Consumer Complaint: I am not a BofA customer. I received 4 emails from what I believe to be spam, but I am not sure, the phone number is XXXX and listed in the email. The emails knew my full name and email address. I called BofA to confirm that I am not a customer and there was nobody opening an account in my name but there is no number to find for fraud nor was I able to speak with any customer service rep for BofA. I googled the phone number and this seems to be an issue and I want it to be known that I am not a BofA customer and if BofA has allowed someone to setup an account in my name I will be forced to legal action. Basically is BofA wasnt corrupt and had a decent customer service department, this would've been handled.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: The website and application of Bank of America is designed in a manner that lacks transparency and appears intended to cause consumers to accrue interest. It is an intentional design choice, i.e., a " dark pattern. '' Specifically, unlike most other credit cards, Bank of America 's card does not provide or display the consumers ' " Remaining Statement Balance, '' nor offer when making a payment for a consumer to select a choice to " Pay Remaining Statement Balance. Thus, if consumers make small or multiple payments in the course of the month -- anything other than one lump sum payment per month -- they are generally unaware if the amount of payments made were enough to avoid accruing interest, unless they go to the trouble of tracking their payments made throughout the month. I can imagine many consumers aren't doing that. In the attached image, you'll see in the " Make Payment '' screen options that include : - Statement Balance : {$2500.00} - Current Balance : {$2600.00} - Enter Your Own Amount. To understand how confusing the bank 's user-interface is, you should know that when these payment options were displaying, there was no Remaining Statement Balance, as it had already been paid. Again, I know that only because of my own record-keeping.
