Consumer Complaint: Please see the attached letter regarding the account that is not mine due to identity theft. I have filed all of the necessary forms including the FTC online form and affidavit. This is all equivalent to a police report as well. This is my second request to you to remove these fraudulent accounts from all three of the credit bureaus before I take legal action. Send the validation of these accounts as well with your response back to this complaint. I want the account name, account balance, past due amount, and date of last activity verified and provided to me as well.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/2023 I contacted Customer Service at Bank of America 's EDD division in regards to unauthorized transactions on my Prepaid EDD Debit Card from the time I was incarcerated. I filed disputes on unauthorized transactions totalling over $ XXXX. Transactions were not initiated by me. At the time, Mail theft was prevalent in my hometown area and our mailboxes were constantly being targeted by theives. It is during this time I believe my EDD card may have been stolen and fraudulently used. I followed up 3 days later inquiring about the provisional credits and how those work in regards to my claim. I was told that it wasnt going to happen in my case, and if it did it wouldnt happen for at least 45 or 90 days. I was under the impression they had to issue this provisional credit 10 days after filing the dispute, but may have been misinformed. This would be my 3rd complaint with this financial institution. After not hearing any follow up from anyone at Bank of America in regards to my claim or my complaints, I again called them on the evening of XX/XX/2023 and spoke to the Fraud Department. At this time I was told my dispute had been denied. I never received any documentation regarding the denial or was given the chance to file an appeal. I did file an appeal however on the phone and reiterated the fact that i was XXXX and therefore could not have initiated the transactions myself. I was told to provide a copy of my id card, a copy of the police report regarding the mail theft, and a signed statement of facts concerning the incident at hand. My disputes were resubmitted. I was never told i had the opportunity to view documents they used to complete their investigation into the suspected fraud on my account and feel I should have been offered this as it is a requirement under Electronic Funds Transfer Agreement that this Financial institution uses. I was not given the fair chance to provide my documentation substantiating my disputes, either. I would like a thorough investigation to be done on my disputes and valid documentation be provided in the event my dispute is yet again denied. I can provide all of the evidence in the world to support the fact i did not initiate transactions on my card while in custody, and feel as though Bank of America is denying my claim based solely on the fact that they have already issued millions of dollars back to cardholders ( theft of EDD funds/cards was extremely common during the COVID lockdown ).

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 Re : Bank of America I received a new credit card for my account as the card was expiring. My complaint centers on the security code. My new card security code is XXXX. I am not a genius but why does a reputable company allow a card to be printed with XXXX zeros as a security code? Per the representative it is a random assignment. Ok but how is this helping to make a more secure card? Why is this allowed? I can ask for another card. It will have a new number. No big deal but why is a program allowed to do this? It is plain ignorant.

Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: For many years I had an AAA Visa -Bank of America credit card XXXX I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX that the AAA Member Rewards credit card account by Bank of America was to be taken over in XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX XXXX. I had XXXX points and chose to redeem XXXX for cash. I submitted my request online and the attached Bank of America Cash Redemption email I received stating : Your redemption request is confirmed. Please allow XXXX business days from the date of redemption to receive your rewards. It is noted a personal check was requested and the XXXX ID number. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I have not received this {$100.00} check. I read online that Bank of America has been ordered to pay {$250.00} million for illegally charging junk fees, withholding credit card rewards and opening fake accounts. The CFPB accused the bank of harming hundreds of thousands of customers, etc. The bank illegally withheld promised credit card cash rewards. My {$100.00} is small in comparison to the money owed to customers but Bank of America needs to be held responsible for all monies withheld and owed to customers, regardless of the amount. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. Consumer Complaint: I had a credit card with Bank of America for many years. It was on automatic debit so that each month the amount of the entire bill was authorized to be deducted from my checking account. According to a recently received credit report for me Bank of America reported that I was thirty ( 30 ) days late with a payment due in XXXX of 2018. If the payment was late it was not due to my error as there was an automatic debit agreement in effect during this time.
