Consumer Complaint: Capital One offered me a Spark Business credit card. I applied to the offer and was approved with a {$20000.00} credit limit. I subsequently received a security notice that the account was restricted and I needed to call. I did so and was told to upload documents. Only 10 documents were allowed. I then received a call back from security and they asked for more documents with different requirements. I even opened a personal checking account at the billing address as they instructed. I then attached more documents as requested. I then received yet another call back from security and they asked for yet more documents with different information. Capital One went so far as to tell me to put my personal name on the business bank statement. I do not think this is legal. a business checking account has a business name, not an individual. Further the business address is not the same as my address. So why does Capital One want me to do this?

Consumer Complaint: This creditor engaged in abusive, deceptive, and unfair practices of the FDCPA which it prohibits. According to 15 USC 1666b it is a billing error I did not receive a statement 21 days before the late payment error. If finance charge included, there should be no late payments pursuant 15 USC 1605 ( a ) due to finance charge bring sum of all charges so I can not be penalized for something that is already paid in full.

Consumer Complaint: At around XXXX XXXX. on Wednesday, XX/XX/2023, I tried to buy a tent from an online retailer using my CapitalOne credit card. I had been saving up for this tent and it was the last one in stock. CapitalOne flagged the transaction as suspicious, declined it, and then placed a hold on my account so that I could no longer use my credit card to make purchases. CapitalOne sent me an email and a text message urging me to call them to clear up the matter. I phoned CapitalOne customer service only to find out that the their offices were closed and would not open for several more hours. I also called CapitalOne 's fraud protection office ; they were also closed. I logged into my CapitalOne account online but there was no way to remove the restriction on my card. Thanks to CapitalOne 's unrivaled stupidity, I lost the tent. How can CapitalOne unilaterally restrict my credit card when their customer service office is not open 24 hours and they do not offer any way for customers to remove holds online? What if I was traveling abroad and in an emergency and needed access to my account? This isn't the first time I have trouble with CapitalOne. They are the absolute worst credit card company I have ever dealt with by far. I will be canceling my credit cards with them, and I urge others to do the same.

Consumer Complaint: I have spoke with Capital One Auto Finance office of the president and sent in 1099 c 's that their company has accepted and sent back to me via mail. The accounts are still showing although the debt is XXXX. The company claims they did not discharge the debt and that I am still liable although I have provided all necessary documentation as well as sent it to the companies indentured trustee who is also not responding. I have sent a letter to the indentured trustee with this information also. The IRS has accepted the 1099C and Capital one actually sent me the copy B to the 1099C form, not the IRS. Capital One Auto Finance is stating they did not send that and that if they received anything like that in the mail, it would have been Shredded. This is stated on a recorded phone call with a manager of the office of the president. I have also called 2 times to update My terms and conditions of My contract removing arbitration. I keep getting sent copies of my contact, nowhere to sign stating no arbitration. As I am the holder in due course as I also hold the contract with you, it is my right to change the contract. Also in my last complaint I had used my right as a citizen to opt out of their reporting services citing many laws proving my right to do so. The company came back with XXXX and how it entitles them to report my non public information. According to XXXX, as attached in the documents, you are still violating my rights and this instance does not fall within the XXXX guidelines as an exception. Please forward this 1099C to the indentured trustee of Capital One Auto Finance per your Sec.gov filings and ensure my account is updated. In the meantime, update My account to paid as agreed, never late. There has been no proof besides a statement that I received notice 21 days before the due date of my.statement besides the statement itself. Please provide tracking of all statements sent and proof of delivery. If you can not provide this, you must update them per 15 usc 1666b. 15 usc 1681 ( 2 ) ( a ) ( i ) states transaction history may not be reported. If you are using XXXX to say yes you can report, see the attached that this non public information does not fall under the exceptions of XXXX. Also, I was waiting to make a payment as they stated they were still looking over the 1099-C that they sent to ME to discharge the debt and I have late payments on my account I did pay the account as soon as they told me they would not credit it. I however kept contact and made it known I had no intention of defaulting on my account with them.
