Consumer Complaint: I paid off my account and wasn't informed there would be a final interest payment. There was a small interest charge, less than {$2.00}, so I was assessed a minimum interest charge of {$2.00}. I received a statement, but didn't look at it because I thought it was just verification of my closed account. I became aware of the problem when I received another statement. I was assessed another minimum interest charge of {$2.00} and a {$2.00} late fee. I now owe {$6.00} on a balance that was only a small amount of residual interest. I know the dollar amount is small, but the policies that more than trippled what owed seem onerous.

Consumer Complaint: So maybe it was early XXXX end of XXXX I was in the bealls store making a purchase when cashier asked if I would like to apply for a credit card I was like sure applied got approved the cashier assured me that I would get the card within 7 to 10 business days so I used the temp card or paper to make XXXX purchase of {$63.00} I wanted almost a month never received a card so called don't remember who I talk to I explain to them I never received a card so that said no a problem we can fix this so she asked me what was the address on the account so I told her my current address she said that was not correct and I was like okay maybe it's under in old address I literally gave her 7 different address everywhere I ever lived and all of them were wrong so she said that I would have to mail a copy of my ID for proof of identity I was like no I'm not doing that just close the account so she said that she closed the account I was still responsible for the balance of {$63.00} so I agreed this was the early part of XXXX so the early part of XXXX I paid the {$63.00} dollars so I thought I was done with company until they sent me a bill saying I owe XXXX in late me fees I was so confuse and called the company I ask them how I owe a balance on closed account with a XXXX balance the said that I didn't make my payment on time so for 3 months I was harassed with calls emails etc until I just paid them {$180.00} worth of late fees on a closed XXXX balance account to me I felt like it was far they were just taking money from me the only reason why I paid because the were falsely report to credit report on a closed account so finally they stop harassing me just for them to hit with some other fees with a bill in the mail so I called them once again she said she would take off all fees and remove from my credit and still hasn't done

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX//23 I visited the XXXX store at XXXX XXXX in XXXX. As I was checking out, the cashier asked me if I wanted to open a new Sephora Credit Card account. He made three specific assertions to me : 1. that I'd get an immediate approval ( my credit rating is XXXX ) 2. I'd be able to apply a 25 % discount to my {$280.00} purchase 3. I'd be able to pay for the purchase using the new card. So I decided to apply. I did not receive any kind of response. The sales person said I needed to wait for the bank to communicate with me. I asked for the store manager, and asked him to make a call to the bank to find out what was happening. After speaking with someone unknown to me, he said that person wanted to speak with me. After asking me for some personal information, he proceeded to tell me the same thing-that he could not provide me with any information and that the bank would be contacting me. Well, the bank never contacted me either by phone, email or regular mail. I looked up the bank online - Comenity Bank - and found hundreds of comments from angry customers who were victims of the same scam : the bank approved cards for them but never sent the actual cards, and at year end, unbeknownst to them, they'd receive collection letters for the annual fee plus large late fees, and their credit score would also be reduced significantly because of the non payment of the card fees they didn't know about. So I decided to call Sephora credit card department and they told me they could not help me, that I needed to call the bank. So I called Comenity Bank at least twice, asking them for information about my case and they refused to give me any information. So as of today, XX/XX/23, it's been more than 10 business days since I was deceived into applying for this card, and I don't know if I was approved or denied, and I never received a call nor a card by mail. The bank has refused to provide any information about my application, and now, the only reason why I decided to open the account, which was the 25 % discount, is no longer available for my purchase. So, I respectfully request the CFPB to investigate Comenity Bank 's practices under the ECOA, and that they are required to delete the inquiry they made of my credit to XXXX and also, that they cancel any credit cards that they have issued in my name.

Consumer Complaint: It is with great concern that I note your bureau 's insistence on reporting these accounts as accurate, despite a lack of sufficient evidence to support such claims. This raises serious doubts about the veracity of the reported information and its compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). I was the victim and Im not sure why the CRA is not complying with the law. Im very confused why this one seems to ignore my requests. I must emphasize that the burden of proof lies with the credit reporting agencies to substantiate the accuracy of the information they report. In the case of the late payment accounts in question, I have yet to receive any verifiable evidence confirming the accuracy of the reported late payment dates. The absence of such evidence leads me to question the validity of the reported information and its compliance with the standards set forth by the FCRA. COMENITY BANK/EXPRESS XXXX Those payments were made on time. I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. In light of the aforementioned concerns, I hereby request the immediate removal of the inaccurate late payment information from my credit report. If there are any discrepancies or lapses in payment, it is imperative that the bureau rectify these inaccuracies promptly. I expect that the bureau will adhere to its responsibility of reporting accurate and up-to-date information, and any failure to do so would be a violation of my rights under the FCRA.
