Consumer Complaint: I was alerted to potential fraud on my account from Capitol One. I called Capitol One to resolve the issue after logging into my account online and seeing two transactions made without my knowledge. I was also charged cash withdrawal fees without my knowledge, all of these transactions are fraud. I talked with a Capitol One representative and she helped me through the reported fraud process. She located a third potential fraud activity on my card that did not show up on my online statement : an attempted purchase of {$500.00} at XXXX. She did not tell me the location of the XXXX. She also informed me that someone had requested a new card via the Capitol One mobile app. I do not have the Capital One mobile app. Someone also withdrew money from XXXX XXXX XXXX using my credit card - I do not have a XXXX XXXX XXXX account so I do not know how that is possible. After discussing these issues she said that the fraud department would look into my claims. I asked if I would be responsible for the charges in the meantime, as I am set up with autopay. She put me on hold for a long period of time and never answered my question adequately. Now I receive a letter seven days after my fraud claim and a discussion with the representative that my claim- the claim that Capital One alerted me to and locked my card over - DENIED. They stated, " Information we discovered leads us to believe you or another account user benefitted from the transactions. '' No evidence was provided. There is not another account user on my card- this leads me to believe my card is STILL being used fraudulently and Captiol One is not helping my case. I have manually locked my card so stop any further misuse, no help from I will continue to dispute the case until it is honestly and truthfully resolved.

Consumer Complaint: XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX alleged debt, was disputed under ID theft, in 2017, at all three bureaus : XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX. I wrote them a certified letter requesting the validation of the debt, in accordance with FDCPA guidelines. They did not respond but continued to report the debt. They sent me a letter threatening legal action, and asking me not to respond if the debt was not mine ; XXXX did none of the remedies provided by law under ID theft. They placed my numbers in call scammer and dialers. They ran my credit 5 times in the last year, without a debt, but rather with an alleged debt XXXX XXXX XXXX.
