Consumer Complaint: The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S. Code 1681 ) says ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. So whenever there is a violation under the FCRA, it impairs the efficiency of the banking system. This is a violation of my privacy with my consumer report, since I control what is listed and what is not. In the event that any accounts are reported without my written consent, that is considered identity theft. This is a violation of both 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2. This leads way to civil liability against the credit reporting agency for negligent and willful noncompliance under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, which allows for {$1000.00} per violation, for account listed without my expressed written consent.

Consumer Complaint: I received an offer letter stating 0 % APR and {$300.00} cash bonus but never received the bonus nor the interest rate. I called Capital one and they told me at the end of the application I was told that I was not approved for the offer and they are going to give me an alternative offer. I has never seen this statement during the application for this credit card. I strongly believe this is a case of bait and switch. I have a picture of the letter that was sent to me. Even if I was not approved for the offer they should have informed me via Email or mail.

Consumer Complaint: I have a capital one venture card that has an annual fee. I called XX/XX/XXXX the first time to ask to downgrade so I dont get charged the annual fee. The cap one rep declined and said I have to wait until the annual fee is charged and then I could get downgraded. Unfortunately I waited so I called back on XX/XX/XXXX after the annual fee was charged. I talked to a rep and then their supervisor after getting declined to get the annual fee waived and the card downgraded. Capital one uses misleading tactics to get people to sign up for their annual fee credit card, charge people despite wanting to cancel, close, or downgrade the credit card to a no annual fee card.

When I informed the person who was telling me that the check was from a scholarship account and was deposited almost a year ago she then looked again and said she cant say what happened. Consumer Complaint: I received an email from Capital One Auto refinace offer for refinace on autos. Applied online and was approved for a XXXX XXXX. When I contact Capital one as requested via phone at XXXX and spoke with XXXXXXXX XXXX she stated she needed me to verfiy information with lender which I did and the at the end of the call they confirmed the amount and lender was correct but had the wrong vehicle. She could not get the matter resolved after XXXX mins and gave me another number to call in the morning. I called XXXX and spoke with XXXX and lead person and explained the same thing and either needed to get the correct vin # which was given or remove the hard hit on my credit. she advised I would have to dispute with the credit reporting agencies. I advise this is Capital one error after holding for her for XXXX. This type of operation should be able to handle this issue without putting a customer through this type issue and time. Please have Capital one either get the correct information to process the refinance for the XXXX or have the hard hits on my credit removed on all 3 credit reports. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: I made frequent payments on my card to keep current due my usage. The beginning of XXXX I made a payment of XXXX and Capital One restricted my card for payment. I contacted Capital One right away to verify payment along with 10 additional calls over the past month XXXX to clear my account. I have yet to get resolution and was informed the fraud management specialist would contact me. I have not heard anything. I called again XX/XX/23 still no resolution. Now my card is reported negative on my credit report for delinquent payment and this unacceptable. Poor business practices within Capital One especially when I am contacting the company to resolve snd continue business.
