Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I placed an order on XXXX and paid using my XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. The order was never received. I reached out to the merchant and was told to dispute the charge with my financial institution. Since the merchant was unable to resolve the issue, I submitted a dispute with XXXX XXXX. A few weeks after disputing the charge, I received a letter from XXXX XXXX asking for supporting documents. I responded to XXXX XXXX with all the requested documents. I was recently rebilled for the charge and received a letter stating, " While we have received your response to this request, it lacks all of the previously requested information needed to validate your claim ''. The letter does not specify what documents they did not receive or what documents I could provide to resolve my dispute. It is clear that XXXX XXXX did not properly review the documents I sent to them. I believe that XXXX XXXX is acting in best interest of the merchant and not protecting their customer.

Issue: Fraud or scam

Consumer Complaint: I, as a resident of Texas, was approached by an individual who claimed to represent The XXXX XXXX, a reputable company within the architectural industry. The imposter, posing as a hiring manager, enticed me with an offer for a remote position as an XXXX XXXX as a XXXX XXXX. Their initial contact appeared legitimate, complete with professionally designed emails bearing The XXXX XXXX 's branding and a convincing tone. As the correspondence progressed, the scammer presented me with a series of official-looking documents, including an employment agreement and onboarding forms. These documents were designed to give an impression of authenticity and professionalism. I, trusting in the genuineness of the opportunity, complied with their requests and followed the provided instructions. One pivotal moment in the scam unfolded when the imposter insisted on an equipment payment to be made prior to commencing work. They send me a deposit check of {$8900.00} provided me with what they claimed to be The XXXX XXXX 's official bank account details, leading me to believe that this was a legitimate requirement. Regrettably, I transferred a sum {$4900.00} of money into the provided account, unknowingly falling victim to this elaborate ruse. Upon completion of the transfer, the deposit from my accout was reversed leaving me at low funds in my bank, and made my account at- {$5000.00} because of the transfer i made with their supposed to be vendor partner. All communication from the scammer abruptly ceased, leaving me in a state of shock and financial distress. I quickly realized that I had become a victim of a well-orchestrated scam, where the perpetrators deliberately misused The XXXX XXXX XXXX name to deceive unsuspecting individuals like myself. Since discovering the scam, I have taken immediate action by reporting the incident to my bank. I have provided them with all available evidence, including the imposter 's bank account information, and any other pertinent details. However, despite these efforts, the progress towards recovering the funds has been minimal, my account was closed and I am to pay the - {$5000.00} on my account from the money scammed from me I kindly request your assistance in investigating this matter further and bringing the perpetrators to justice. The unauthorized use of The XXXX XXXX 's name not only undermines the trust and reputation of a reputable organization but also causes significant financial and emotional harm to innocent individuals like myself. Im willing to provide copies of the fraudulent email communications, bank transfer receipts, and any other supporting documentation I possess. I sincerely hope that this information will aid in your investigation and help ensure that justice is served.

Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: I canceled my Capitol One credit card.on XX/XX/. I have a rewards balance due owed me of {$56.00}. The company told me that a check would be mailed to my address within 60 days. 73 days later. XX/XX/, and no check has arrived. I called the bank at XXXX to ask them to send me my money. Their automated answering system asked me to verify myself by my social security number since I did not have my card number. After going around in circles with the automated system, I finally got to talk to a live person. I reminded them that they owed me money and that it hadn't arrived within the time period they communicated. I asked them directly to send it immediately. The representative said they had to verify it was me. They would not accept the phone number I gave them to send me a security code. They sent me a web page link to my phone that brought up a blank page. They asked me for a land line and I don't have one. All this in attempt to verify my identity and send me a check that they were suppose to send anyway. I got transferred to another person who attempted the very same steps. I think they do not intend to send me the funds they owe me. I wish to file a formal complaint.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Dear Capital One, XX/XX/23 I am writing to formally dispute a charge on my credit card statement related to a purchase from XXXX. I am requesting that the charge be reversed due to misleading information, failure to honor their stated return policy, ongoing difficulties in completing the cancellation request, and technical difficulties encountered during the return process. On XX/XX/23, I purchased XXXX concert tickets from XXXX for an event. Their website clearly stated that the tickets were returnable up to 3 days before the event date. However, circumstances changed, and I needed to buy an additional ticket while ensuring that all three tickets were in the same section. To achieve this, I returned the original XXXX tickets and placed a new order for XXXX tickets on XX/XX/23. Despite adhering to XXXX 's return policy, I did not receive a refund for the original XXXX tickets. Instead, XXXX offered me a promo code to use at a later date on their website. This resolution is unsatisfactory for several reasons. Firstly, I already met the terms of their return policy by placing a new order for XXXX tickets, effectively using the amount from the original order towards the new one. Secondly, I have no use for the extra XXXX concert tickets and do not wish to engage in the business of selling tickets. Lastly, I have no intention of making future purchases through XXXX, rendering a credit on their website worthless to me. Furthermore, I encountered technical difficulties while attempting to complete the return process, which resulted in the return not going through as expected. Despite reaching out to SeatGeek.com for assistance, I was informed that they were not obligated to refund my tickets, even though I made a genuine effort to return them within the specified timeframe. These circumstances have caused me significant frustration, financial loss, and wasted time. I trusted XXXX 's advertised return policy and acted in good faith, only to be denied the refund I am entitled to and faced with ongoing obstacles in completing the cancellation request. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue directly with XXXX, but they have been unresponsive and uncooperative. Therefore, I am seeking your assistance in resolving this dispute. I firmly believe that the charge for the returned tickets should be reversed, given the misleading information, the failure to honor their return policy, the technical difficulties encountered, and the ongoing difficulties in completing the cancellation request.
