Consumer Complaint: I am in the process of buying a home. I learned that there was an alleged debt owed to Capital One being pursued by a collection agency named XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. This was a surprise because I am confident I paid the debt in 2020. At that time I settled a couple of delinquent accounts with credit card companies and medical bills. It is my recollection that XXXX XXXX XXXX first contacted me about this debt and subsequently XXXX XXXX began collection efforts on behalf of this debt. Because of the time that has passed, I contain locate the records. Therefore, I contacted XXXX to get information. I also contacted Capital One. Neither entity has responded. I provided the CFPB a copy of that letter. I believe the parties have failed to verify this debt because it was in fact paid to one of the collection agencies but my account was not credited. Moreover, I believe this debt may be time barred pursuant to the statute of limitations. I believe my recollection of the events is correct because for a period of time after 2020 this debt did not appear on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of Identity Fraud. There is a capital one account on my file, even though it shows paid and closed that account is not associated with me. I reached out to the creditor directly and they sent me a form which i signed and sent back to them confirming that the account was made by someone that wasn't me and that I t was not authorized by me. I also reached out to all 3 credit bureaus, XXXX, XXXX, And XXXX. XXXX AND XXXX Were able to verify that the account did not belong to me but XXXX reported the account back on my file. I need the CAPITAL ONE ACCOUNT TO STAY CLOSED AND BLCOKED FROM SHOWING ON MY FILE. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE IT NOR DID I GIVE ANY ONE PERMISSION TO FURNISH THIS INFORMATION ON ANY OF MY CREDIT FILES. The company is breaking the law per 15 usc 1681b.

Consumer Complaint: Hi Sirs, Have a problem with Capitol One card. I had it almost two years with payments paid after being posted.. I provided a document with my complaint. I asked Capitol One to increase my limit. they keep on insisting i charged low. However, I charged about XXXX XXXX on the card last month, then i paid it off in full. After that i asked again for an increase. they decline it. This is the problem i have with them. I have to go into dept to get an increase, so they can go after me. I talk it over with others and we both determined it is a scam.I dont like dealing with scammers, It is something how these companies are gettin away with stuff. if nobody deals with them.
