Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23, I applied for a credit card from CapitalOne with an introductory 15 month 0 % interest rate, a 3 % interest rate on any transfers and a welcome bonus. Knowing my credit score was already rated " excellent '', I applied. In less than 3 minutes, I received a letter indicating that I was not approved based on 2 reasons : 1. Based on information that I provided, my income is insufficient for the amount of credit requested. ( First, I did not request any amount of credit and second, there was no question about the amount. 2. Based on information that I provided, I have previously earned a spend bonus on this product. ( I do currently have a CapitalOne credit which I received over 2 years ago, which their rules indicate that I can apply for card if it has been 24 months ago ) I do not understand how CapitalOne can make a fair assessment of my finances and credit worthiness in 3 minutes or less, especially when there are only 4 to 5 questions! On top of this, the inquiry for the CapitalOne credit card left a hard inquiry on my credit report, which I want removed! I know that there is definitely something wrong with their assessment process, as I went to my bank the next day and was approved immediately for a similar credit card.

Consumer Complaint: If you review the attached records, I have been paying these credit purchases off before the cycle closed and am still being billed financial charges on purchases that I have paid off in full and before the ending cycle date or closing date. I have attempted to discuss this with the customer service representatives and they seem not to be able to add the payments over the last three-month period and look at the purchases and see and understand that the payments have always been more than the purchases and they still charge me financial charges. If I have paid you {$2900.00} one month against a balance of {$3000.00} does not give you such rights to charge me for the entire purchases that I have paid off before the cycle closes or even if the cycle closes, I still should not be charged financial charges for the complete purchases made. The previous month, I paid you {$4000.00} against purchases made for that month totaling {$3000.00} and you still charged me financial charges combined the two together and you have been paid a total of {$6900.00} on purchases in the amount of {$6000.00} and you still charge me financial charges. When I have paid such account overage in the amount of {$980.00}. This just does not add up. I need a full review and refund of my interest charged back to my account or I will have to cease doing any kind of business like this. This is intentionally robbing the customer in hope that such is not noticed.

Consumer Complaint: Subject : Urgent Request for Assistance : Stolen Vehicle and Unresolved Identity Theft To the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply troubling and distressing situation involving identity theft, the unauthorized opening of a credit account, and the theft of my vehicle, a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX sedan. The owner of the auto repair shop responsible for the theft of my car is XXXX XXXX, with an address at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX. The sequence of events that led to this situation is complex but rooted in the mishandling of my insurance package by my former employer, Saks Fifth Avenue. Upon being hired, I received my insurance package after 31 days, well after the enrollment window had closed, and they subsequently filed a report to rectify this. In the process, they also contacted the insurance to open a new window to allow for the inclusion of my package. However, during my employment, I applied for a Capital One XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card to obtain my employee discount, only to discover unauthorized activity related to my personal information. This led to the theft of my car from the Saks Fifth Avenue employee parking lot. I believe that this situation may involve individuals connected to Saks Fifth Avenue, including the general manager, XXXX XXXX, the HR representative, XXXX XXXX, and a manager, XXXX XXXX. I also noticed that an unauthorized Capital One XXXX XXXX XXXX account had been opened under my name, causing significant damage to my credit. Despite reporting this to the police ( report XXXX : XXXX ), I am still awaiting resolution. The complexity and potential involvement of various parties in this situation have made it incredibly challenging to regain control over my identity and retrieve my stolen vehicle. I urgently seek your assistance in resolving this matter, ensuring the return of my stolen car, and restoring my financial well-being, which has been severely affected by the unauthorized credit account. Any help you can provide in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your immediate attention to this serious issue. [ XXXX XXXX ] [ XXXX ]
