Consumer Complaint: Capital One recently decreased my availability credit without my consent. After doing so my credit score dropped XXXX points which affects my overall credit score. This changed has impacted me during the purchase of a home. The credit card balance is XXXX at this time and has been for months. The credit card was used without my knowledge by an XXXX XXXX, therefore I had no knowledge of the purchase. Capital One denied increasing my available credit without allowing an explanation. I was advised by the loan officer to not spend at this time. This is unfair practice because of the algorithms are used to not recognize all circumstances, people of color, critical resolutions.

Consumer Complaint: LATE PAYMENTS BEING REPORTED DUE TO FRAUDLENT ACTIVITY not done by me. I had two credit cards with Capital One, during my military XXXX these cards were closed due to " fraudlent activity '' I was only notified of this after applying for a home loan, I called capital one numerous times since I became aware of the situation to try to rectify the situation over a period of months, every time I call the customer service line I get a different story. I was told my account was not closed to fraud but due to returned payments to which I never received any notices of any account closures or returned payments. I am IN THE MILITARY XXXX FIGHTING FOR THE COUNTRY and no help has been extended to me to fix the situation then I was told an investigation was done an there was nothing I can do and their decision is final. One representative told me that if I pay the accounts off in full the derogatory information ( late payments ) would be removed and the account would remained continue to be closed, this was not the case and was a complete lie after I paid in full. My credit report still shows XXXX 30 day late payments and XXXX 60 day late payments. I called them to do as they promised, I was told that the only way payments in full would be requested if I wanted to reopen credit cards and that information that the representative shared with me was wrong and I can file a complaint internally but the late payments would remain. my question is how can I be responsible for charges and late fees that was considered fraud but then they say my account status changed and my account was shut down due to returned payments, to which I wasn't notified of this either. This is destroying my credit. I have paid the closed balances off in full and they are insistent on reporting fraudlent late payments, it is not my fault that their customer service representative was not properly trained and gave out improper information. I am requesting that Capital One remove any accounts from my credit report, completely or remove the fraudulent late payments. It provides them no benefit to report this since I caused them no loss and paid the accounts in full.
