Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Sent card you never applied for
Consumer Complaint: A fraudulent credit card account was opened with Capital One under my name. I received an email from Capital One that my card was in the mail. I called Capital One and reported the fraudulent account. After speaking with a representative at Capital One, they have flagged the account as fraudulent and said they will report to FTC. I have requested that they stop sending me junk mail so that there is less of chance of someone using that mail that has been tossed in the trash to open a fraudulent account.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration regarding the lack of response and cooperation from the creditors in validating the debt associated with the accounts listed below. This matter is of utmost urgency, and your blatant disregard for providing the necessary documentation is unacceptable. Despite my repeated attempts to seek validation of this debt, your organization has failed to provide any satisfactory response. What is particularly distressing is that, upon reviewing my credit report, I discovered that this account is erroneously marked as a charged-off account with an outstanding balance. This misinformation is damaging to my financial standing and creditworthiness. XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a Neiman Marcus store card issued by Capital One around XX/XX/23. I did not receive any correspondence regarding the application and didnt even know if it went through. The only way I found out that anything had taken place was when I saw a hard inquiry on my XXXX report. I was told that my application was denied because Capital One could not gain access to my XXXX and XXXX reports. Only discovered this once I called to ask why there was an inquiry. There are no letters or notifications in my Capital One account or Neiman Marcus account pertaining to this application. I was not requested to lift the freeze in any way. I requested that the hard inquiry on my XXXX report be removed as the application was not complete. Capital One stated that they needed access to all 3 bureaus to make a determination. However, the representative would not honor that fair and reasonable request. I have been penalized by other creditors whom I have cards with for having too many inquiries after Capital Ones reporting.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, Capital One bank froze my withdrawals out of my checking account. I have approximately {$300000.00} in the account which is pretty much all the money I have and they wouldn't give me any information as to why, when or how I would receive my funds, the investigation would take or why this was happening. They wouldn't give a timeline, a reason, or any resolution to get my funds out. All the funds deposited into my account were valid wire transfers from my partners account from the sale of a business. I never used the account for any suspicious transactions, i currently have XXXX credit cards with their bank, and verified my identity multiple times with them. This is the worst experience i ever had with a bank ever and i dont know why when i opened my account with Capital one, they asked me to fund the account and so I did, and XXXX month later, they held all my money. Pretty much a bait and switch robbery. Depost your money here and we will keep it and not give you any information.
