Consumer Complaint: Capital one savor one suddenly and abruptly cancelled my account and sent me an email on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX in the morning stating they were closing my account on XX/XX/XXXX ( makes no sense ) due to purchase activity has not been consistent with our expectations of how consumer accounts are used. I use my card frequently and I always pay off my card. Absolutely frustrating Ive been a customer for XXXX years. I tried to resolve it with the customer service but they stated they dont know the reason and they can not undo it because they are a third party customer service. They recommend that I send a letter to the actual capital one bank with questions and concerns. Which does nothing for me.

Consumer Complaint: Capital one Bank claims that I physically went to XXXX and physically gave them my debit card, and that I inserted my chip card into XXXX physical credit/debit card machine and purchased {$500.00} worth of merchandise. I did not do that, I did not purchase any thing from XXXX. Even more interesting Capital One claims that this is what their investigations found. I feel very uncomfortable at the fact that Capital one has my personal information, because for them to claim their investigators found that I went into a physical XXXX store and gave XXXX my credit card and used my chip to purchase is a lie, because there is no such thing as an XXXX store. I recorded the conversations so its clarified that Capital one continues to lie and has been charging my bank card and credit card for charges that I did not make, and what's more alarming is they've been doing so internally. Meaning capital one has been charging my cards for months. The first time this was done was was in 2020, they charged my card for {$600.00}, and I did not pursue it as I should have, but now I've been calling them and noticed its the same lie they tell.. The attached XXXX videos were recorded his morning, its of me speaking to two capital one reps, I've called multiple times and have spoken to very questionable people, who appear to be fraudsters or engaging in fraud, who claim to work for capital one bank. I've posted these on my XXXX XXXX Capital one recording with supervisor XXXX : XXXX : XXXX? XXXX Capital one recordings talking to capital one agent : XXXX : XXXX? XXXX Capital one recordings talking to XXXX XXXX agent part XXXX : XXXX : XXXX? XXXX & XXXX The recordings prove that Capital one is engaging in fraud, they never investigated anything and the problem is with their banking debit and their credit services. They are just making false stories up.

Consumer Complaint: First I want to freeze my credit report because somebody that I dont know using my information or or a representative works at credit bureaus thats in my information and messing with my credit. I work foXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX location and for me to get my employee discount I have to apply for a credit card XXXX, XXXX capital one so the HR of XXXX XXXX send me a link and I played on it and after I got my credit card its shows that im not employee with XXXX and I called capital one asking what wrong, they told ask ur HR to switch this personal account your employee account so I went to the HR but hes sad that I can not and asked me to close the account and applied in the store for a new one, which is I dont have to in the employee policy. Its sad always ask HR to switch personal account to employee account. So I called the capital one. I told them what the HR said and they close the account and I applied for the other one next day so they send me a new credit card I try to use it and same thing I have to ask the HR to switch personal account to employee account so I called capital one again. Ask him why you closed the first account and he told me because you want to which is its a lie hundred percent. And XXXX XXXX that I never had

Consumer Complaint: I opened card with Capital One in XXXX. I made payments on time and had a very good credit report. XXXX XXXX I fond out that there had been fraudulent charges on my account. I was told my account was frozen. I have not been able to get statements or have access to my account. I have written letters and made multiple calls to Capital One in the past 8 months and still no statements or information about my account until they could " verify '' I am who I say I am. On XX/XX/XXXX I was finally told that my information has been verified and was allowed to be informed what was going on with my account. I was then told that {$5000.00} has been added to my account in late fee 's, interest and charges that I don't agree I made. I attempted to log into my account and I am locked out. I have requested assistance in getting my state ments. No one that I have spoken with is able to get me access. I have been told twice my statement s are in the mail, but yet to receive them. I have receive bill via e-mail stating that over {$3000.00} is due before XX/XX/XXXX. I have spoke with multiple representatives for the fraud and to complain. I have been told that I would receive a call back concerning my account and not receiving calls back. When I do call back, I am on the phone for 1-2 hours repeatedly answering the same questions and told they can not get me back to the representative I recently spoke with even when I tell them there name and contact ID. I am willing to pay on the charges that I charged. However as I was told that My account is frozen and I receive no communication from XXXX XXXX XXXX on the progress of my account, I will not be responsible for late fees and interest rates. I believe that I should have my account summary to review the charges on my account is made Because my card # is requested I want to add the only card I ever received ended in XXXX. My identity has been associated with a card ending in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX from the conversations with Capital representatives. My identity was also associated with a bank account and the e-mail bill I did receive for {$3000.00} due XXXX is for the account ending in XXXX. No other # s and never received a card

