Consumer Complaint: XXXX I enrolled in school and took my important documents with me, that day I lost all my documents including social security, debit card, green card, passport. not just mines but my fathers as well that was with me that day. we did a police report back in that year for the lost documents. XXXX later we found out somebody filed child support issue all the way in TX in case of my dad, but someone else with his information did it, my father has never even left the state or even visited TX ever. I'm not sure where I'm getting a XXXX debt from capital one and not only am I being charged but I'm being sued by a third party. I left in XXXX to join the XXXX XXXX and didn't get home till XXXX XXXX. recently this year I received a letter where I'm being sued and i owe XXXX dollars. I've only had XXXX capital one credit card and my limit was no more than XXXX which I paid off not too long ago because I didn't have access to my account due that other account being sent to collection, which I didn't noticed until I received a letter from that third party who's XXXX me.

Consumer Complaint: Our Post office has a new mail person. She mis delivered my bill to neighbor and I did not get it for over a month. I had charged {$5.00} on a card. I called the cr card company. She promised to remove the {$5.00} late fee if I paid the {$5.00}. I did. She refused to provide written documentation of her promised but assured me it was " in the notes on the account ''. To show appreciation, I used the card the next month. When the bill came, I found she had not removed the {$5.00} fee and as a result, I now owed it plus additional fees and interest. I called and the rep confirmed the notes on the account did reflect that the gal was removing the {$5.00} fees from the month before BUT BECAUSE THE PERSON HAD NOT DONE SO, I now owed all of the fees. I told her I was fed up and would pay for this months purchases and close the account. She tried to talk me out of paying this months purchases. She PROMISED, if I close the account, I would not owe any of the fees they charged NOR ANY OF THE COST OF PURCHASES. That did not make sense. After I challenged her on that she said " Trust me, I do this all the time. You will not owe either the purchases or the fees if the account is closed. '' I told her I did not trust her. No way would I not owe for the purchases and no way I will fall for their tricks two times in a row. I told her I would pay for my purchases then close the account. What she was really trying to get me to do was not pay the bill so they could turn it over to collection and get even more fees. This is a scam. When I told her these conversations are recorded, she became very upset. She recorded it she said so therefore, I have the same right. Recording a call in which I participate is legal in Texas. I am reporting this so others who are scammed the same way can avoid being harmed. I paid for the purchases immediately. I did not pay the fees they twice promised to remove. I will close the account once my check has cleared.

Under 15 US 1666B a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as a late for any purpose.

A live-stream where I also called XXXX XXXX and the FDIC. Let me know if you want to hear it. A Capital One XXXX admits on the record that they see my account. You can clearly hear that they are aware of the theft. Over XXXX Million USD are on my XXXX account, mostly from an inheritance from the XXXX family. That's the maiden name of my mother. Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX Re : Case XXXX To Whom It May Concern : This letter is in response to the above referenced case. I would like to reopen the case and continue the dispute. The merchants name is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX The date of the transaction was XX/XX/2023. The amount of the dispute is {$470.00}. My response is that the hotel charged this VISA card without my authorization. The hotel reservation was made with a XXXX, thus any issues with the reservation should have been charged to that card. I did not authorize access to this VISA card. On the attached reservation, it clearly denotes XXXX. I called the hotel to discuss the issue on XX/XX/2023 at XXXX where I also disputed the charge with them. I also called Capital One to discuss, but it hadnt cleared. On XX/XX/2023, I proceeded to dispute AGAIN with Capital One and the representative informed me that the merchant indicated that Id authorized the use of the VISA and I did NOT. The card was charged on XX/XX/2023 and I had no contact with the merchant until XX/XX/2023 ; which would indicate that I did not give prior authorization. The attached documentation clearly indicates that this reservation was made with a XXXX, and it also includes the hotels cancellation policy. It is included on this correspondence, per your request. The merchant had NO right to assign any fees, charges, or other for THIS RESERVATION to this VISA card. I look forward to your favorable response. Thank you,

Consumer Complaint: Capital One has denied me access to my account. The account was originally opened using my home landline phone number. I called customer service and spoke to XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) and her supervisor XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ). Neither was able to complete my information update. The landline associated with the account has been terminated and I needed to update it with my cell phone number. When attempting to complete the authentication process neither of the XXXX cell phone numbers I gave them were accepted. They would not use any other type of authentication process other than a scanned photo of my government issued I.D . sent across the internet. This is supposed to be for my security, but it actually opens the door to any predators wishing to capture my personal information. I need access to this account so I can pay it off and close it as soon as possible.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam- I have an online Capital One 360 Account, since year XXXX. This account had an overdraft feature of {$1000.00}. The feature used sparingly by me. However, it provided me a degree of comfort Banking with Capital One in case of an emergency. I also have a Capital One Credit Card and I keep the auto payment option active, so that my payments are automatically processed every month. On XXXX or XXXX of every month my auto payment processed the credit card payments. In the month of XXXX a payment of {$2400.00} was declined by Capital one on account a {$14.00} shortage in my checking account. I called the Capital One 360 Bank and asked them as to why my payment was declined and I was informed that the overdraft feature was discontinued in XXXX XXXX. From my statements I can see the overdraft feature was used by me in XXXX of XXXX as well. Moreover, discontinuation of the overdraft feature was not communicated to me by the Capital one 360 compliance team. However I made the payment of {$2400.00} on XX/XX/XXXX promptly upon receiving a text message about my payment not being processed. They made some major changes to the software online and did not communicate the changes to the customer. The Capital One Credit card team has charged me late payment fee of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Looks the compliance team at Capital One did not provide adequate explanation nor communication to the customer. Also Capital One Bank is facilitating the Credit Card division to make predatory charges though they remain two different entities. I would require a third party to arbitrate and ensure that US consumers are not taken for granted. We form 60 % of the US economy and we deserve the due process to be followed through trust in Banking. Note : On the day of the transaction my Savings Bank account had an excess amount, which could have ultimately processed the transaction in a timely manner. Capital One ignored this aspect too. regards XXXX XXXX
