Consumer Complaint: On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX, I received a notification from XXXX that Bank of America had reported a missed payment. I thought this was unusual as I do not use this card. Upon reviewing my statement from BofA, I saw that a magazine subscription that I believed would end in XXXX had been renewed for an additional year subscription on XX/XX/XXXX. I promptly called the magazine and they had no problem returning the full amount to the Bank of America credit card. That amount, XXXX, was received by BofA today, XXXX XXXX XXXX I called Bank of America to inquire as to why they never contacted me regarding the late payment in the prior months and that the charge was in error and refunded. They told me I had selected paperless statements which somehow means they dont have to email statements or notices either. The statement for XXXX said I would be charged a late fee. I was not, however the Bank found it necessary to report the missed payment anyways. If it was late why was the late fee not charged? The card had rewards dollars that could have been used toward the balance, yet the Bank did not do that either. I asked if since the original charge was refunded and unauthorized if they would rescind the notice to the credit bureaus. They specifically told me that had I disputed the charge with them and not the merchant directly that they would have, but to dispute it now after it had been refunded would not be in my interest. I asked what the difference was and they were unable to give me an answer. This card has been active for 13 years and had never had a missed payment before. XXXX told me that the Bank can use its discretion to remove derogatory marks at will but Bank of America would not reveal under what circumstance they would do so and told me that I should contact the credit bureaus again. I have submitted disputes to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Results needed : Bank of America needs to please locate {$4100.00} and credit my account # ending in XXXX. These funds were returned on XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX to Bank Of America. See details below. Details-This has been too long since I dont have these funds. It has become a blame game between Bank of America and XXXXXXXX XXXX XX/XX/ I requested to pay my mortgage bill via Bank of Americas Online banking bill payment system for {$4100.00} to XXXX. XXXX XXXX returned this payment back to Bank of America. From XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I have made several calls to both BOFA and XXXX and been bouncing back and forth with no resolutions. None of these companies takes ownership of who has the funds to release these to my account. On XX/XX/, I spend another 2 hours between bank of Americas deposit department and Bill pay department and didnt make any progress. There were few a things that were learned in the banking jargon as I included a family member on these calls that is in banking. Bank of America uses a third party bill pay company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) Which is where funds were returned according to letter provided by XXXX. There was another transaction exactly the same payment to XXXX via bill pay in XX/XX/2023 that was also returned and these funds were credited to my account without any issues. At this point, Bank of America has the funds and should do the research required to find these and credit me. I believe that this was most likely rejected and in the manual process they didnt know where to credit and is probably still in some internal general ledger account. The right parties in the right department need to take charge to track this. See attached letters from both BOFA and XXXX showing Bank of America bill pay went out and also the confirmation that this was returned by XXXX. Having these large sums of funds missing for a single mother for 11 months is just ridiculous and needs the attention that this deserves to get a resolution. Consumer Complaint: This is my second complaint and I am now fed up with BOA. One of my accounts has been blocked for more than 3 months for " suspicious activities ''. I was told it was blocked by Merrill Lynch and nobody could tell me why. The bank asked me to go in person to a branch to sort out the issue. I went to a XXXX branch and it was a waste of time. It took the agent the same amount of time it would take me to reach out to Merrill Lynch. The agent told me that my account is blocked maybe because I did too many international transactions. This is so ridiculous. Would this mean that I am not entitled to make transactions with my money whenever and wherever I want? As I am not living in the US now, I provided a telephone number so the bank can call me to provide a verification code. This mechanism is not working. On XX/XX/year> I wanted to make a transaction from the account that was unblocked, I clicked on the option to receive the code by phone. My phone rang and I heard nothing. No code was provided. I ended up not being able to make the transaction. This is just one example, I have several other ones that I could share. I am using another bank now. The experience is totally different. They use a voice recognition system and customer service is excellent. BOA is not equipped to provide service to customers working or living outside of the US.

Also i have attached the letter i sent out and here the tracking #. according to the FCRA The term " investigate consumer report '' means a consumer report or portion thereof in which information on a consumer 's character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living is obtained through personal interviews with neighbors, friends or associates of the consumer reported on or with others with whom he is acquainted or who may have knowledge concerning any such item of information. They stated my account was verified but how is that possible if they did not do a proper investigation according to the law. Also every piece of information on these accounts are still not reporting 100 % accurate. and according to the FCRA 15 USC 1681 has to be 100 % accurate. Consumer Complaint: Recently, I opened a Bank of America 's ( BOA ) Travel Rewards VISA card for my international trips. However, every transactions outside the US instantly locked the card. For example, a {$6.00} usage at XXXX in XXXX, XXXX triggered the lock. Every time I have to spend 15+ minutes of waiting time to reach BOA for unlocking the Visa card. I was told to log into the BOA mobile application locally before using the card but the tip has been proved useless. Hence, the Visa card has been locked many times and totally useable abroad. The whole purpose of this card is for overseas traveling. I have spent days and hours everyday to reach BoA Fraud department to unlock the card. What a waste of time it is for everyone. Not only BoA can't provide a solution, but at the end they ask me to visit a local financial center with two photo IDs to validate myself. I am afraid they will ask me to fly to BoA 's HQ to validate myself. This is outrageous as all my domestic use of the card has no issues whatsoever. If BoA dislikes my foreign usage of the Travel Rewards VISA, why do they advertise falsely? BoA 's fraud detection algorithm is a harassment to the customers. I have XXXX XXXX XXXX and it works flawlessly. Please prevent BoA from advertising the Travel Rewards VISA falsely. It's only a XXXX XXXX. This is not the first time I notice unfriendly practice of BoA credit cards. When my son obtained a college Visa card the past summer. He couldn't use the card for the first month, we had to call many times in vein. And we visited a branch office at the end to make it work. BoA never puts customers ' interests in top priority.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 my wife 's wallet was stolen. Multiple credit cards were in there, and were used for fraudulent transactions. All other credit card transactions were accepted as fraud by other financial institutions, but Bank Of America is denying my claim ( see attached resolution letters ). I reported this through my bank 's mobile app as being fraudulent charges within a couple hours of the fraud. I couldn't mark it immediately as I was in an area with very limited cellular reception. After a couple of days, they denied the fraud claim. I called them, I faxed them the police report, and they reopened the case. A week latere, they denied the claim again. I have a police report where we reported the theft of the wallet, and even have GPS tracking of our location for that time given we were doing a hike during the time of the transaction. XXXX : XXXX I suggested sharing this with Bank Of America over the phone, but they were not interested. I'm looking for a refund of the fraudulent transaction.
