Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking account with Bank of America to set up direct deposit for my unemployment checks since D.O.L doesnt honor online banks to deposit funds into,2 days after I opened up my account I seen that there was a second checking account opened up under my name that I never authorized or opened up myself, I brought this to their attention and the canceled my debit card and froze my account without any warning to me whatsoever, they had me travel to 4 different branches to verify my identity and was told 4 different stories why I couldnt access my funds, finally over 3 weeks later I received a new debit card but still can not access my funds that were deposited on XX/XX/XXXX, I was finally able to access my funds the XXXX or XXXX week in XX/XX/XXXX and withdrew money and left XXXX $ in my account, that was the last time I was allowed to access my account, they told me they force closed my account because of fraudulent activity and kept the balance of XXXX $ from my account, there was nothing illegal or fraudulent going on, I had my paycheck from my previous job getting direct deposited into that account and that was all, they never mailed me any paperwork from my last complaint nor did they ever contact me, matter of fact they deleted me entirely to where I couldnt call customer service and speak with them bout my account since there was no phone number on file to which they could send me a code and that would let them gain access to my information one I read back the code, they ignored me completely since then, I would like my money back that they stole of me plus whatever punishment that can be handed down to them cuz me not being able to get that money that was first deposited in XXXX caused me to break my written agreement with my landlord that I had for payment of back rent and was evicted from my apartment along with my XXXX kids

I am very aware that banks are not allowed to lend credit and that their authority to use credit is granted through the applicant. I am also aware of my hybrid prepaid account that it available through a separate credit feature attached to the social security number account and by provided Bank of America with the social security number and a signature it gives them authorization to make an electronic funds transfer according to Regulation E. Proof of this transaction is evident on my credit report in the form of an inquiry. I contacted the bank on XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX XXXX expressing my rights to proceeds and was told I was stating opinions and the applications had disclosures. I did let the agent know the application would not allow me to opt of sharing my information with third parties and was ignored. I also alerted the bank to being in default and are liable to me pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1681n - Civil liability for willful noncompliance which Bank of America is liable to me in the amount of USD {$200000.00} payable in lawful money.

I asked how to setup an external account so that I could pay them and they sent me some information on how to pay a bill. I have literally spent over 15 hours calling and holding on the phone. I have not been able to set up an external account. The customer representative told me to download a mobile app and ask " XXXX! '' I was also told to go online and add the account, but the feature appears to be disabled on my account. So, I just received the first statement from them on yesterday, I am on the site and I still can not add the account.

Consumer Complaint: I filed a claim with Bank of America for unauthorized transactions. These transactions had names of companies that Ive never heard of from places like XXXX, XXXX and many other places. This was 3 years ago. This claim was denied by the bank stating that I authorized these transactions. They put me on the phone with the rudest person Ive ever dealt with. With this jerk yelling at me, interrupting me every time I speak, I was left speechless. He was absolutely positive that I did indeed authorize or make these transactions. Its ludicrous and insulting to be spoken to like this. I used to work for B of A so I know how these banks operate. Theres so many ways people can have their info stolen and money taken. Ive seen many people fall victim to all sorts of scams including identity theft. I felt there was no other recourse to be taken and was worn out and overwhelmed after having been denied and treated like that so I didnt pursue any further. A month ago, early XXXX I found out that a good friend of mine had also disputed unknown transactions on her account around the same time as I did. They were charges from places like XXXX, XXXX, etc. Very very similar kinds of charges. She received a letter in the mail stating that she is being credited XXXX $ immediately. From her dispute made back in XXXX So I contacted Bank of America to get some information on why theyre treating some customers one way and other another way? Come to find out they had no record of my claim. They had lost the records of my first claim even though they investigated it and denied it? I was speechless, I didnt know what to say but they offered to open claim for me. They also submitted a complaint for having lost the information and records of my first claim. So we did that. After a month I received money back in my account but only from the international transaction fees. Then I get a letter saying my claim was denied. Why did they give me the money back for the transaction fees but not the full transactions? Also I wan na know why my friends claim wasnt denied! She banks with Bank of America. We both disputed pretty much the same kinds of charges. She had hundreds of transactions that were unauthorized! My friend was treated fairly and I was not! Every custmer should receive the same amount of respect and decency. I mean who does the bank represent? The customer or some unknown shady entity overseas? It disgusts me to think about. The main reason I contacted the bank was to file a complaint with CFPB. I contacted the bank and explained that I wanted documents from the claim that was denied back in XXXX. This is when my bank tells me that they do not have a record of any claims under my account. So they then went ahead and submitted the new claim. Which was recently denied. I want equal treatment by this bank! I hope I can get the representation I deserve.

I called them, after XXXX minutes dealing with there stupid XXXX answering machine. Then they tell me that I loose all of my Cash Back Monies. They took about XXXX dollars from credit card cash back. So if the bank takes cash back from XXXX people at XXXX that save the bank XXXX ... .... They lost in court so they do this to people ... ..STOP bank of america XXXX the word America should be removed from there name ....
