Consumer Complaint: I sent a check for payoff for two separate accounts to Capital One. It was applied on XX/XX/XXXX to one single account, leaving a balance on one card and a huge credit on the other. I called XX/XX/XXXX to have that corrected. I was told the only way to have that done was for them to issue a paper check. It would be 7-10 business days before I received that check. XX/XX/XXXX, I called again, having not received a check and still showing a credit on my account. I was told that refund check had not been issued, but they would process this time. I could expect it in another 7-10 business days. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I called again. Check still hasn't been processed and they aren't sure why. So now, assuming they actually cut a check, it will be 5 1/2 weeks that they've had my money. It is affecting my credit score having that balance out there.

Consumer Complaint: Capitolone has been negligent and uncooperative in investigating these fraudalant charges.Presently they reversed the last of two charges that I did not make.A {$400.00} cash advance from an ATM. Recieved today through cfpb that they are " still investigating '' .I am requesting their security team access the CCTV to show who made the cash withdrawal.Safeguards at the ATM were compromised and Capitolone not only did not protect me from the fraud but attempted to make me liable for the fraud.This has cost me time, money and stress.Lastly, Capitolone has compromised user information in the past, as in 2019 with almost one hundred million users.

Consumer Complaint: I filed a complaint with CFPB the response was wrong. I called Capital one today and was told the claim was closed and denied after I sent in police report and did the identity theft report. They will not reopen the claim totaling $ XXXX am told I am out of this money. When I called capital one I stated all pay pal that rep only put in for those charges so I was told cause there was other charges to XXXX my claim was denied. I have sent in proof of my identity being stolen and on my credit wise report my information was on the dark web. They refuse to reopen the claim. I never authorized these transactions nor gave anyone permission. They have the wrong ip address which I sent them. This matter needs to be looked into. I have called the number to speak to XXXX, 2 times left voice mails and she has not called me back.
