I have a confirmation number and they took the money out my account and now are saying I should receive my money back in a few days. So, they not only did not honor their ad they held up my money.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent two letters to Capital One disputes ( since the address I received from customer service was different than the one I saw online ) to ensure they received my letter. USPS tracking made me aware that both letters were received on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter was written after multiple attempts to resolve the issue over the phone were unsuccessful. I sent the letter because of numerous billing errors that have led to my car being wrongfully repossessed on XX/XX/XXXX and inaccurate reporting to the credit agencies, and that has caused me to be in loan repayment longer ( and causing me to pay more on my loan inaccurately ). I have received no knowledgeable explanation for my disputes through COAF customer support and have continued bills with increased overdue amounts after having made a payment through a payment plan and have had miscellaneous charges on my account ( when I called to inquire about the additional costs, I was told they were additional repossession charges ) So ; I began to look into my account. The following is from the letter I sent. A growing concern regarding the accuracy of my account began after receiving multiple statements with an additional charge of {$330.00} under " other fees, '' invoices with past due balances after completing a payment arrangement, and significant variations in interest charges. After reviewing my account, I believe that my current and past-due balances on my account are inaccurate due to the following billing errors : 1. Inaccurate and increased monthly payment charge 2. Inaccurate and increased interest charges 3. Erroneous additional charges 4. Payments unaccounted for Nearly a week after COAF received my letters, they are continuing collections attempts after receiving my dispute on the current balance on my account and the past due balances. I am now filing my complaint with CFPB to help escalate my issue.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX capitalone sold my private information such as name dob, ssn, and banking info. Because of this hackers got into my account and made many fraudulent charges. Capital one advised me to close the account and open a new one so I did. My irs refund was programmed to direct deposit into the closed account. The stimulus money given out at the end of XXXX was set to deposit to the closed account. Capitalone informed me that the money would be rejected and returned to irs. Upon communicating with irs their records show capitalone accepted payment for stimulus funds and did not reject the payment. I have yet to receive my $ XXXX. In XXXX capitalone was brought to litigation and were suppose to inform their clients of such litigation they failed to notify me and payouts have already gone out. Ive attempted to resolve the issue with capitalone one but they said that I have missed the deadline and there is nothing that can be done other than offer me 3 years of credit repair services for free. Currently the state of Az is sending out a rebate to qualified applicants for XXXX in the amount of {$750.00}. The payments will be deposited into the account listed as payment for XXXX tax refund and as I stated before capitalone was suppose to have closed that account years ago. I still have not received my stimulus money or current Az rebate. Today I called capitalone to close my account and let them know my issues the representative stated she was going to help me but instead left me on hold then hung up on me. They are refusing to close my account or return my money to me. Or rectify the situation in regards to not notifying me about litigation.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 I applied for a Capital one spark credit card. Regrettably, my application was denied without justifiable cause, which has raised concerns regarding potential discrimination or mishandling of my application. I received an adverse action letter stating that my credit is denied for the reasons of : missing or unavailable information. Even though the letter clearly stated that XXXX had been accessed and a credit report and score retrieved. I immediately called Capital One to rectify the situation. On a recorded line I was told that they only solution was to re-submit the application for another hard inquiry with the exact same result. I then asked for the CEO information so that I could get a affidavit stating no promissory note was created in reference to my application and to address why I was denied even though I was asked for my social security number without XXXX form. I was told there was no CEO information and I was the transferred to XXXX. XXXX basically parroted a very similar refusal to provide any additional supervisory or CEO information and then hung up mid call. I did not receive any additional information as to how to get reconsideration on the application and was denied every form requested. Upon further inquiry with Capital One, I was unable to obtain a clear and satisfactory explanation for the denial. This lack of transparency has left me feeling unfairly treated and concerned about potential violations of my rights in the credit evaluation process. I firmly believe that I have the right to fair and equal treatment in the credit application process, as outlined by the Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA ) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Denying credit without providing a valid reason undermines these fundamental rights and could potentially be indicative of discriminatory practices.

I was told that my account was restricted due to overdue payment, & that all I needed to do was pay about half of the balance due to reactivate my credit card. So I mailed in a check for the ENTIRE balance, and it was delivered, cashed, and posted onto my account. The very day the check posted onto my account I called to have the restriction removed so I could use the card again, but the representative on the phone told me that Capital One closed the account, and I just lost everything I just paid them. No notice WHATSOEVER, in fact it STILL states in my app that the account is still open and just restricted. Then I re applied for another credit card with them, and they DENIED ME?!?

Consumer Complaint: I spoke with XXXX a supervisor at CapitalOne and he would not even verify his agent number properly. It was either XXXX of or XXXX. Every time I tried to verify using alpha letters he wouldnt even verify it. Said there is no other supervisor above him that I could be transferred to and said I would have to hang up to get another supervisor. I was inquiring about how they track payments and none of my questions were answered. I provided a tracking number from USPS to show them I made a payment. I dont even know why their roles exist if they cant answer any questions. Everything was just frustrating and unprofessional. Ive never had this level of incompetence when dealing with bankers and creditors. They make verbal promises and then wont send any kind of written account for the false promises they make. And then, they make you feel like the bad guy for wanting things in writing. They will tell you they dont write out any agreements for settlement when I know I have received it before. There are too many people who cant even verify something that was said prior or have any level of consistency. These agents need to be held accountable for what they say and promise customers. How is this practice OK?
