Consumer Complaint: Comenity Capital Bank advertised to apply for a credit card through a merchant called XXXX XXXX XXXX through a program called XXXX XXXX '' and receive a discount on my order in the same amount as the sales tax I would be charged ( 7 % ). The offer says it can be used immediately upon approval. I applied, was approved with a {$7200.00} credit line, and the card added to my account. However, Comenity Bank kept declining the {$220.00} charge. I contacted the Merchant who said I had to call Comenity Bank ; I called Comenity Bank which said I should call the merchant again ; and then I called the merchant which again directed me back to Comenity Bank. Bottom line is that I was not able to use the card, and but for the false advertisement that I could use the card immediately, I never would have applied. As a result, I now have an unnecessary inquiry on my credit report which can not be removed, and did not receive the {$15.00} discount I was supposed to receive for placing my first order after being approved.

Consumer Complaint: This company is the worst!!! I have obtained my credit report and found there accounts I never opened, addresses I never resided, inquiries I never made and even different variations of my name. Comenity Bank was one of the accounts showing with an amount owed of {$870.00}. I disputed the account because I realized it was listed twice in my credit. Once with Comenity Bank and again with XXXX XXXX XXXX and both were open. I disputed the account and they then closed it as charged off. I attempted to contact this company and had the worst customer experience ever. The agent had a horrible attitude and hung up on me. I plan on taking action against this company for their very very rude tactics if this account is not deleted immediately. I have also filed an FTC report along with a XXXX report.

Consumer Complaint: This is a follow up to my original complaint and a response to the correspondence from Comenity Capital Bank. Dear XXXX XXXX, Thank you very much for your response to my complaint filed with the Consumer Protection Finance Bureau, I appreciate it. However to truly address my concerns you would have to take note that the situation happened as a result of the misleading information that was given to me by your representative. I was falsely informed that the {$40.00} turned {$54.00} late fee due to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX was going to be waived by your bank that was taking over the XXXX credit card. I stupidly trusted what I was told and did nothing, sadly that resulted in me accruing {$120.00} late fees, a late payment notice to the credit bureaus affecting my credit score, and my request to close the account being ignored for almost four months until filing this complaint. I appreciate you waving the {$5.00}, however to get the resolve that I believe I'm owed would mean you investigating my account further, realizing I made one charge on the XXXX XXXX account and paid it in full ( though my check went in the mail late ), which resulted in the excess fees from your bank. I'm totally fine paying the original {$40.00} late fee that was owed to XXXX but would like ALL of the additional fees that you charged me resulting from the misleading information given by your representative reversed, and a check mailed to me. Consumer Complaint: Hello, On XX/XX/XXXX I opened a Comenity/XXXX Credit Card I made a charge in XX/XX/XXXX and paid it off in full in XXXX and closed my account for good measure. This company has constantly hit me with delinquent payments and tanked my credit score by 100 points. XX/XX/XXXX - {$100.00} delinquent payment XX/XX/XXXX - {$140.00} delinquent payment Despite me calling them multiple times and asking them why I have these charges, they told me specifically that my account was closed. My credit score has been affected by 100 points - I can no longer apply for apartments with peace of mind. It's absolutely ridiculous.
