Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: I'm an extended identity theft victim who has legally done everything I can reasonably do and have forwarded all requested information from the credit bureaus to support my claim. XXXX and XXXX blocked Bank of America and XXXX credit cards that contained fraudulent activity with my FTC identity theft report then unblocked it because the creditors told them to do so as was told to me. Per 605B my report should legally blocked incorrect information as a result of fraud. Both bureaus also have my original police report and numerous formal letters requesting the block. By their incorrect and unfair reporting I continue to suffer damages and my once good credit name is tarnished. This is wilful non compliance. That legal document is binding and shouldn't be dismissed by disgruntled creditors. Per the FCRA and FCBA the bureaus must report XXXX accurate information and any billing or balance discrepancies are not to be reported. Both bureaus continue to report incorrect and harmful information. As a battered consumer I'm very upset and have very little trust with these credit bureaus and how they report and protect my personal information. I'm requesting an investigation into these unethical practices that are one sided and seemingly against the consumer and our logic. No one knows me and credit better than me. If the bureaus can not prove otherwise then they should accept my request and documentation and correctly update my credit reports.

Consumer Complaint: An XXXX item ( sink water dispenser ) purchased on XX/XX/2023 for {$190.00} was delivered to my house from USPS. Almost immediately, someone followed the mail carrier up the path and stole the item. The mail carrier tried to stop him but the person wouldn't leave the package. I filed a police report and called BofA Card Benefits. The agent there said it was covered ( my guess is there is a tape of the call ), and gave me forms to fill out. I filled them out, sent them and receipts and police reports. I got a response of " this benefit does not apply to real estate and items intended for real estate, including hard-wired and hard-plumbed items, garage doors and openers, ceiling fans, among other items. Please refer to your Guide to Benefits, which outlines what items or losses are not covered. '' The promotion of the card says " Purchase protection for items lost or stolen within 90 days. '' Nowhere on the website can one find a link to a Guide to Benefits, nor can one find one in BofA 's search facility. If BofA wants to promote " Purchase Protection '' on its website, it should be required to have a very visible description or link to a description of all of the caveats. They can't just promise something and then apply rules to which customers have no access.
