Consumer Complaint: Bank of America has AGAIN allowed someone to open a checking account in my name. This is the same problem as my previous complaint XXXX. It has happened in XX/XX/22 and XX/XX/22 previously. The product is a " Bank of America Advantage SafeBalance Banking Account ''. My credit is frozen with all three agencies. Last time I fixed this with Bank of America they promised they would not allow this to happen again. The fradulent activity includes the opening of the account and signing up for mobile banking. They also allow this to happen without verifying my email address ( I know because I checked what devices are logged into my gmail account ). It is difficult to get ahold of Bank of America because they require a full account number and credentials! Obviously I don't have those. I don't really understand the fraudster 's play here, but my wife and I are trying to buy a house and I can't risk any identify theft right now.

Consumer Complaint: During the pandemic, I was receiving unemployment benefits on a Bank of America prepaid debit card. My wallet was stolen, along with my EDD prepaid debit card. Fraudulent charges were made. A report was filed. I continued certifying for benefits. Only recently have I been able to reestablish my identity and verify. In the meantime I filed an appeal, which I won! All the disqualified weeks I had certified for were finally approved and monies deposited to Bank of America prepaid card services. I was unaware of all this until four days ago or so. I noticed an email in my inbox from BofA prepaid services. It had been there a month. The email simply stated there were changes being made, and that I needed to service my account. I called the number provided. I spoke with several representatives who confirmed my identity over the phone. I was instructed to go to my local BofA and once again prove my identity in order to regain access to my funds. I did. However, after all these years without benefits, and all this identity verification? BofA says my account has been closed, and they can not issue me a new card! They say this is because my EDD claim is no longer active. My account has been closed. They refuse to release my money to me. They said it depends on EDD? How can this be? Regardless of my unemployment claim status, my pending weeks of certification were approved. Funds were deposited into an account bearing my name. Why am I still not allowed access to my monies? Please help me understand how any of that is legal? Please help me understand what needs to be done in order for me to receive my funds? Your help is much appreciated. Thank You, XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I have filed XXXX complaints with cfpb last year regarding bank of america not properly returning my funds to my account after giving police reports, identity theft docs and statements stating that my car was broken into when I was living in My car.. all my identification.. birth certificate, GOV ID, social Id.was stolen and was then later used to pull out funds that was already waiting for from previous fraudulent activities. They credited my account and money was stolen. I never received it. But got a letter stating case resolved .... money was missing. This claim has been open since XX/XX/ and they have been denying the claim for XXXX up until today. I've been fighting to get this straightened out and back in XXXX of XXXX on the XXXX they stated it was denied once again. I asked for a reconsideration and they ended up putting the claim on an XXXX, the claim has been pending ever since, no update or anything until XXXX. They credited my account XXXX $ but not XXXX They denied the claim for XXXX But gave me credit for another claim. I am beyond furious ... .. this is destroying my life. I need this money ASAP. I have been waiting soooo LONG and I have been very respectful and patient. I can't handle the mental trauma I'm facing anymore ... .... I'm getting my hopes up only to find out my claim sis being denied. I can't receive mail. I'm homeless and I have health problems and alot of doctors appointments to go to ..... I live in my car and can't afford to take care of myself right now .... I'm currently having car problems and can not drive. It's one thing after another and nobody is helping me. I've giving police reports and all back in XXXX of XXXX .... it's XX/XX/XXXX now.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, I was alerted through XXXX XXXX XXXX that someone was attempting to open a credit card in my name through Bank of America. I immediately contacted BOA to notify them that I never applied for a credit card through them. They verified the fraudulent attempt and said they would take action and notify my credit agencies. The fraud attempt through BOA was on XXXX XX/XX/2022. The next month, I was notified again through XXXX that another fraud attempt through BOA was made. I contacted BOA again, they again said they would take action and report it to my credit agencies. The fraud attempt through BOA was on XXXX XX/XX/2022. The fraud attempt 's happened again on XXXX XX/XX/2022 and in XX/XX/2022. Bank of America stated they never granted credit on these attempts and I was directed to put a freeze/fraud alert to all the credit agencies. Unfortunately at this time, two of the fraud attempts XXXX XX/XX/2022 and XXXX XX/XX/2022 inquiries are still reflecting on my credit reports which I'd like to have removed immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I have a fraudulent account on my credit report, which I reported it to BANK OF AMERICA, yet BANK OF AMERICA is not removing this fraudulent account. BANK OF AMERICA has no right to refuse to remove this fraudulent account because I am a victim of identity theft and I have filed a valid police report. According to FCRA XXXX05B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681C-2 ) consumer reporting agencies and creditor shall block the reporting of any information resulting from identity theft no later than 4 business days after date of receipt, yet BANK OF AMERICA has refused to do this. The following is the fraudulent account : BANK OF AMERICA XXXX Date opened XX/XX/XXXX Balance {$3100.00}, BANK OF AMERICA XXXX Date opened XX/XX/XXXX Balance {$4600.00} which were open at an address which I have never lived at and it has nothing to do with me. Accounts showing above are indicating with an address ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CA XXXX ) which is not mine and I never lived there.

Consumer Complaint: I received an email at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2023 confirming I had successfully joined their online banking service, when I had never banked with them ( BoA ). I got another email 5 minutes later saying my application had been denied. I tried calling the following morning but could not get through so I let it be since it had gotten denied. I received another email confirming my joining for online banking services again today ( XX/XX/2023 ). They have been unhelpful with dealing with this fraud and have sent me back and forth between departments.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted a fraud claim to Bank of America on an XXXX prepaid card I never recieved was told it would be investigated and would receive a provisional credit or answer within 10 days 18 days later I keep getting told different things that it would be settled up to 45 days other bank representatives said 90 days I asked for a reason why a provisional credit as it states in their literature while the investigation is going on no acceptable answer no reason issued asked for supervisor was that it does no good because the supervisor is going to say the same thing I asked in one case 4 times while on the phone I kept being told well the supervisor is going to say the same thing and than I would say well I would to talk to a supervisor please its like round and round etc my claim # is XXXX
