Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: This is a follow up to complaint # XXXX. The original complaint was due Comenity Bank closing my credit card because " security concerns ''. I provided them with all requested documents showing my identity. They replied back, stating that after reviewing the information that they had " continued security concerns '' and was permanently closing my account. No explanation why they had " security concerns ''. I have now sent them a letter requesting an itemized list of their " security concerns ''. It seems odd that a month after I turned XXXX, that they close my account. Age discrimination??

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: I paid off my Lane Bryans credit card on XX/XX/XXXX2022. I paid the statement balance prior to the due date. Since the card was fully paid off and not being used, I didnt expect any further charges. XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX/XXXX/22, XX/XX/XXXX22, XX/XX/XXXX22 I was charged with a minimum interest fee of {$2.00}. Why would I get charged interest on an account that is paid off?!?! Additionally, they then started assessing late fees. I never received a single statement via email or US mail telling me that I still had a balance. I tried to speak with Comenity, however they claim their fee is lawful. I had a perfect payment history on my credit report and now this has been sullied over an unreasonable and possibly illegal fee. I have other store cards with Comenity, and I have paid off this card as well in the past and I have never been charged a minimum interest fee after the card has been paid off.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: You never received your bill or did not know a payment was due
Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank has been contacted in writing 3 separate times with a request for me to receive paper statements of my accounts. I was locked out of my online portal where I had been making my payments and my ability to reset a password was disabled. I continued to receive emails with payment due alerts and increases to balances of each account due to late fees and interest. Amounts due on accounts are far higher than when I was able to make payments on a regular monthly schedule. I requested paper statements so I could view my account history and make certain no additional charges had been applied as I have had this issue in the past with Comenity and they have had to credit my account due to errors on their end. For instance my payment would be due on XXXX of the month and I would make payment on XXXX or morning of XXXX and receive email confirmation but then at later date get notification and late fee applied with no record of payment made. I would contact my bank and see payment was debited on or before due date, share this with Comenity and they would then credit my account correctly. I am hoping to resolve these issues as they are affecting my credit history greatly. This is in regards to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX and XXXX. All three accounts have been closed and I was making payments on them up until they locked me out. TheLoft card I was alerted was sold to another credit entity that I will have to work with thanks for the missteps by Comenity Bank.
