Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 a fraudulent XXXX transaction was made on my account possibly from my unattended phone that was illegally accessed in a XXXX parking lot, in the amount of {$1600.00} to a XXXX XXXX. After reporting the fraudulent transaction the next day, the effected checking account was locked and a police report was filed per the banks recommendation and an identity theft report was also initiated. After several months of supposed investigation the bank claimed they weren't responsible for the missing money and blamed me for an outside party accessing my phone, even though I was the victim of the fraudulent access. No further investigation was conducted by BoA despite further information about the fraudulent party being given to them. After an initial investigation by the XXXX it was reported to bank of america that individual where the money was sent was most likely fraudulent as the individual XXXX XXXX could not be reached and a male individual answered instead. After requesting identifying information the individual hung up and blocked the number. BoA XXXX XXXX # : XXXX Police report : XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I opened checking and savings accounts with Navy Federal Credit Union XX/XX/2023. A few days after, I was informed by NFCU that XXXX XXXX XXXX alerted NFCU with regards to old XXXX XXXX XXXX account ending in XXXX. The XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX checking account has a XXXX balance but was reported to XXXX XXXX XXXX for " Suspected Fraud Activity ''. It is this " Suspected Fraud Activity is why I have filed several complaints against XXXX XXXX XXXX for the " Suspected Fraud Activity '' for which there was no evidence of any fraudulent transactions. Bank XXXX XXXX 's response on XX/XX/2023, specifically notes that after careful review, there were no fraudulent transactions reported to Bank XXXX XXXX with regards to account ending in XXXX. This response is attached to this complaint. There is no legal or evidentiary reason for XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX to use " Suspected Fraud Activity '' other than to cause harm to consumer.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I noticed that my Bank of America debit card was no longer working. I immediately called customer service and was told that my account was closed without any further explanation. After attempting to log into my online account I noticed that my account details were no longer valid. However I did have the phone number to the fraud department from a recent claim and contacted them directly. The fraud department indicated that I needed to contact the risk management department. After speaking with risk management they confirmed that my bank account was closed due being an " unauthorized account ''. This account has been open for over 20 years and never had any issues with payments/deposits/etc. After I explained that their claim did not make sense I was told that risk management suspected " identity theft '' and I was asked to step into a local Bank of America branch to verify my identity. After visiting a local branch ( along with my mother and father ) and verifying my identity the account manager attempted to contact risk management in order to submit a cease of closure request as originally instructed. However when the account manager called risk management they were told that we could not submit a cease of closure request and the account had been scheduled for closure. Bank of America purposely misled me and has now refused to send the remaining funds ( approximately {$68000.00} ) which violates local and federal banking regulations in addition to multiple consumer protection laws. Furthermore Bank of America has blatantly refused to dispute an unauthorized charge for {$10000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX via my debit card which is a violation of the agreement between the card issuer ( VISA ) and the backing bank. Per the Bank of America user agreement account holders are not responsible for transactions that are unauthorized and/or fraudulent.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: Good night! I am making this claim, because the Bank of America has doubled the charges on my account, for no apparent reason, I had a faith account now and one debit. I had to close the one now, because they charged me monthly, {$4.00} dollars for the savings account and the same amount for the debit account. In other words, they automatically deducted {$9.00} dollars from my accounts every month for having these two accounts with them, the same person being the owner of the account and not using the savings account, simply because they said it was for maintenance. I contacted them and tried to fix the problem and they only told me that they couldn't do anything, that they were company policies, because I had nothing left but to cancel the savings account and only keep the debit account, because it was a lot of money a month. They only agreed to cancel the account and gave me no other option.

Consumer Complaint: I believe myself to be a victim of Bank of America opening a credit card without my permission as they have been found guilty of systemically doing since at least XXXX a court ruled on XX/XX/XXXX. BOA claims they keep no records of account sign up papers older than 7 years and can not produce evidence to support the sworn affidavit to recover fees. BOA claims the account was opened on XX/XX/XXXX which I dispute. They claim to no longer have the document I signed to initiate and agree to terms of the account. BOA claims I signed at branch with a teller but can not tell me which branch, city, or state. I know this date was not authorized by me. BOA lied on a signed affidavit as to the account open date.

