Consumer Complaint: I purchased an item from XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and did not receive a statement until XX/XX/XXXX and it had late fees and an interest charge. I called and told them I had not received a statement and they waived the late charge, but I paid the interest and the payment on XX/XX/XXXX with my debit card over the phone. I have bought nothing with this card since then. I have had no correspondence with them since XXXX of XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I receive a bill from Comenity Bank for {$96.00} and it is nothing but late fees and interest charges. I call on XX/XX/XXXX and talk to XXXX and she tells me she will waive the late fees, but I will have to pay the interest of {$11.00}. I did not want to do it over the phone and was going to do it online so I would have a time stamp of payment. The only way to do that was with my checking account and I was not giving them that information. I called back and got XXXX and now it is {$15.00} that I owe, and he will waive the late fees. I am frustrated and pay it and ask for this card to be cancelled. I look online and my payment is pending yet I did this on XX/XX/XXXX and it did not show up on their site as paid until XX/XX/XXXX, but shows on their site as XX/XX/XXXX and all the other charges are still on the account. I call back and get XXXX XXXX and he want to know if I want to make a payment. I explained it all to him again and he says he will take care of it and I told him I wanted this card cancelled and he said he had put in a request to do so. I told him I better not get another bill and he said I would and there would be a {$1.00} charge and to call back and he will take care of it. This is a never-ending problem with this credit card. I paid {$15.00} I did not owe. This company is stealing from its card holders

Consumer Complaint: We have recently relocated w/ my spouses career of 39 years. During that time I several instances of attempted fraud. We were able to thwart the other attempt. I got notice of a balance on a credit card that had XXXX balance ( I have no credit card debt ) I lost ce in Montana but charges were made for gold & jewelry from a town in Texas for {$6500.00}. Ive never been there, know anyone there, never want to go there! This Sony Visa card issued by Comenity Bank had been in my wallet for 20 years, I used it sparingly and have always paid the balance even before billing! Ive sent them two certified letters, a local police report, called them at least 12 times and still they persist feigning that Im not communicating! This thief in Texas used his own name and address to make these purchases and has been identified as the perpetrator! The Billings Police Dept, report # XXXX the investigation officer called me personally and said this person was caught doing the crime!! This company continues to harass me daily, calls, emails saying its my debt, Its NOT. Im an older women in my 60s and quite uncomfortable w/ detailed tech knowledge, This company is putting us through XXXX trying to force us to pay this card charges that are NOT ours! Very depressed and disillusioned, scared! We need help! Theyre destroying our hard earned financial life!

Consumer Complaint: Was unable to make an online payment on my Lane Brant - Comenity card for {$50.00} because their system was down for an upgrade so i made the payment over the phone for {$50.00}. They took out two {$50.00} payments on that day. I still didnt get a statement from the so i called again and they said i had made one {$50.00} payment and the other transaction was a reversal. I provided everything they asked for to dispute it including a written statement, copies of my bank account, transaction numbers, but their responses were vague and stated they didnt receive the payment. I went to my bank in person and met with a bank officer who verified that both transactions were payments to Comenity bank and no payment reverals had ever occurred. I have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this and have now just paid the balance and closed the card account on the same phonecall. A month later, I received another statement for XXXX and a XXXX late fee. Additionally, the address XXXX street name and town ) on my statements was spelled incorrectly and the customer service agents could barely speak english making it almost impossible to converse. My statements online were changed after i called to complain. I do have the paper statements to prove this.

Consumer Complaint: I received a call on XX/XX/2023 from comenity bank stating that I have not paid my bill for two months which is inaccurate. I did not receive any information regarding what account as I have multiple credit cards under comenity bank and believe I have paid them all off. When I finally discover that the problem is regarding my childrens place credit card I log into my account and see that all my outstanding transactions are paid off but I am being charged a late fee on top of a late fee that I did not know I had plus interest on those late fees. I did know I had these fees since I am not receiving any paper or electronic statements. So my outstanding balance is purely late fees and interest accumulated which is entirely unfair as I had been charged the late fee. When I paid my last outstanding balance the payment was posted the next day however the late fee was charged on XX/XX/2023 which is when my monthly payments are due, how can a late fee be charged the same day my payment is due. I spoke to a customer service representative who said my payment due date is the XXXX of every month so why was I charged the late fee before the end of the day. Either way when I made my payment the late fee was not applied to my payment due so of course I paid the exact total of my outstanding balance.

Consumer Complaint: Commenity Bank XX/XX/22 {$11.00} fraud charge to XXXX, credit limit $ XXXXHad a {$0.00} balance. Only used this card couple times a year. XX/XX/22 late fee {$11.00} + {$1.00} interest charge. XXXX {$23.00}. I believe it was XX/XX/22 when I noticed the fraud. I made no purchases and unfortunately Commenity Bank emails went to my spam. I contacted Commenity and they cleared up the fraud issue. Issued new card. Do to late fees/fraud on my account credit was dropped to {$750.00} and 30 day late was posted to my credit report. Commenity told me the Credit Bureaus would fix this and so. Been a big run around

Consumer Complaint: Company claims I had two charges totaling a XXXX $ however the card was lost and I couldnt access my account online with paperless billing and it was showing up to active my new cards when I finally received a call I called them back and they wouldnt tell me what the charges where and are charging me over XXXX $ in fees I asked to to come to a settlement explaining the situation and confirming my payment history with the card that it was always paid a fees days after it was used she said no and hung up on me. I wouldnt have known to contact them if I didnt use the card and they wont even explain what the charges are

Consumer Complaint: I am getting sick and tired of overstock taking credit away from me. I'm trying to build my credit by building credit on my account. It's always when i build up credit over {$200.00} is when they decide to decrease my credit. I'm not even applying for credit. They make this excuse that every few months they run a credit review. I have had many credit cards and none of them have done to me what commenity bank is doing to me. Then I'm left without all the credit i saved up for the past 6 months and left with barely any credit at all to spend. My account is current with them. I am being treated very unfairly.

Consumer Complaint: Recieved a call on two different phone numbers from the same company stating that a credit card for Comenity bank XXXX lane bryant card stating that my account was being sent to civil court in my county. They stated the amount I could pay today or the amount it would cost me in court. The card in question was paid in 2018 and account closed. I told them the account had been paid they argued back stating it was going to civil court. I called comenity bank who had no record of this card as it has been pain and archived. I again called the company asking for the money they refused to give me their name and hung up. It was yesterday so I called them back after XXXX XXXX and it was an answering machine stating their name was XXXX XXXX XXXX out of a different state. The phone numbers calling me were ( XXXX ) XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX phone number was ( XXXX ) XXXX. When I tried reaching out to that number to tell that company that someone was using their company to get money or debts already paid my call would not go thru. Also I must mention that when this person originally talked to me they did state this account was going into civil court in my county I did reach out to civil court in my county and they had no record of anything. Lucky for me I knew this account had been paid and I did not fall for their SCAM. Instead I reached out to Comenity bank and was told the account had been archived as it was paid and I reached out to my countys civil court office since the company did say my account had been sent there and a process server was going to be serving me. This company needs to be shut down for Scamming people. Not everyone thinks like I do to further investigate. Older people would have just given them the payment.
