Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, I paid the total balance due on my credit card bringing my account to XXXX. For some reason, the company charged me interest on account of {$1.00} on XX/XX/2021. From that point to now, they started charging me late fees bringing the amount due to {$47.00}. This was never reflected on my on-line account as anything being owed. I was still thinking the account was paid in full, until I received a call from a Comenity Bank representative on behalf of XXXX stating I had an outstanding balance and that my account was past due. I immediately paid the outstanding amount, even though I didn't agree with it. She then gave me a credit of the late fees. She also stated that no statement was ever generated or sent to me indicating that an amount was due. She said that she would submit a request to have this removed as it seemingly was a system error on their part. This is still reflecting on my credit report as a late fee and I would like this removed completely because how was I supposed to know anything was due if it was not reflecting on my on-line account nor did I ever receive a statement from the company informing me that something was due? I was also told they would send me a letter stating the gave me a credit of the late fee and also a letter stating my account reflects a XXXX balance, which I have yet to receive.

Consumer Complaint: I filed a written complaint on XX/XX/XXXX by telephone and by letter ( attached ). They sent acknowledgement letter on XX/XX/XXXX and responded to a my secure online message on XX/XX/XXXX. I've called to ask for a resolution because it is over 90 days and they keep charging me interest on my dispute which is described below. But they said they would contact when they have an answer. And now when I call I get a recording.. " WELCOME TO XXXX XXXX , your call can not be completed as the called party is temporarily unavailable .please try your call later '' I called today XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX EST Tel # XXXX during their stated business hours. ISSUE : I called when I received my XXXX statement to dispute deferred interest charges they charged regardless that I made full payment on XXXX of {$940.00} before a {$930.00} deferred promotional balance expired on XX/XX/XXXX. My XXXX statement stated that an auto payment of {$130.00} would be deduced on the due date XX/XX/XXXX, but they didn't deduct the auto payment because they said I made the XX/XX/XXXX payment. No other bank does this. I called and filed a complaint and was given XXXX XXXX XXXX. I wrote a letter on XX/XX/XXXX, but there was no response, so I sent a secure message through Comenity Bank Website for XXXX XXXX XXXX, which was acknowledged Message ID : XXXX. I received a physical letter from them on XX/XX/XXXX. Besides not crediting my payment to the promotional plan that expired first, they are still applying any extra payment to promotional plans that expire last, It is so hard to even understand how they are calculating interest ( and I am a secretary who does taxes and calculate closing cost. According to the last statement they charged interest of {$770.00} in XXXX and {$16.00} so far in XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I currently own an XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card. For the past year, I have not been able to log in online and access my account. I have called customer service and each time I speak to a customer care representative, the actions and answers to help resolve the solution have all been inconclusive with " technical glitch '' or " please contact customer care. '' All actions they advised and instructed were steps, I have done on my own as the website typical recommends and prior to calling Customer care. Representatives have also admitted to me, they " are working on resolving the online access. '' However, this seems to be false as it has been over a year since I have NOT been able to log into my account. Any attempts to reset my password, again, states, " technical glitch '' and to " try again. '' All attempts, consistently unsuccessful. On my last call with a customer care representative, in XX/XX/2023, after first requesting assistance to access my online account ( again ), I requested to reactivate and receive paper statements since access to my online account was not possible. The representative proceeded to state, the only way for me to reactivate paper statements is to login into my account. This clearly indicated the company and representatives position to keep customers out of their online account and making any changes. No confirmation emails, surveys or documentation to prove my attempts calling Customer Care at Comenity BankXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX were ever sent from them to verify my calls or attempts.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid {$4300.00} to ULTA/Mastercard ( Comenity Bank ) phone payment. I closed my account and I was told there could still be a balance for interest and fees. I stated I understood. I never received a notice of a balance. On XX/XX/XXXX. I called to inquire about a balance I was told they updated their system they can not see or tell me anything about my account and that I should try back at a later date. I called back in XXXX XXXX was told I had a balance of {$43.00} dollars I requested a statement. She said a statement is being mailed out. Fast forward. I received an alert on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX that comenity bank reported that I owed a balance of {$170.00} dollars. I had tried to talk to dispute this with Comenity they hung up on me if I do not pay but they continued to call me nonstop. Finally, I sent a certified letter XX/XX/XXXX explaining that I would no longer speak to them and that if they wanted to talk had to do it through email because they are not trustworthy. I informed them that I was filing a complaint against them. After I sent they received my certified letter they sent a bill for those trumped-up charges and reported again to the credit bureaus that I now owe " {$290.00} on a loan I did not pay back '' Which is a lie. I am disputing these charges because a balance of {$43.00} turning into a {$290.00} dollar is madness. I can provide proof that I have always paid my balances off since having my credit card. I have my bank statement from XX/XX/XXXX showing I paid.