Consumer Complaint: I hereby affirm and declare, and I also swear under oath, the accuracy and correctness of my words and the entire content of my letter and description as a whole. My detailed explanation from XX/XX/XXXX. Bank of America illegally and fraudulently withheld additional fees from me several times after my bank account was closed on a secured credit card that I opened and received from this bank in XXXX. Before closing my account in this bank regarding my secured credit card, I specified what balance I had on the date of closing the account, they called me a small amount that I paid at XXXX, after which my account was successfully closed. But after that, within a few weeks, I received a notification in my email that I had an outstanding balance. I also paid for it a second time. A little bit later, about a month later, I also received an email about the debt on my bank account, I had to close it a second time. After a little time, I found out about another debt on my account. I did not pay this debt for a long time, because I believed that this was a mistake, fraud and illegal. Then I called the bank itself several times, waited on the line for several hours and talked to different departments on the phone and explained this problem and the situation. Then I also went to the bank itself, where they opened this secured credit card for me in XXXX. I personally explained to the banker of this bank in this branch at the address : XXXX, New York, XXXX XXXX XXXX, exact address : Before closing my account in this bank regarding my secured credit card, I specified what balance I had on the date of closing the account, they called me a small amount that I paid at XXXX, after which my account was successfully closed. Also, this bank even gave me a letter stating that I no longer have debts on the date of my application to this branch. After I still got these bank employees to give me this letter of no debt for the following illegal and fraudulent activities and for issuing additional bills to me. I have filed complaints and opened disputes with all credit bureaus several times. In XX/XX/XXXX, I opened disputes in XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. The second time in XX/XX/XXXX I filed an appeal. Third time in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, I personally applied to a bank in New Jersey in person at a branch. The banker said that she does not see my credit card bank account at all, which was opened in XXXX. I opened a secured credit card in XXXX and Bank of America approved and issued this card to me and set a credit line of {$300.00}. And she's a branch banker at the Bank of America in New Jersey, XXXX XXXX , she can't help me. Then, together with this bank employee, we called the customer service phone number, on the phone I gave all the information about myself, and they also did not help me at all. They also don't see my information, such as my credit card account number. Warm Regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX I deposited a check in the amount of {$530000.00} into my Bank of America business checking account from XXXX for a vehicle that I sold them. I was given a deposit slip that stated {$5300.00} of the check will be available on XXXX and the remaining {$47000.00} will be available on XXXX. On XXXXXXXX I noticed that I couldnt login into my online banking portal. I called BOA to see what the matter was and they informed me that my account was locked and in a closing status. BOA informed me that the check I deposited was unauthorized and they were closing my account on XXXXXXXX I called XXXX and spoke with a lady name XXXX in there Customer Relations department. She informed me that no one at XXXX nor their bank ( XXXX XXXX ) unauthorized this check. She emailed me a copy of the draft showing that the funds were paid to BOA on XXXXXXXX I called BOA and they informed me to have XXXX give them a call. I called the Customer Relations department for XXXX again and spoke with the same lady. I informed her of what BOA had told me to do. She gave me a call back about a hour later and informed me that BOA wouldnt speak with her without me giving authorization. I called BOA back with XXXX customer relations analyst on 3way in which we set on the phone for another hour just to be told that BOA couldnt talk on a 3way call. The XXXX analyst gave me a XXXX phone number and extension for BOA to reach out to XXXX. I waited until XXXXXXXX to call BOA back about the closure of my account in which they informed me that the closure date has been pushed back to XXXX. I asked about my funds that were in the account and also the check either being mailed to me or sent back to XXXX and BOA informed me that nothing will be done until the closing process is finished. I asked them for proof that XXXX told them that the check was unauthorized and they wouldnt provide it. Each time I called BOA they were very rude to me it even had gotten to the point they will put me on hold for a hr then hang up the phone on me. I called BOA on the XXXX and they are now telling me the account will be closed on XXXX. When I ask for proof that they were told the check was unauthorized they tell me that they cant provide it until the account is closed. BOA keeps telling me to take it up with XXXX but XXXX is saying theres nothing they can do u til they receive their funds back. XXXX said they will issue me another check immediately after that {$53000.00} comes back to there account. BOA keeps procrastinating and withholding the funds so this matter cant be resolved. I informed BOA that I cant pay my employees payroll or bills because they are withholding funds. This is causing a strain on myself and my business. I have audio of BOA representatives saying that XXXX said the check was unauthorized. I also have audio of XXXX representatives saying they didnt say the check was unauthorized
