Issue: Credit monitoring or identity theft protection services
Subissue: Didn't receive services that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of identity theft. Wasn't aware of it for years, because of the pandemic. Then several years later when I was made aware, I started trying to dispute my credit, to no avail. I was recently advised that you are allowed to file charges on identity theft regardless of the time frame. XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX {$3800.00} XXXX. Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I had an order totaling {$120.00}. I made a partial return totaling {$75.00} on XX/XX/23. There is a {$9.00} return fee so I should have received a credit of {$65.00} on my card. I paid the remainder of the bill and waited for my {$65.00} credit. On XX/XX/23 I received an email stating they received my return and were processing it. About XXXX week later I called and had to leave a message. Someone called back the following day, and I asked where my credit was on my card. They told me it takes XXXX business days and so I should wait another XXXX days. On XX/XX/23 I received a bill for {$66.00} ( {$65.00} plus interest ). I tried calling several times. When asking for customer service I am transferred to a medic alert promotion. I emailed and received a response to email more information, which I did. After that no one has gotten back to me. I am frustrated and closed my NY & Company card. I just want my card credited for {$65.00}. I returned some merchandise and they acknowledged that but are now trying to charge me for it plus interest.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: Comenity Bank was the credit card for XXXX 's loyalty program ( XXXX XXXX ). XXXX sold to Bed Bath and Beyond and canceled their loyalty program but sent through an annual membership fee anyway. The fee went through in XXXX but the loyalty program cessation email said it was canceled in XXXX. I informed Comenity bank that I wanted to dispute the charge as it was for a program that no longer existed but they left it on my account and charged me late/interest fees. After receiving harassing emails, I decided to pay to get them to stop calling. I paid the account off in XXXX {$45.00} and requested an email confirming that the account was closed. They did not respond. A week after my final payment, they changed a {$2.00} minimum interest fee to my closed account ( XX/XX/13 ) and then charged a {$2.00} minimum interest fee and a {$2.00} late fee on that {$2.00} balance on XXXX, XX/XX/13 and then continued to charge late fees on their minimum interest charge for months with no notice to them that the account was no closed and that I was accumulating fees. In XXXX they started calling telling me I owed them {$30.00} in fees due to not paying the {$2.00} in XXXX. I checked my email history and I've had nothing from them. This is their business model, fees on empty closed accounts. I finally agreed to pay it off using my credit card over the phone because the time delay between paying it off an them posting the payment would allow them to keep the account open by posting another late fee or minimum interest charge. The representative on the phone said that even with my credit card, I should add {$2.00} to my payment to keep them from posting another fee to keep it open. She said, on the phone, that they intentionally time collection calls so there is no way to pay off the balance and have your payment post in time to avoid another {$2.00} fee to hold the account open. I paid the extra {$2.00} and finally got the account closed, I think. But they still have not sent anything that confirms the account is closed and continue to send emails encouraging me to shop at XXXX which no longer exists. I've now paid them over {$120.00} in late fees and minimum interest fees on an account that I closed in XXXX because they are threatening to report to credit agencies. I have no idea how to get them to stop but if you look on the XXXX site, I am not an isolated case.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2022, I called and paid off a Victoria Secret 's credit card I had. The agent gave me the confirmation number and confirmed the card was paid in full and closed. About XXXX months later, I received a bill from them showing I owed almost {$400.00}. I called them, gave the agent the confirmation number, amount I paid in full, the agent 's name I spoke to in XXXX of 2022, and the fact that I had closed the account. The new agent insisted that I still owed the money. Now, I have been receiving statements from XXXX XXXX and it has been being reported to credit bureaus. The company did nothing, even though they were given the confirmation number by me.

Consumer Complaint: They are listing my payments as late under an open ended consumer credit plan which is against the 15 U.S. Code 1666B law. Under 15 U.S. Code 1666B it clearly states a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late for any purpose. I called the company and spoke with representative XXXX ( Ref # XXXX ) who stated the company can not remove the late payments from the account, but the credit bureau could.

Consumer Complaint: Found an entry on my credit report that is incorrect. It shows a balance overdue of {$330.00} dollars. According to the credit report, the charge was made in XXXX of XXXX. I have never received a statement from them. I did receive an email several months ago and called them on XX/XX/XXXX and was told I had a XXXX balance so I thought the situation was resolved. The card that it was charged to was never activated and the card is in my possession. I have tried repeatedly to contact Comenity Bank and the phone message says they are connecting me to customer service, the phone rings once and then hangs up. The address on the adverse information report is : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX OH XXXX If I could get them to talk to me, I'm sure we could clear this up. Consumer Complaint: In 2020 I fell into financial ruin due to losing my job on more than one occasion. I also had to move out of my parent 's house during the COVID lockdowns due to a very toxic and unhealthy living situation and a XXXX XXXXXXXX issue. When I moved out of my parent 's house, my bills more than tripled and I was unable to afford to pay all of my bills which led me to only pay the essential bills first. I collected unemployment and got government assistance for food, energy, and Wi-Fi.
