Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Consumer Complaint: When I use my credit card, which is a Bank of America card, to withdraw a certain amount from my account the first time, by withdrawing from the machine normally, and if I use the same card to withdraw another amount on the same day, the machine refuses to give me the required amount even though there are sufficient amounts in my account, and this caused me several concerns. Sometimes, why don't I calculate from my account the amounts I want at a time, even if it is on the same day? Secondly, if I want to transfer an amount from my account via zelle to anyone, the bank refuses to complete the process, and this is a large number of the bank to the point that I became intolerant of this transaction

Consumer Complaint: This most recent XXXX, I was out of state and lost my phone which then got STOLEN. I didnt think much of it at the time because I was attending a family funeral. I still had my physical debit card so I continued using as normal. We eventually tracked my phone down to under a bush and I saw my bank was emptied into crypto currency. I contacted bank of America on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX and they opened a claim, i checked today and it said the claim was closed. I called customer support and they stated that I accepted pop up security alerts on my phone. How would I do that with a lost phone? Clearly whoever had my phone did it to continually make transactions. Luckily the reopened my case but I am not having to move out, late on bills and {$0.00} in my account! I would like my money back that was stolen from me!!! I trusted them as a company with my hard earned money.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I was tricked by a caller who told me he was from Bank of America and he was confirming an upcoming XXXX transfer. He knew all of my personal information as well as account information. He told me he'd help me to protect my money before the transfer, then went on to help me transfer {$10000.00} out of my account to his. This is a well known XXXX scam. Bank of America has paid back others for this. I wrote to Bank of America and called several times only to be turned down for a refund for the {$10000.00}. I am a small business owner and this was my business account.

Consumer Complaint: I was sent a new card by BofA for a balance transfer ( which I thought was through my existing Bof A card ). So I had a new account I didn't know about. Regardless, I noticed and set up automatic payments in time to have them arrive before the due date on the XXXX of each month. On the new statements there has been a late fee of {$40.00} every month, even though the payments are automatic through my bank ( XXXX ) and bank records are showing the payments were delivered 1 to 3 days before the due date. After an hour on the phone with customer service, I was told they can only " grant '' the refund of XXXX late fee, despite all these fees being erroneous. I let the rep know I have paperwork from my bank to back this up and she insisted the " system '' wasn't responding and she couldn't get any more charges refunded. When I asked if there was an alternative way to solve this, she suggested I call back later ( as if there would be a more empowered person there later? )

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, My name is XXXX XXXX and I would like to file a complaint against Bank of America. My social security number has been compromised on the dark web. I am not a customer of Bank of America and do not have an open account with BofA. I have received multiple emails that BofA checking accounts have fraudulently been open in my name. I have called BofA to notify them that I did not open an online account. The only way I was aware of an open account is that the attacker/fraudster had used my valid email address to open the account. I asked the BofA are there any policies in place to put a stop/hold on my social security number at their institution to make sure that this does not happen again and they responded that there are not. I am materially inconvenienced when I have to continue to call them every time a fraudulent account is opened in my name. Please help prevent this from happening to myself and other civilians.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I am writing to request your help in finding my lost {$2000.00}. This has been an ongoing issue since XX/XX/2023 between XXXX XXXX ( account XXXX ) and Bank of America ( account XXXX ). Here is a timeline of my efforts : XXXX XXXX - using XXXX XXXX online services, I initiated a {$2000.00} transfer from my Bank of America account to my XXXX XXXX account. It is important to note that I started this transfer from the XXXX XXXX website and not from the Bank of America website. I received a notice that the transaction would be complete within 24-48 hours. XXXX XXXX - XXXX received an email confirmation from XXXX XXXX that the {$2000.00} transfer was completed. XXXX XXXX - XXXX closed my XXXX XXXX account, forgetting to check about the incoming transfer. I received a notice ( attached ) showing that the {$2000.00} was returned to Bank of America with an estimated arrival by XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX - XXXX checked my Bank of America account and noticed that the {$2000.00} hadnt been returned. I went to the XXXX XXXX branch in XXXX, CA and spoke with XXXX XXXX and she made a few calls. I stayed with her for XXXX hours before she concluded that it was a Bank of America issue. XXXX XXXX - XXXX XXXX - XXXX made numerous calls between Bank of America and XXXX XXXX trying to resolve the issue. Each bank kept pointing me to the other bank. I spoke with XXXX at Bank of America, as well as XXXX with the Bank of America Disputes department. I tried to file a claim with Bank of America, but they stated that since the transfer was initiated through XXXX XXXX, and that XXXX XXXX didnt return the {$2000.00} to Bank of America XXXX there was no trace number and nothing to file for. XXXX XXXX- I went to the XXXX XXXX branch in XXXX, CA and spoke with XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX stopped returning my calls ). He tried to be helpful, but was also unable to assist. Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 Bank of America sent me a letter stating that I have not used my credit card for a while, so they are canceling my Automatic Payment plan on XX/XX/2023. They are now directing me to pay my credit card online or by mail. I have multiple issues with this policy change. They have instituted this policy to generate late fee income and unnecessary interest charges. Many customers will not see this letter of Automatic Payment Cancelation and their credit score will be affected when their payment is not be paid. Canceling Automatic Payment will only benefit Bank of America fee income and will hurt the consumer. This action by Bank of America should result in a class action lawsuit that I would gladly participate in.

Consumer Complaint: I was a customer of XXXX Bank which was acquired by Bank of America. After the acquisition, BOA changed the minimum balance requirement in my checking account without any notification. Then Bank of America started charging the minimum balance fee on my account from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX without my knowledge, and despite they didn't notify me. For a total of 8 months, the bank charged {$14.00} every month for a total of {$110.00}. I was on a long term illness in XXXX and couldn't go to the bank to inquire the account status, yet BOA didn't notify me of the late of charges during the XXXX months period. I had called BOA several times in the past 4 years and even visited the bank in person to dispute the charges, but each time the XXXX informed that those charges by the bank can not be disputed. Once again, I just called BOA today on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with the XXXX XXXX, ID XXXX. and she informed that she could not find those charges in the system any longer as they were too old.

Consumer Complaint: I was scammed by an individual that I wire transferred {$16000.00} to a foreign country. I was not trained to recognize this. I have never done any wire transfers to anyone let alone to a foreign country and a random company. There were so many red flags for the two transfers but Bank of America never warned me. I have tried to connect with the bank since XX/XX/XXXX to file a fraudulent claim but the fraud department was closed. I then connected with my financial advisor by email. His supervisor called me and asked me to call the fraud department but the fraud department could not verify my identification. I was told to go to the financial building to address this issue but they had no appointments available even they knew the fraudulent transactions. I finally made an appointment to a local Bank of America office today. The agent called the fraud department and was transferred to XXXX different representatives and yet my concerns were never addressed and no claim has been made. Nobody wanted to help.
