXX account online with Capital One and immediately transferred XXXX via ACH from my XXXX XXXX checking to my new Capital One account. The funds show as withdrawn from my XXXX checking account on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/2023 : I received a notification via email from Capital One to fund my savings acount in order to prevent it from automatically closing. The email also said to disregard the notice if I've already funded the account, so I disregarded it. XX/XX/2023 : I signed into my Capital One account, planning to make another transfer from my XXXX XXXX account to my Capital One account. This is when I saw a message that my funds are not available for withdrawal ( despite it being an ACH transaction ) and to contact customer service. My available balance, however, shows as XXXX I will contact Capital One tomorrow, but I wanted to file a complaint in the meantime because it's very concerning that Capital One never once reached out to me to say that there's an issue with my account or with my deposit despite having plenty of time to do so. I have no idea what the issue is just logging into the website or app. What if I had needed access to these funds in an emergency and only found out then that Capital One put a hold on my deposit without informing me via email, mail, or phone? The lack of communication here is a big concern. It seems they're ok with taking my money and staying quiet about any issues.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I was charged in XXXX of XXXX by XXXX XXXX, a photography company, who went out of business. I used my Capital One credit card. XXXX XXXX was supposed to cover my wedding and did not provide any services. They went out of business with no viable solution to cover my wedding. An " insider '' with the company emailed me to file a dispute to attempt to get my money back. But the contract specifically states if I file a dispute I will not get my money back or services. It is my thought that this was a set up by XXXX XXXX to keep my money AND not provide services. They stopped responding to emails. They shut down their phone line. There was no ability to resolve and nothing was done by the company to schedule services. I then decided to file a dispute with Capital One. I should not have to pay for a company who took my money, rendered no services, and shut down with no back up plan to cover one of the most significant days of my life. I jumped through the hoops of filing the dispute, I gave every single bit of documentation Capital One requested, as well as other statements from others who had the exact same thing happen. This was a scam company and it was very clear that they charged me with no intent to photograph my wedding. Capital One resolved the dispute, but not in my favor. I still owe the original money paid to the photographer and the fees. The reason was that the charge was over 60 days old. It is absolutely unreasonable to think a wedding photography deposit would be under 60 days old when services are not rendered. I was told to resolve my issue with the company. There is no longer a company to resolve this with. I want my money back.

Consumer Complaint: Summary : XX/XX/XXXX - I rented XXXX # XXXX on XXXX XXXX, FL for XXXX. I made 1st payment {$22000.00} with my Capital One Visa card. XX/XX/XXXX - Hurricane Ian devastated XXXX XXXX and much of SW Florida. I phoned XXXX support who advised me not to make 2nd and 3rd payments and they tried to reach owner with no luck. XX/XX/XXXX - I messaged the owner discussing the hurricane and asking for a refund. He never responded. XX/XX/XXXX - I saw the only review for this property dated XX/XX/XXXX entitled, " Unhealthy, dishonest, not as advertised, BEWARE. '' XXXX XXXX XXXX, the reviewer, did not stay there and hired a professional who proved mold infestation. She eventually received a refund based on the mold infestation report. She shared the report with me. I continued to ask XXXX for proof of mold remediation for the next 2 1/2 months. Received none. XX/XX/XXXX - I provided photos of the hurricane damaged property & damaged properties to left and right. Witnesses spoke to a man who had been working " for 2 months '' on the hurricane damaged property and he said hurricane water surge had entered the house. XX/XX/XXXX - I discovered the property had been re-listed with a new XXXX # XXXX with the review describing mold infestation REMOVED. I notified XXXX. No response. In its Denial Statement, XXXX relies on two reasons for denial : 1- the rental had a " no cancellation/refund '' policy and 2- based on information provided by the owner following Hurricane Ian, the property was in good condition. Capital One Visa supported XXXX and discounted my proof denying a refund.
