Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I financed a new XXXX XXXX XXXX through Capital One Auto Finance. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was involved in an XXXX XXXX, and my car insurance company, XXXX, which is under my XXXX XXXX name, XXXX XXXX, deemed the vehicle a total loss. XXXX determined the value of the car to be {$24000.00}. The balance of the loan was {$22000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, the sum of {$22000.00} was paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX by XXXX, at the direction of Capital One Auto Finance as their payment portal. On XX/XX/XXXX, Capital One Auto Finance accepted the payment from XXXX XXXX XXXX. The vehicle was paid in full. However, Capital One Auto Finance proceeded to report to all XXXX credit bureaus that the XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX payments were XXXX days late. This was not possible, as the car was paid in full, and Capital One Auto Finance accepted the payment prior to the XX/XX/XXXX, due date. I was made aware of these reported late payments when I applied for a XXXX XXXX loan on XX/XX/XXXX, and was denied because of them. I reached out to Capital One Auto Finance on XX/XX/XXXX, in an effort to get them fixed, as the car had been paid in full prior to the XX/XX/XXXX, due date, but they were unable to help me. I disputed the reported late payments through all of the credit bureaus, and Capital One Auto Finance came back stating that they received the payment on XX/XX/XXXX, so the late payments would stand. Again, this is not possible. I have the receipts, including the check number and account information that it was sent to. Their portal company received the money on XX/XX/XXXX, and Capital One Auto Finance received the funds the following day, on XX/XX/XXXX, several days before the XX/XX/XXXX, due date. Due to Capital One Auto Finance reporting payments as late even though they were not, I was denied a home loan and have been unable to purchase a home that would be suited for my XXXX XXXX needs, as he has XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I had a credit card stolen from my residence in California while I was in Oklahoma. I reported the fraud and was told I'd receive a temporary credit from capital one. Now it's 3 days later on Monday and I'm being told I can't receive a temporary credit while the investigation is ongoing. And that I'd receive one once it was completed. It has caused considerable hardship to me and mine and I've been ridiculed, lied to and even hung up on because of my more colorful approach towards handling this with customer service agents. I'm not being treated the same as everyone else who'd get a temporary credit while this was ongoing and as such, I want to initiate a formal complaint against the bank for their unfair and deceptive practices.

Consumer Complaint: I had a car accident on XX/XX/XXXX where I hydroplaned. No other car was involved. The car was taken to an impound lot by the XXXX police. Within the hour, I filed a claim the same day with my insurance, XXXX of which I had full coverage. The car was totaled and undrivable. Capital One Auto was the lien holder to which I was current and ahead on my loan payments through XXXX of XXXX. The car remained in impound for 3 weeks and we contacted Capitol One to make sure they knew it was under an insurance claim. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Capital One stating I had unpaid fees which were impound fees and repossession fees due to the fact insurance never picked up the car nor looked at it. I called that day and was told to have insurance contact them which I did. However, Capitol One did not hold the car for insurance. They picked up the car out of the impound and charged me with impound and repossession fees and SOLD the car for scrap. Again, my car payment was ahead and up to date. During this time, XXXX said they would take care of the fees, look at the car, etc. But every time we called Capital One we were transferred at least 3 times to different departments as no one could give us an answer as to why they were selling the car, even though it was under an insurance claim. In XXXX XXXX my credit report took a hit. Capital One placed a Repo and Charge off on my credit report causing it to drop over 100 points. Since the car was totaled, I had to get a new car but was unable to finance a new one since my credit had taken such a huge hit and had a repossession on it which is still there. I have not been able to finance a car, and this has place a huge burden on me and my family as they have had to be the ones to help with a new car. You will see from the attached document on XX/XX/XXXX, that it states, I had no unpaid late fees or past due payments. And then, in XXXX they send me a letter to tell me how stressful losing a car can be and to work with my insurance company. What a joke - 4 months later. Finally, after 4 months, at the end of XXXX, XXXX paid out the claim and fees owed on to Capital One. We have disputed the credit report with Capital One and they are refusing to take this Repo off my credit and stating it is accurate. I am still not able to finance a car as the creditors see that and think I wasnt responsible for my car payments, even though again, I was current and ahead on my loan payments. Thank you,

The outstanding debt has been paid in full, but it is still showing on my credit report with an open balance of {$820.00}. I sent a letter to all three credit reporting agencies with proof the debt has been settled through Capital One 's third-party collecting agency XXXX XXXX XXXX but XXXXXX/XX/XXXX, I received an alert from XXXX showing the credit bureau added a statement to my credit file that reads, description 1 " consumer disputes- reinvestigation in process '' and 2 " amount in high credit is original charge-off amount. Consumer Complaint: I have an online banking relationship with Capital One, as a customer with multiple accounts. When using the company 's mobile app to deposit a check, the app requires me to enter the amount on the check being deposited and then to upload a picture of the front of the check and the back showing endorsement. However, on occasions when a is HANDWRITTEN, after the check is processed, the company adds additional cents to the amount cashed and deposited as if the check was written for an higher amount, {$0.00} most recently. I closed accounts with Capital One, being offended by this issue, and others. It has happened at least once before previously, approximately in XXXX of 2021, but the account used in now closed and records are not available to me to verify. The amounts have always been less than a dollar, but it would make sense that it could be happening with other customers as well.
