Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly
Consumer Complaint: The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S. Code 1681 ) says ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. So whenever there is a violation under the FCRA, it impairs the efficiency of the banking system. This is a violation of my privacy with my consumer report, since I control what is listed and what is not. In the event that any accounts are reported without my written consent, that is considered identity theft. This is a violation of both 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2. This leads way to civil liability against the credit reporting agency for negligent and willful noncompliance under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, which allows for {$1000.00} per violation, for account listed without my expressed written consent.

Consumer Complaint: There has been a hard pull on my Credit report by Bank of America dated XX/XX/2023. I never authorized such hard pull to Bank of America, or any products affiliated with them. I am not a Bank of America customer nor was I soliciting any of their products or products affiliated with them. I have done extensive research to see what could have caused the hard pull, but all I can conclude is that this was not me, I never authorized this credit check. It was either an error or it was the result of fraud/identity theft. I have sent a written letter to both Bank of America and the credit reporting agencies a few weeks ago but have yet to hear back. I would like to speak with someone in Bank of America who can provide more context and ideally, acknowledge the mistake and have the hard pull removed from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Description of complaint : In XXXX, I spoke to BofA 's to cancel my owner 's HO3 policy for insurance on my new home. I was advised the HOA Master Policy covered it. I spoke with the insurance team and sent them a copy of the Master Policy on XXXX, and was told it was sufficient. Well 2 mortgage payments later, in XXXX, the escrow was still inclusive of the owner 's HO3. I called BOFA again, spoke with a representative that said she will have the insurance removed, but instead she attempted to cancel the entire escrow. I received notice that it was denied, on XX/XX/XXXX, so I called back and was told that they would correct the request, and resubmit, and I had to cancel with my insurance company. On XX/XX/XXXX, i got an email that it was denied again. I called back and was then advised that it would take 30 days to process, and that XXXX would not include the insurance, but it did. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with 2 mgrs - one named XXXX, who finally advised she contacted the insurance team and confirmed the HOA Master Policy was sufficient, and that the insurance team would clear it up witihin 30 days, as it had to go through the final steps, and any money owed would come back in a check. She told to continue paying the full amount in the interim. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, i received a call from " XXXX - XXXX XXXX in PA '' stating she needs proof of insurance. I asked her why, she said she didnt know and transferred me to inurance. Insurance representative XXXX said she sees the policy was cancelled and the Master Policy was proven ok, so she transferred me back to customer service to get the policy removed. She merged customer service, - who said insurance would do it. XXXX XXXX wouldn't speak to me again, and the had her agent transfer me to insurance manager XXXX, who hung up on me. This is very unprofessional and high level incompetence. I will let social media know that BofA is a horrible morgage servicer, as my house is the only thing in jeopardy due to their incompetence. And mgmt doesn't care. Im a sad First Time Home Buyer. The only ones that can resolve my issue dont care enough.

Consumer Complaint: Im highly disappointed in Bank of America for falsely denying my claim. Ive had recently encountered my sister that I was roommating with stealing my personal information to steal money from me. She has filed my taxes for the last XXXX years, which gave her access to all personal information including social security number. When I filed for edd unemployment, I didnt receive my first card. When I received my second card, I called to activate it & bank of america informed me that there was a card active. I then asked for purchase information and they informed me that Theres been multiple XXXX transactions on the account. I was so confused but most of all scared. Money was being stolen from me. I was only staying with one person, this same person which was my sister has all of my identification info. She has created a XXXX account under my name, added the bank of america edd card to XXXX, to send thousands of dollars to other accounts as soon as my money hit my card. Then proceeded to also steal my middle class act refund debit card to make purchases. I called bank of america to dispute XXXX transactions just for them to deny my claim. I will attach several screenshots of my sister going back on her word, I will also attach screenshots of her trying to get me to play as my dad to fraudulently pick up phones from XXXX XXXX XXXX since me and my dad shares the same name. She has also used a debit card of mines before and called the XXXX number to dispute transactions herself and left a statement to call representative stating that she has falsely used the debit card thinking that it was her dads, which is not true because in order for her to activate my card she needs to give my entire social security number. A total amount of {$14000.00} has been stolen from my through XXXX because of my sisters doing. Bank of america has done nothing to help me, in fact it only took them 8 days to justify that I have authorization for someone to use my card which is also false because I NEVER RECEIVED MY CARD. When I did receive my card, I did emergency XXXX XXXX transfers off of my card just so my money wouldnt not be stolen again.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX Florida XXXX is using my personal identifying information to open fraudulent bank accounts. This is the 3rd occasion and all have been reported to their fraud department after hours og being on hold. Bank of America has not closed the 3rd account at my request and remains indifferent to the fact that this is the 3rd time a fraudulent account has been opened. Bank of America has charged fees on the most recent fraudulent account although no transactions have taken place on any of the accounts. Bank of America has not reversed this fee although miniscule. Bank of America has also refused to put in place any measures in place to prevent further fraudulent activity in my name. Bank of America has requested more PII from me in order to complete the claim and close the account. At no time have I opened or wished to have an account with bank of America. No other fraudulent activity using my PII has occurred.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I was charged twice on the XXXX app. The first charge was for {$130.00} and the second was for {$140.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX another purchase was attempted for {$260.00} but luckily I was hyper vigilant at this point and was able to cancel it before it processed. I contacted my bank and XXXX as soon as I noticed the charges on my account. The bank issued a temporary refund and processed a claim. XXXX had told me there was nothing they could do because the order was processed through a third party on their site. The bank later declined my claim due to a tracking number. This occurred in XXXX. I was instructed to contact XXXX ( which I did ). XXXX again told me they could not help me because at this point it was past window. I went to my post office who informed me that the packages were delivered to another address. The post office provided me with a letter stating this and I submitted the letter and all correspondence with XXXX to my bank. My bank has once again declined my claim. They stated I approved the claim and that the CVV code was provided. The CVV code was available because my card information was saved to the XXXX website because I would sometimes do curbside orders for groceries.

Consumer Complaint: Bank of America fraudulently opened accounts in my name. I call and report, they close the account but then it happens again. Ive asked to have my ssn flagged for no new accounts. It seems reasonable that a multiple fraud identity should be flagged and have additional measures before new accounts are opened.
