Consumer Complaint: I was charged a late fee of {$38.00} even though I made my payment on the due date. The system forced a day later though I made my payment on the XXXX ( pictures attached ). I called to ask that the {$38.00} be removed, theay said they could not do that. I asked about the random cutoff time and was told that was company policy of when the post payments. I asked the supervisor how i could submit a written complaint, she said i could not do that and she could not give information on her manager. She said she would submit my feedback. I asked if I could get a copy of that and she said no.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One has committed fraudulent and misleading acts in relation to a secured credit card account I opened in XX/XX/XXXX, ending in XXXX. I applied for and opened a SECURED credit card, and deposited {$200.00} which set the limit for my credit. I intentionally chose to open this secured credit card because it gave me the power to add to my own line of credit at my own convenience. Capital One, WITHOUT MY CONSENT, upgraded this account to an unsecured credit card and refunded my deposit, effectively taking away my power to add to my own credit line. I did not want or consent to this upgrade, and was never given prior notification or the ability to opt out of this upgrade. I was also never clearly informed that the account I thought I was opening had a mandatory upgrade built into it. I never would have opened the original secured card if I had known this was the case. On top of this aforementioned problem, the secured credit card account that I opened, which now no longer exists because I dont have a secured credit card where I can add to my own line of credit at will, had an alleged late payment reporting in XX/XX/XXXX. This late payment is still reporting on the current unsecured credit card, as though the two different credit cards are the same product. Clearly they are not, because if it was the same product, I would be able to deposit more money into the account to raise my own credit limit. I have been repeatedly denied credit limit increases and am extremely unhappy with the current state of this account. The current Unsecured Credit card has had 0 late payments since the non-consensual upgrade, yet it is negatively reporting as was 30 days past due date and it is negatively affecting my credit score, as well as causing harm to my personal reputation.

Consumer Complaint: Capitol One Data Breach & Settlement. Per the phone representative, an email was " successfully '' sent to my XXXX account on XX/XX/2022. After searching my inbox and recognizing several emailed communications from Capitol One, including information on monthly statements and promotional material. I was not successful in finding an email from Capitol One referencing a data breach or the settlement claim. I was told by the phone representative that it may have gone to my spam folder. I checked my spam and did not see anything from Capitol One. I find it extrememly odd that I am successful in receiving promotional emails from Captiol One but not ble to find an email and did not receive any USPS communication regarding this settlement. I firmly believe Capitol One did not due their due diligence in notifying customers.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX there were several fraudulent charges made on my card. I called the credit card company and disputed the charges, had the card canceled, and just wanted to pay down the card so I declined having a new card sent to me. They did reimburse me for the fraudulent charges so I thought the matter was remedied, and I began to pay off my card balance. Just the other day around XX/XX/XXXX, I logged into my account and saw that one of the fraudulent charges from XX/XX/XXXX had somehow still been charging my supposedly " canceled card '' every month for around {$35.00}. Turns out the credit card company forgot to cancel the credit card number ( even though this is their standard policy and I explicitly asked for this ) that experienced the fraud and I would continued to incur close to {$2000.00} in fraudulent charges over the next XXXX years. I paid interest I did not owe, and my full balance most likely would have been paid off if they had taken care of this correctly. So I called immediately once I discovered this and had to call several times speaking with representatives, a manager, and then the manager 's manager. They found that my story was factual. They said still had the original call recorded from XXXX and verified all I said was true and accurate. The problem is they said they needed " a few days '' to correct everything since in addition to refunding the near {$2000.00} they needed to calculate the incorrect interest and adjust the higher than necessary payments I've been making for the last XXXX years. Anyway it's been more than " a few days '' and it still has not been fixed. They are still charging me the same full minimum payment and I haven't been refunded anything.

Consumer Complaint: Ive held an account with capital one for many years. Recently Ive been made aware that my data could have been exposed and that there was a class action law suit. I was never notified that there was a data breach and that my information may have been exposed during the incident. When I learned of this. I called the number and requested information to confirm if I was an original member of the suit and was told the deadline has passed. And was hung up on. How could I miss a deadline for something I knew nothing about? I check every single email I get in every folder every single day multiple times a day. I was never made aware by capital one that there was a data breach and if I could have been affected.

Consumer Complaint: In May of 2023 my account had strady deposits from my paycheck ( Bi-weekly ) and XXXX XXXXXXXX depositing money in my account monthly. Bu the ens of XX/XX/ my bank statements reflected that my account was overdrawn by {$190.00}. In XXXX the company I worked for experienced a dilemma with Pay roll and had to givw us checks instead of the normal Bi-weekly Payroll. This caused me to leave my account overdrawn because I had to quickly pay bills because I usually pay threw my account. In XXXX my company Payroll was fixed and when I tried to have my direct deposit resumed, I was told my account was closed due to being overdrawn by {$97.00}. {$130.00} deposits into my account monthly so I had no worries to deposit any money onto my account. I feel like the reason for my account being closed was not my fault and I would like to continue to have my account due to no fault from myself but due to the payroll issues with my job. I currently still employed and would like to continue to have my direct deposits sent to Capital One because they are a great bank.