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX received an email stating my credit card was declined for {$3.00} at XXXX XXXX XXXX and it was over the limit. Not sure the exact date that I saw the email but that is the date the email came so when I saw it I called Capital one letting them know I have not used the card since XX/XX/XXXX. I also stated these charges were not mine and I did not authorized them. Capital one informed me these charges will be taken care of. My statement also came in for XX/XX/XXXX my balance was {$67.00}. Prior to the statement my balance was {$120.00} and I made a XXXX payment. Once my statement came for XXXX some of the charges were deleted and other remained. I called Capital one on XX/XX/XXXX and I was told since I still have the credit card in my possession that they could not credit all the charges back. I explained I never authorized these charges or did I make these charges. The rep told me that she is sorry they could not credit the account back. I stated again even though I telling you I did not authorize these charges or did I make the charges. The rep stated again they can not credit my account back. I explain if you look at my transaction history prior you will see these are not charges and different from by transaction history. Rep still refused to help me. Told rep I would be calling the CFPB.

Consumer Complaint: Hi opened a Venture X credit card with Capital One, which is supposed to be their top of the line credit card with the best customer service. However, I have found that Capital One uses these large welcome bonuses and high annual fees in a predatory manner. If I spent XXXX in the first 3 months of having the card, I was supposed to receive a XXXX miles welcome bonus. However, at XXXX spent ( conveniently for Capital One ), I was told that my account was restricted and that my income needed to be verified. I was told that I needed to provide 3 months of consecutive bank statements. At first, I was told that I couldn't send in statements from a Capital One bank account, which is absolutely absurd. I had to escalate to a supervisor to be allowed to use my Capital One bank statements. I was also told that I could only send in this bank 's statements, which led me to assume that they were just checking if I had enough to make the payment at the time ( around XXXX ). At no point was I told that I had to prove that the income amount that I had put on the application in this exercise. When I heard back that my account was being closed, I was very confused. I talked to several representatives who all gave me slightly different answers. At this point, it was obvious that Capital One cared only to do the bare minimum for customers. I finally reached a representative that realizes that I would actually be able to prove my income if given the chance to provide additional documents from other banks. She put in a referral to reopen the case, which was then denied. Following the denial, I talked to a representative who could not tell me why the case was unable to be reopened, given that I was not told to provide all sources of income ( and that I had documents to prove my income ). I have spent XXXX dollars which I could have spent on a different card to earn rewards, yet I was scammed by Capital One right before I received my welcome bonus. I have multiple sources of income, including base salary, stock options, and sign on bonuses. I am willing to prove that the number I put on the application is correct. In addition, credit pulls were made to my identity for this account that was involuntary closed within a month. Upon reading online, I have also seen that other customers have faced similar scenarios where they had their accounts suspiciously closed right before or shortly after they were owed the welcome bonus miles. In these situations, Capital One never had to provide monetary compensation for these rewards, which is predatory to the customer. A class action lawsuit may be appropriate in this situation.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I tried to use my card for 4 purchases. All 4 were declined. I contacted the company several times throughout the day regarding these purchases. Now 2 of the charges are showing as posted on XX/XX/23. I spoke with 2 representatives who both admitted the charges were changed from declined to pending, then resulted in charges on my account. One is for XXXX and the other for XXXX. I ended up having to pay cash for 3 of 4 transactions on this day. My neighbor, sons, and husband were witnesses to these charges and declinations by Capital One. I attempted to contact them and was told that since I paid cash for both of the ones posted on my account that they would not refund these transactions.
