Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: In light of your report on Bank of America, I can tell you the issues with them rearranging and double dipping late fees goes all the way back to 2008, at least. I closed my account with B of A in 2008 because of what they were doing to my account. I confronted bankers in the lobby, here in XXXX, to which they agreed with me that B of A did what they did. They tried to undo it and credit it back to my account, but the 'System ' would only allow them to refund {$20.00} at the time. This was the same time frame that Bank of America was bailed out by us tax payers. It's no surprise that year they charged customers the same amount in overdraft fees as the amount they were bailed out with. It made me furious, but I felt I had no recourse, until I saw the news that you were going after them. If it's not too late for me to help in this situation, I'll give you anything you need to help.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I was refinancing a fixed equity loan, and when I was asked about The bank of American representative told me there was NOT a fixed rate home equity loan option... Now my payments have doubled, and my interest rate is higher than my original loan.. and I'm pretty sure I was just blatantly lied to in order to saddle me with this XXXX ARM loan, since Fixed rate options are now plastered all over the bank of America website . Ontop of being forced to manifest and pay off thousands of dollars in other 0 % debt. Leaving me with no emergency funds, and this second mortgage payment that quickly doubled, forcing me to live off of credit cards again.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX the IRS deposited my XXXX tax return into my Bank of America account that was supposed to be closed since XX/XX/XXXX. When I contacted them in reference to my deposit they informed me it would be XXXX days before I receive a cashier check. However I was confused as to why the deposit was accepted when my account was supposedly closed. I spent days talking to different departments about what the issue could be. First it was fees owed, then it was open claims, the list goes on. The entire month of XXXX from the XXXX I was told once the fees were cleared the account would close and Id receive my funds. Its a month later and my account is still not closed, theyve debited my account for the fees they claim I owed and I still have yet to have access to my funds or receive a cashiers check. Im currently going through a hardship where Im at the closing process for my first home for me and my children and Im currently pregnant. Ive stressed to them over and over the mental and emotional trauma this is causing. That money, my money is for my down payment and Im only allowed so many extensions before the sellers go with another buyer. Ive filed and requested the hardship request with Bank of America to go in and withdraw my funds and it was denied. Ive been with them XXXX I dont understand why this is happening.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I disputed a charge on my Bank of America credit card statement but Bank of America waited till the 85th day to request further information from me regarding the dispute. I called them a few days later and was told my dispute was closed and the temporary credit issued me has been retracted. Ive been online all morning and found several instances where people reported similar happened to them. Please update your records to reflect that Bank of America is not fair and does not adhere to its due diligence to customers during disputes. Kindly refer to my initial report filed XX/XX/2022 # XXXX Thank you
