Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: Hi This is my third time filing a complaint against Bank of America! they owe me money they messed up my account my car got repoed because of what they did they took money from me several times.. and told me that they could not credit my account due to the funds that disappeared was a ghost transaction! whatever that meant. I called daily to resolve this issue asking them how did all of my money disappear from my account? I was told i used it.. before it posted! which i knew was a lie. it was mysterious to myself. and i didn't understand it at all.. this started back on XX/XX/2023 and my account never got solved. i kept calling and also going to the XXXX Texas Branch to speak with Managers only to find out that my account had been closed due to it being a Risk account. I didn't understand why they would close my account without at least giving me back my money. The Manager XXXX ask me did i not receive a check? I told her No I did not receive anything. Then I ask her why did they do that to me instead of just resolving the issue? I was told by here that Bank of America has done this to people that had been with them as long as i had with no warning.. they would just receive a letter stating that the account had been closed.. because they had decided not to do business with that Individual anymore!.. I was with bank of america on and off for 24 yrs.. and i never understood why my account was always low after depositing large amounts and would have to figure out how to pay my bills after i had just put money in my account and being told that they money was already used and that once the money posted that it all went to whom ever i paid or whatever i spent. I am in XXXX because of this.. i have lost my car XX/XX/XXXX because the money i paid for my car bank of america claim i disputed my car note back three months alone with bills and other things that i had to pay triple too.. i made a few reports to you all.. and nothing happen.. i am asking that you all please help me.I am a Grandmother of XXXX children and has now taken on a XXXX that was abandon by a family member and this is not right.. for everyone that this has happen too.. this is wrong.. not to mention they just sent me a letter in the mail asking me to reconcile my account starting out with {$8.00} yes you read that correct {$8.00} i am livid and i have been in deep XXXX since this happen to me! i can only imagine how many people this has happen too. Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: My Bank of America account was closed without notice. I assumed it was closed due to me not utilizing the account. I applied for a XXXX XXXX account but my application was declined due to banking history. I checked my XXXX account as well as early warning services and see that Bank of America reported suspected fraud as the reason for closing my account. I never received any correspondence from Bank of America in reference to this matter nor any correspondence alerting me that my account was closed. I even contacted them with no resolve. I was a victim of identity theft prior to Bank of America closing my account. I was able to get the fraudulent activity removed from my chexsystems by supplying them with a police report and other documentation but early warning services is giving me a hard time trying to dispute this matter.

Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: Subject : Complaint Regarding Bank of America Credit Card Rewards Revocation Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience with Bank of America and the revocation of my credit card rewards without a proper explanation. I believe that my rights as a consumer have been violated, and I seek your assistance in resolving this matter. On [ XX/XX/2023 ], I received notification from Bank of America stating that my credit cards were cancelled & when I tried to use my rewards it didnt let me when I reached out to them I was told that was there policy and they can not give more explanation. However, despite multiple attempts to seek clarification, I have not received a satisfactory explanation for this action. As a long-standing customer of Bank of America , I have always fulfilled my obligations and maintained a good credit history. I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and communication surrounding the cancellation of my cards & rewards. I have diligently accumulated these rewards through my regular card usage, and their revocation without a valid reason has significantly impacted my trust in Bank of America as a financial institution. I also have all my wealth management retirement accounts with them. And that really makes me think how I should trust a institution like this. I used these cards to pay for my child classes and regular daily gas groceries etc. I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with Bank of Americas customer support, but I have not received a satisfactory response or a clear understanding of why my rewards were revoked. Given the circumstances, I believe it is appropriate to involve a regulatory authority like the CFPB to ensure a fair resolution. I kindly request that the CFPB thoroughly investigate this issue and intervene on my behalf to rectify the situation. I seek an explanation for the revocation of my credit card rewards and appropriate restitution if it is determined that Bank of America has acted in error or violated any consumer protection regulations. I appreciate your attention to this matter and your commitment to protecting consumer rights. I look forward to a prompt and fair resolution of this complaint. Thank you for your time and assistance. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
