Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, XXXX XXXX XXXX put my XXXX XXXX account into collections. They put it into collections because XXXX XXXX was in a company corporate name that wasn't personally guaranteed. This account never belonged on my credit in the first place. They took my consumer information and placed it on my credit report and that's not what should have happened. 16 CFR 313.7 15 usc 6802 Per the FCRA as a federally protected consumer I am now opting out of any and all authorizations I the consumer may have given you written, unwritten, verbally and non verbally per 15 USC 6802 it is effective immediately and indefinitely. Since the debt is now with a third-party collection agency, it has already been charged off. As outlined in Tax Topic 431, this represents a certificate of indebtedness, which is categorized as income. It's important to note that income is not reportable on my credit report. " If your debt is forgiven or discharged for less than the full amount owed, the debt is considered canceled for the forgiven or discharged amount that you no longer need to pay. Cancellation of a debt may occur if the creditor can't collect, or gives up on collecting, the amount you're obligated to pay. If you own property securing a debt, cancellation of the debt may occur due to foreclosure, repossession, voluntary transfer of the property to the lender, abandonment of the property, or a mortgage modification. Consumer Complaint: I was hacked and felt that BofA did a poor job responding to the hack, plus they sent money to the thieves. Upon numerous calls to fix that, I requested the card be cancelled. The card was never cancelled. I twice visited a BofA office. Regardless, I was issued a new card number but no cards. I got a surprise notice that the annual fee was due. I had a card I verbally cancelled multiple times and yet evidently still had a card with BofA. THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL WITHOUT CALLING! I called. Waited 20 minutes. Got a representative. But oh no. I have to speak to a " XXXX '' agent. I have/had ZERO intention of staying with BofA but I wasted another 20 minutes ... I was verbally assured the account was cancelled but am waiting for confirmation via USPS mail ... no email or notification through the app... Finally rid, I assume, of BofA credit card. Get rid of the artificial barrier to exit!!!

Consumer Complaint: I paid off in full a Bank of America Mastercard loan of {$10000.00} in nine months, from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, with never a late or missed payment. My credit score was XXXX, the highest possible excellent score and no late payments ever in my life. Then, B of A notified me of a late fee on that credit card of {$28.00} that was never mentioned to me before. I paid it right away as soon as they mentioned it. They reported the first late payment on my credit report as a major late payment. My score started going down. Other creditors saw the late fee and started lowering the credit limit on their credit cards. I hired XXXX XXXX to appeal to Bank of America that the {$28.00} fee was not a purchase that I would have been aware of, but a card fee added by Bank of America that I would have paid in time had I been informed about it, considering that I had paid the full amount of {$10000.00} on the card within nine months. They ignored the attorney 's reasoning and kept the detrimental report. I had just started my own business as a self-published author and needed to fund the start-up costs. I applied for a second Bank of America Mastercard and was approved for {$19000.00} credit. I made commitments to purchase needed programs and equipment for my work. After having spent {$8800.00} and making all minimum payments on time, Bank of America notified me on XX/XX/XXXX that they have closed the card, and that while I would be still making payments, there would never be available credit for me to borrow. I was facing commitments that I had made previously based on the promised {$19000.00} credit on the card, and was given no reason for the sudden drop of the limit on the card, its being closed, PLUS a reported lie that I had negotiated a settlement meaning that I was excused from paying the {$8800.00}, which I have been paying for 15 months by autopay until now, when I am so broke that I stopped continuing those payments because my present credit score is a low POOR, which I did nothing to merit. Bank of America 's unfair and untrue reports caused every application I placed to obtain a business loan to be declined. I have a copy of the report about a false settlement report on XXXX that my own bank, XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX brought to my attention as not being consistent with my perfect 28-year history with them. One more severe damage that Bank of America caused on my report is claiming that I had maximized the use of the credit available on their card, which is completely false based on the following evidence : When I spent {$8800.00} out of a {$19000.00} credit limit on the card, it was 35 % of the amount allowed. But when in one day they brought down the limit to the amount that I had already borrowed, the percent appeared to change up to 100 % due to their having lowered the limit and is a wrong percent of what I had spent. Now, they are threatening higher finance charges and penalties added to the owed amount because of the missed last due payment, for the first time in my life due to no funds.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: I applied for the Bank of America XXXX XXXXXXXX credit card with an advertised promotional offer of XXXX miles with a minimum spend requirement in the first 90 days. This was widely advertised on the XXXX XXXXXXXX website. I applied on XX/XX/2024 and was approved on XX/XX/2024. Today, I viewed the same XXXX XXXXXXXX website and was disappointed to see the advertised promotional offer had been increased to XXXX miles. As I only applied less than 2 weeks ago, I thought if I contacted Bank of America they would honor the higher advertised offer. I called Bank of America customer service and they gave me misleading information that this could only be adjusted by XXXX XXXXXXXX. I reached out to XXXX XXXXXXXX who told me this was false and needed to be rectified by the financial institution. I tried explaining the situation again to Bank of America but they refused to adjust the offer with no further explanation given.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted a paycheck from ADP from my employer from an Iowa bank in Iowa which I live. I went to my bank, Bank of America. The check was for {$1200.00} and some change. It was my paycheck. Ive never had a problem with their checks being returned before. The bank is holding my check until a WHOLE 7 days because information on the check indicates it may be returned this is such a bologna reasoning and I need my money to pay my bills. Requests for payments have been returned in my account however, NEVER HAS A DEPOSIT BEEN RETURNED. This is crazy and I need my money and they shouldnt be doing this with at least giving any temporary available funds or trusting their customers.
