Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank has called me repeatedly ( at least 15 - 20 times over the last several months as recently as today and last Saturday ) regarding a Victoria Secret account that appears to be unpaid by a " XXXX '' XXXX. I'm unsure how to spell XXXX 's first name. I do not know or have any association with XXXX and have no idea how Comenity Bank obtained my phone number. Moreover, I do not have any accounts with Comenity Bank nor do I shop at Victoria Secret. Comenity 's messages are always urgent, they call throughout the day, on weekends, etc. and use blocked caller IDs. I do not answer as it isn't clear to me that this isn't a form of phishing or other fraud attempt, particularly given I have no association with any of the parties involved. I find Comenity 's debt collection efforts to be abusive, misdirected and unnecessary.

Consumer Complaint: My account was paid and closed. Per a prior complaint I filed, they responded with some gobbledegook about giving me {$2.00} to clear my account. Meanwhile, I received a statement from them indicating I owed them {$2.00} on my closed account. I think it is a way for them to start me accruing fees on this closed account. This, apparently, is their MO. Help, please.

Consumer Complaint: This number calls from varius different numbers, but yesterday they called from a caller ID identifying them as " Comenity Bank ''. I provided my information reluctantly since they said I had to verify myself to gain information. I provided my current information, and then was informed that they were calling from Comenity Bank, and that previously charged off debt that I PAID, was returned back to Comenity Bank for XXXX and XXXX credit card, Express Credit Card with past due balances. I asked them for the date of last activity, they said XXXX, and that it was still in the reporting period. I then informed them that I paid all my past due debts and I owe no one. In addition to, I asked them to send me correspondence of the alleged debt, but was informed that they could not send me correspondence and that if I do not hear back from them in 10 days to call them back. I feel that this is fraud for a couple of reasons : Past due obligations to Comenity Bank for the above referenced accounts were paid and settled with Comenity directly in XXXX, and Comenity has verified that I do not owe them any past due balances. Additionally, when I asked the debt collector to send me correspondence to my current provided information that they took from me on the call during this conversation, the agent said she could not send me any paperwork. This is not in accordance with fair debt collection practices, and I feel that whomever this company is, is either committing identity theft ( since they stole my information ) and falsely stating that they are organically Comenity bank and not a third party debt collector, and they refused to send me paperwork after I asked.

Consumer Complaint: I asked for my account to be closed and for my credit balance to be refunded. My balance was credit of {$38.00}. Comenity sent me two checks, even though I only asked for one. The first check brought my balance to XXXX. Comenity then sent a second check which created a debt on my account of {$38.00}. I received no communication from Comenity that this happened, and because my payment instructions had already been cancelled, no payments were made on this unexpected {$38.00} balance. Comenity has charged multiple late fees and interest on this {$38.00} duplicate check that they sent me, even though it 1 ) was not a purchase, 2 ) was billed to my account after I had requested account closure, and 3 ) was 100 % Comenity 's error.

Under 15 USC 1666 B a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late for any purpose. THis is preventing me to purchase a home for my family.

Consumer Complaint: This started last year that we missed the payment due to our vacation trip, we're charged Late Lee ( LF ) and Interest ( I ) but was reversed upon request, which we appreciated. On XXXX, we called disputing the total charges of {$32.00}, after a lenghty talk the CSR said she'll try to waived the OTHER LF & I, we then paid the {$17.00}, leaving a balance of {$15.00}, supposedly they will waive. We then requested a copy of the statement dtd XXXX and was received. Talked to them again to waive the {$15.00} as pormised, this time based on their XXXX.Statement send On XXXX, Why didn't they gave me the balance then, we assumed it's still {$15.00} but to date ( XXXX ) Talked to XXXX XXXX when asked, it's NOW {$49.00}, representing 2 LF+I, but never received the XXXX Statement. Can you imagined instructing us to talk to our Bank, what's our bank got to do with their LF-I?! They even reported me to the XXXX for measley {$15.00} arrears, which was not fair afterall my XXXX score was XXXX and was pulled down to XXXX. Unfair from a lousy company to do that w/o checking XXXX background.

Consumer Complaint: I placed an order with Lane Bryant online on XX/XX/XXXX. I returned all items and received a confirmation email stating the funds were refunded and credited back to my credit card on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ( Please see attachment ) for more details I received a text from lane bryant on XX/XX/XXXX claiming the acct was beyond payment. I called in and spoke to a rep, she requested that I give her the tracking numbers which I did ... she stated she would forward the information to another department to have them investigate. I called in on XX/XX/XXXX to check the status and was told no dispute was ever entered. On top of that._ I was told my credit score would be affected. So I was forced to pay the min payment to keep this from going further. Also, The department that handles the online order can actually see on their end that the money was credited back, but for some reason, the credit card department has no record of it. My account should reflect a XXXX balance with no derogatory remarks ..Lane Bryant Comedity Bank has validated the law and I would like to move forward with the complaint/lawsuit

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX by Comenity Bank I paid off the account and told them to close the account I asked to pay extra on the amount due they would not accept the extra {$10.00} They charged me a {$2.00} finance fee and they then charged me {$15.00} twice for fees on a closed account. I want these tactics noted and Id like the company under investigation. I never had a problem over paying my final amount to prevent from getting more fees on a credit card. Im upset and I do not want to pay these fees. I have found Comenity Bank to be unethical, greedy and suspicious in their practices.
