Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I received an unsolicited credit card from Comenity Bank. I didn't want the card so I never called to activate it. Several weeks later I received a statement from Comenity Bank showing I owed more than {$30.00} in streaming charges from somewhere in XXXX. For the record, I live in Colorado and haven't left the state in more than four years. I called the bank repeatedly to report fraud but was always connected to someone who didn't speak intelligible English. I also sent a letter and an email to the company but received no response. I finally got the account closed on XX/XX/2023, but the fraudulent charges were not removed. Now I have incurred late charges and the balance due is {$100.00}. Please help me get this resolved. I'm semi-retired and do not have the resources to pay for some strangers ' hotel XXXX ( if that's what it was ). Card number is XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I received a notice in the mail from XXXX card accounts for a charge card made in my name that had apparently not been paid for on time. I did not open this charge card and did not authorize anyone to do so on my behalf. I am not an existing customer of XXXX XXXX, I have only made credit cards through the Bank. I am attaching the paper showing the charge card made from COMENITYCAPITAL as well as a credit report printout showing the unauthorized accounts as documentation.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX there was a change in banks that serviced an existing credit card. The new bank " Comenity Capital Bank '', sent me notice and a new credit card, but did not send me their initial invoice. I only found out that there was an outstanding amount when my card was denied at a vendor. Starting XX/XX/XXXX and continuing for several months, I called the Bank 's customer service three times. Each time, the representative told me that the late fees and interest were removed. But after each call, in a matter of weeks, the amounts plus additional interest were put back on the account. I also wrote letters to the bank 's CEO, XXXX XXXX notifying him of the issues and asked him to have someone remove the unwarranted charges and cancel my card. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Comenity stating the credit card was cancelled, but that the late fees and interest were still due. It appears that they are either unwilling or unable to correct their error.

Issue: False statements or representation
Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: My compliant is not only that the amount reported to the credit bureau may be incorrect but that they have misrepresented the information on the account which has led to miscalculating how long it remains on my credit report. Therefore, I am not sure that any of the information is correct since the account has been clearly reaged before reporting to XXXX credit bureau. Now causing it to be on my credit report for longer than 7 years. History : The original debt of {$300.00} for a Catherines credit card managed by Comenity bank. Due to financial and medical hardship, I became delinquent with this account in the summer of XXXX ( around XXXX ). It went into collection status and although I tried to make periodic payments to the collection agency which totalled to about {$900.00}, there was still a remaining balance due to their continued increases in the amount due which was very questionable when the original debt was only {$300.00}. However, I believe Comenity may have held it for a long time causing the tremendous increase in the amount due. The other issue is that when XXXX bought the debt in XX/XX/XXXX they may have reaged the delinquency date by reporting it as a new delinquency account after buying the debt from Commedity bank in XX/XX/XXXX. As a result, it makes it look like the delinquency date started in XX/XX/XXXX rather than in XXXX of XXXX when the account was with Comenity bank. As a result, this has manipulated the date of removal and/or how long it stays on my credit report with XXXX.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information is missing that should be on the report
Consumer Complaint: When Comenity took over my account around XXXX of 2022 all reporting to Credit Bureaus ceased. I called after a few months, and was told that the same system upgrade that was not allowing me to access my account online was the reason my account hadn't been reported to the Credit Bureaus. I mentioned that they had informed account holders that the " upgrade '' would be finished in a couple weeks, and we were months into it. They said they could give me my balance because I still had to pay, but they needed a few more weeks to finish the " upgrade ''. I was finally able to access the account online around XXXX or XXXX, so I called this time to see about getting the account reported to the Credit Bureaus. I was told that there was a backlog due to the " upgrade '', and I would need to wait until 6 months after the last time the account was reported. I waited until XXXX to call again, and was this time told to contact each Credit Bureau to ask them why Comenity was not reporting my account. I pushed back since it was not any of the Credit Bureaus that held my account, so they finally relented and stated that the only thing to do was for me to write a letter and mail it to Comenity to see why they weren't reporting the account. I asked if there was some way to talk to someone by phone, chat, or email, and they stated that there wasn't. I paid off the card and stopped using it, and come XXXX I noticed that the account no longer showed on my credit report. My credit score also plummeted, presumably because it seemed that the account was closed by the issuer and my available credit was reduced. I decided to used the card for one transaction to see if it would finally trigger a submission to the Credit Bureaus. When XXXX came with no change, I sent a message through Commenity 's website. Their response stated that they would resume reporting to Credit Bureaus on XX/XX/2022. I responded that the date mentioned passed 2 months earlier, so they said they would look into the issue, and get back to me in a month. A little over a month later, I received a letter in the mail from Comenity stating that they were reponding to my issue, and found that they have not and will not report my account to any Credit Bureaus. The letter further advised that I should call their customer service number if I had any questions. I immediately called, and was told I'd need to write in to Comenity to have the issue resolved. After some time of pushing back, I finally spoke to a " Supervisor '' who told me that she couldn't believe that no one had filled out the form to get my acccount reported to the Credit Bureaus immediately, but she would do so. It has been a month, and I still don't see the account on my credit report.
